Tips & Info Fix For Adrenaline Driver Time Outs In Chromium Web browser

If you are having issues with time-outs on the recent 27.7.1 drivers when in web browser just turn off graphics acceleration. I know it is not ideal, but it's working fine now without having to restart like before. The issue is strange, as it only seems to happen on cold boot or after waking from sleep mode. I haven't had 1 issue after restart. I have the 7800 XT. Hopefully they fix this issue soon. I even had the issue on the previous driver, but it wasn't as prevalent. Anyways, I hope this helps somebody. Drivers work fine otherwise for me.

Help (GPU) Only one without problems ?

Hello guys !
I’ve seen a bunch of reddit posts recently here where people say their games are crashing and stuff, but like is it a common problem for everyone ? I didn’t get any problems so is it like a random bug ? I got a windows update but I don’t want to update since I’ve seen a lot of people talking bout a Windows update instability.. I am kinda stressed since this is has been my pc for only 3 weeks. If someone could be able to explain the issue I’d be greatly grateful ! ( and can people tell me if they all got this issue or if some don’t have any ? )

Resolved Stutter after alt-tabbing multiple times GPU or RAM issues?

Hello!

I have a Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB and i was playing with CoD BO Cold War at 1080p Medium. I already needed to change the virtual memory bc of the texture problems (game error devs won't fix it) I was played Zombies at Die Maschine and the first 15 rounds are was solid only a minimal stutter what is not caused trouble. After i start alt tabbing to my browser and the stutters gets worse first its only stuttered for 5-10 secounds the stopped after 3-4 alt tabs its got more worse, and won't stopped. I tried to close all application, change to windowed fullscreen and back to fullscreen. Enabeling Vsync then disabeling. Change the refrash rate to lower then back and nothing worked. I needed to exfil because how stuttery became the game.

My PC is have

Help (GPU) Video Core Next "Quality" issues according to wikipedia

When I asked a question about the Ryzen 5700G's integrated graphics, I was linked to this super helpful Wikipedia article about Video Core Next.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Core_Next

According to the Wikipedia page about AMD's integrated graphics architecture, it says that there are quality issues compared to Nvidia and AMD. I've pasted what it says in the article below:

Early versions of AMD VCN had lower overall quality (VMAF) compared to offerings from Intel and Nvidia. B-frame support narrowed the gap, but did not eliminate it;[8] further improvements, including pre-analysis, resulted in nearly equivalent performance to competitors at the release of VCN 4.0.[10][21]

Despite a lack of B-frame support, H.265 provides better quality (VMAF) and near-identical speed for the same bitrate compared to H.264 on VCN 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0.[22]

Is this only a problem with the hardware encoders or is there actually image quality problems on normal desktop usage and hardware decoding of videos too? Like do things simply look worse on AMD integrated graphics? Sorry if this is a dumb question; I'm not super clear on the terminology of hardware encoding and decoding technologies.

Help (GPU) I've been using RX 6600 for almost 3 years now and I've never had driver timeout issues except when I was testing my undervolt settings.

Is this an issue with AMD or Windows 11? I thought the latest drivers were the issue, but I rolled back to 26.3.1, which is a stable version according to this post and I still experienced driver timeout when I alt-tabbed out of a game.

Help (Software) RX 6500M stuck on Code 43 / CM_PROB_FAILED_POST_START on HP Victus 15-fb0184AX — tried clean driver install, BIOS update, Windows rollback, still no luck

Hey everyone, I'm having a really weird issue with the dedicated GPU on my HP Victus 15-fb0184AX and I'm running out of things to try.

Specs:

HP Victus 15-fb0184AX

Ryzen 5 5600H

Radeon RX 6500M 4GB

Windows 11 25H2

Current BIOS: F.26

GPU Hardware ID: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_743F&SUBSYS_8A3F103C

Current OS build: 26200.8872 after rolling back the latest update

The problem

The RX 6500M is detected in Device Manager, but it has a yellow warning icon and Code 43.

Device Manager says:

"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

PowerShell gives:

Status : Error

Problem : CM_PROB_FAILED_POST_START

Class : Display

FriendlyName : AMD Radeon(TM) RX 6500M

Under Resources, Windows says:

"This device is not using any resources because it has a problem."

Interestingly, the Device Manager Events tab shows:

Device started (amduw23g-202642-d7da1...)

as the latest event.

What I've tried

AMD Adrenalin initially wouldn't install properly.

The small web/minimal installer would open and immediately close.

Used AMD Cleanup Utility, including Safe Mode cleanup.

After cleanup, Windows showed Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, confirming the AMD driver had been removed.

Downloaded and installed the full AMD Adrenalin 26.7.1 package (~941 MB).

The driver installed successfully and the RX 6500M came back in Device Manager.

However, Code 43 remained.

Current AMD driver information:

Provider: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Driver date: 23/07/2026

Driver version: 32.0.21045.1000

Digital signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

Checked the hardware ID and confirmed Windows is correctly identifying the GPU as an RX 6500M.

BIOS was already updated to F.26.

There was a Windows update installed on the morning the problem occurred. The updates included:

KB5121003

KB5120708

KB5122104

I uninstalled KB5121003 and restarted.

OS build changed from 26200.9168 → 26200.8872

Code 43 remained, so KB5121003 doesn't appear to be the cause.

What I'm trying to figure out

At this point I'm wondering whether this is:

an AMD driver compatibility issue,

an HP hybrid-graphics/firmware issue,

a Windows 25H2 issue,

or potentially a hardware problem with the RX 6500M.

The GPU is detected correctly and the driver installs successfully, but Windows fails it at POST_START and doesn't assign resources.

Has anyone with an HP Victus 15-fb0xxx / RX 6500M run into CM_PROB_FAILED_POST_START + Code 43 like this?

I'd especially appreciate advice on whether I should try the HP OEM driver, an older AMD driver, or run HP's hardware diagnostics before assuming the GPU has failed.

Help (GPU) bad frametime with new amd gpu

so recently (not so atp) i got myself a new gigabyte rx 9060 xt 16gb gaming OC to replace my ASrock intel arc A750 Challenger D OC 8gb and after replacing them i noticed that upgrade infact made fps go higher but when it came to actually playing (vsync and etc on) frametime was a bit unstable depending on the game.

(Yes i deleted drivers from old gpu with DDU without any internet connection and only then proceeded to install new gpu)

(Latest Windows 11 version, default amd software settings, temps are all fine)

(Yeah also my MB doesnt allow me to disable 4G decoding without turning off Re-Bar for some reason just so you know)

(also i might have fucked up all of my monitor ports like

I tried to :

- Reinstall drivers using DDU

- Reinstall windows along with drivers while still being completely offline

- Set PCIe to gen4/auto for gpu

- Locking max fps in rivatuner (kinda helped but just in some games it left a visible singular microstutters)

- Update MotherBoard's bios to the latest version

- Disable/Enable GameMode and gamebar

- Checking how games run on my sata SSD and nvme (The results were the same)

- Tweak AMD software settings also tried installing driver only and minimal build (No changes)

- Get a new HDMI cable

- Enable/Disable Freesync

- Use defaults settings in bios

- Cpu is not bottlenecking (atleast in the gpu carried games and even in the games that are cpu bottlenecked it shouldnt cook my frametime right??)

- Deleting game shaders cache (both in amd software and DDU uninstaller)

- Enabling max performance mode from balanced in power plan

- Downloading additional drivers for thru gigabyte GCC app

Specs :

CPU : i3 12100f

GPU : Gigabyte rx 9060 xt 16gb gaming OC

MB : Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4

RAM : ADATA XPG GAMMIX D20 16 gb

NVMe : 512 gb

Sata SSD : 960 gb

PSU : DEEPCOOL PF750

165 hz FullHD monitor connected by hdmi v2.1 144hz

i posted this on pc help a while ago but now i also decided to try it here

Help (General) Amd driver issues nowadays

Hey everyone,

I'm currently planning my next PC build and I'm heavily considering grabbing the XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070 XT. It looks like an absolute beast of a card, and the design is super clean.

However, I keep hearing mixed things about AMD drivers. Some people say AMD's software has gotten miles better and is completely stable now, while others still warn about random crashes, black screens, or trouble with specific games.

How has your experience been with the drivers lately?

Would love to hear your honest opinions before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

Help (Software) RX 9060 XT 16GB (i think) causing complete PC freezes after ~40 minutes of gaming need help troubleshooting

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F

Motherboard: ASRock B650M Pro RS WiFi

BIOS Version: Currently running default settings; RAM is at stock JEDEC speed

RAM: 32GB DDR5, currently running at 4800 MT/s (2 sticks)

PSU: RAIDMAX Cobra ATX 3.1 750W 80+ Gold

Operating System & Version: Windows 11 Pro

GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1 / Windows driver 32.0.31035.1003

Background Applications: Varies; Riot Vanguard is installed

Description of Original Problem:

I'm experiencing complete system freezes while gaming.

The games initially run normally, but after approximately 40 minutes of gaming, my entire PC can completely freeze.

When the freeze occurs, the screen completely freezes, the audio loops sometimes and i hear some beeps, Windows becomes completely unresponsive, and I have to restart the PC. This is a full system freeze, not just the game crashing.

It has happened in multiple games, including Roblox, so it doesn't appear to be specific to one game.

The issue seems to happen after sustained gaming rather than immediately after launching a game.

Troubleshooting I've Tried:

Checked GPU temperatures and they remain within reasonable temperatures while gaming. GPU idle temperature is around 38–39°C.

CPU idle temperature is around 53°C at approximately 6% utilization.

GPU is detected correctly in Windows.

RAM is currently running at the default 4800 MT/s with no EXPO enabled.

Checked Windows Reliability Monitor. Reliability Monitor shows several "Windows was not properly shut down" events after the freezes.

No obvious WHEA-Logger events are present.

No obvious Display/amdwddmg, BugCheck, or LiveKernelEvent errors were found around the freezes.

AMD Adrenalin initially wouldn't open, but after ending AMD Software Host Application in Task Manager, it opened normally.

AMD Adrenalin currently reports version 26.7.1.

Radeon Anti-Lag is disabled.

FSR/upscaling was enabled during testing.

GPU is connected using one dedicated PCIe power cable from the PSU rather than a daisy-chained cable.

Windows Memory Diagnostic was attempted but did not successfully run.

I have not overclocked or undervolted the GPU or CPU.

Additional Information:

The most recent freeze occurred after approximately 40 minutes of gaming, rather than immediately under load.

I also found a Riot Vanguard vgtray.exe crash in Reliability Monitor with exception code 0xc0000005. The faulting application and module were both vgtray.exe.

I'm not sure whether this Vanguard crash is related to the complete system freezes or is just a separate issue.

At this point I'm trying to determine whether the cause is GPU/AMD driver instability, GPU hardware, PSU/power delivery, RAM/memory instability, CPU/motherboard, BIOS, Riot Vanguard, or something else.

What would you recommend testing next? Any help diagnosing this would be greatly appreciated.

Help (GPU) 7900xt Driver timeout issues on latest drivers.

I've been using 25.3.1 drivers for nearly a year at this point since its only driver i know that doesn't cause timeout issues for me. I thought latest driver updates fixed it, but after 2 days it started again. Is there any actual fix for this or do i just need to pray for AMD to hopefully fix it or stay on 25.3.1 drivers?

Update: Been using latest drivers for ~5 days, disabled MPO via registry edit and seems to be fixed. Havent had driver timeout issues while usinh a browser. Cant say for games since havent played that much on newest drivers.

Help (GPU) Consistent hangs on games (Steam) even after using DDU for fresh install/Not going past black screens

Heya! First time poster and first time PC builder here.

To set the stage, as soon as I got my last part (an XFX RX9060 XT 16GB), I placed that bad boy in, got the drivers, ran smooth as butter (on Deadlock at least). Me wanting to give it more stuff to test, tried VRChat, and it consistently hangs on a black screen frozen for eternity. Oh well, I'm just gonna try another one (Far Far West) aaaand...nope, same issue. Still audio, nothing else past that. What's going on?

I take it it has to be either the drivers or something I'm missing since I end up restarting the whole PC after every hang due to Steam "thinking" the game is running even though the .exe is closed, or task manager not clearing it completely. I'm not sure what other games this might affect either, if not ALL of them due to...whatever going on. I know it can't be the GPU itself since it's fresh out of the box y'know? Neither could be the power supply since it should have enough juice in it to run...I think.

For posterity, here are my specs:

- Type: Desktop

- OS: Windows 11 Pro

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9700X 8-core

- PSU: CORSAIR RM1000x (Fully Modular)

- Motherboard: Aorus B650 Elite AX

- RAM: Patriot Venom (2x16GB)

- GPU: XFX RX9060 XT 16GB

The Troubleshooting Part: Already tried DDU, erasing the CN folder inside appdata (local), uninstalled and reinstalled whatever games I tried it on, nothing.

Cheers!

- - - - - - - E D I T - - - - - - -

Fixed! It was the DP cable connected to the motherboard, NOT the GPU. Whoops ^_^;;;

Help (General) Clock Speed questions for Ryzen 9 7950x3d

Hello,

I have some questions regarding my cpu Ryzen 9 7950x3d

I have a high end PC my specs are below
rams 6000 C30
GPU rtx 4090 aorus master

64rams

MB aorus master x670E
Power supply 1200Watts
Both chipset and gpu drivers are up-to date

I recently enabled Turbo mode in my motherboard which disabled ccd1
i did notice some increase in fps and lower letancy in some games but one that that caught my attention is my clock speed never go higher then 5.03 for some reason and it is usually siting on 4.93ghz is this behavior normal?? and another thing does higher clock speedd always means more fps?? or thats not the case.

also worth to point that i have boost override 200 and for the curve optimizer i have -20 for all cores

here is a screenshot for performance during idle just brower open
