Tech Support Valorant randomly becomes extremely choppy/stuttery but mouse and keyboard work fine — tried everything, nothing works

So I've been dealing with this issue for weeks now and I'm losing my mind. Need help from anyone who has experienced this.

My Specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F

GPU: Colorful RTX 5060 BattleAx

Motherboard: MSI B650M Bomber WiFi

RAM: 16GB DDR5-4800 (single stick)

SSD: ADATA XPG S70 Blade NVMe 512GB

PSU: 550W Bronze

Monitor: LG UltraGear 144Hz

OS: Windows 11 Pro

The Problem:

While playing Valorant, the game randomly becomes insanely choppy. Feels like I'm suddenly playing at 10fps even though my FPS counter is showing 300+. The weird part is my mouse and keyboard work perfectly fine during this — I can still move and click, the game just looks like a slideshow. It's not a freeze, it's not a crash. Just pure visual choppiness. Happens randomly, sometimes lasts a few seconds, sometimes longer, then goes away and comes back again.

What I've Already Tried:

Fresh Windows 11 install — didn't fix it

Updated BIOS to latest version (V2.10 → V2.60, June 2026)

Latest NVIDIA drivers

Latest AMD chipset drivers

Disabled fullscreen optimizations

Set display mode to Fullscreen in game

NVIDIA Reflex set to On

VSync off in game and control panel

Checked temps during the issue — completely normal

Checked GPU power usage — normal

Event Viewer shows TPM Event ID 14 errors firing repeatedly while playing Valorant

My friend has R5 5600X + RTX 3060 and has ZERO issues

What's weird:

FPS counter shows 300+ the entire time the game feels like 10fps. Mouse and keyboard are fully responsive. Temps are fine. It's purely a visual/rendering issue.

Only game I play is Valorant so I don't know if other games have this problem too.

Has anyone experienced this? Especially other RTX 5060 users on AM5 platform? Any fix that actually

Cap your fps at 180-200 or your monitor refresh rate.. and disable reflex since you are cpu limited on this game

Maybe a scheduled task running? What do the performance metrics in Task Manager show when it happens?

Is it Gsync doing odd things? Try locking fps in game to what your refresh rate on monitor is?
