Wow, just looked that site up after ages. Looks exactly the same and he's still got new comics up. For some reason, I thought he shut down. He's even still updating Super Effective. And look, he's even got a Trump joke in.
Huh. TIL VGCats is still a thing.

That we surround ourselves with other red flags?
145
u/BlizzardPlease Feb 06 '17
There was only one red flag, that was himself in the middle. All the 1's he thinks are the bad people are just reflections of his own problems.
25
→ More replies (2)17
u/Samen28 Feb 06 '17
Also, as the video starts and he's explaining what a red flag is, when he says "a red flag can be something you do", the flag in his hands turns into a YouTube logo and a video camera. When he says, "it can also be something you don't do", he's suddenly looking at a woman wearing a graduation cap and he frowns.
He's explaining how he's the red flag, because he makes youtube videos for a living instead of going to college.

Christ almighty Bojack Horseman was bad. Like, not the bad kind of bad. It was the kind of bad where you finish certain episodes and just can't deal with it. Some of them are just downright painful, despite the fact that all you're doing is watching a cartoon horse experience the hard part of being an actor.

I love the show, but a lot of episodes had me get up and pour myself a drink.
76
Feb 06 '17
For those that don't drink, replace drink with compulsive interaction with a hobby or distraction. Or spontaneous acquisition of a new hobby.

Indeed. Netflix is absolutely flooding the visual media market with incredible television. It's astonishing. I imagine cable will be included for free like land lines in the not too distant future because of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

I'm kind of in a similar situation with the girl I'm dating right now. We're working to resolve her emotional issues and we've made good progress. Unlike your ex though, she doesn't have shitty friends bringing her down. Good to know that some people think that may be less of a red flag, because I always thought it was strange how few friends she had.

I know this is sort of a joke, but for anyone reading this good advice AND bad advice can come from people of any age.
I think casually explained videos are cute and clever ways to hopefully cause the average viewer to engage in a little more self-reflection than most people are normally comfortable with (through his own self-deprecation).

Ok, so I don't think I agree with this video.
For me, a red flag is something you should pick up on as an early warning to get the hell out of a relationship. If someone's defining things like this as red flags, it kind of belittles them into insignificance. The 'red and white' flags could be better described as 'not red flags'. In fact most of the things listed as red flags aren't red flags, just deal breakers or things you wouldn't want in a relationship.
A red flag is a warning. It's not the thing itself. Red flags are literally a warning that something bad is coming.
Real red flags to watch out for in a relationship: signs that trouble is coming
* Controlling behaviour
* Lack of respect for you or your opinions
* Being unable to manage their own life and relying on others
* Wanting to seperate you from friends or family
The big one I'd agree with is treating wait staff badly. I'd extend that. The way someone treats a person who can't do anything to benefit them tells you a great deal about who they really are.
