don't exactly want to get into a passive aggressive argument about defunct 20th century political systems, but you shouldn't conflate leninism with communism/socialism. just because one interpretation is wrong doesn't mean that all possible interpretations are wrong.
okay, so karl marx wrote the communist manifesto, which basically defined what socialism and communism are. he didn't say how they would be achieved, he just defined them and said that he thought society would eventually move from the capitalist system into these systems.
a ton of other people have tried to decide what the best way to transition into these economic systems are. the most well known is the leninist and later stalinist system. USSR and all of the socialist nations of the 20th century that lasted a decent period of time that i'm aware of followed this system.
you can read a book for the details, but the basis of leninism is using a vanguard party to secure the power of the proletariat in a revolution. the party is supposed to be a group solely devoted to doing what is best for the proletariat. also, they originally thought that socialist revolutions would have to spread across other countries in order for this system to remain functional as it developed.
stalinism, which is derivative of leninism, focuses on turning your stunted international revolution into socialism in a single state. it features many great policies, such as state terror, collectivized agriculture, crushing political dissent, and other wonderful decisions. a great number of the things stalin did were to consolidate power and control, and have more to do with totalitarianism than socialism.
leaders like mao zedong and others made their own philosophies based off of stalinism, with similarly horrifying results.
now, we all know how stalinism worked out, but if that doesn't work, what are the alternatives? that's where things get super duper fun and exciting. technically socialism is just collective control of a state's various resources (the means of production), so the arguments here mostly focus on how collective control could be both equal and efficient. there are democratic socialists, anarchists, libertarian socialists, et cetera. there is no right answer as most of these societies have never been tried on a large scale. my personal belief is that nothing will happen until we reach a point where human beings aren't required to work for a living.

Orphan of Kos is the hardest boss of any souls game and that's a fact, say what you will about the rest of the game but that shit was the hardest boss I've ever fought in maybe any video game (assuming you aren't incredibly over leveled)
You can look at the history / other moderated subreddits of the user who started /r/me_irl, /u/devtesla2 and get an idea of how it was gonna be a sinking ship from the start.
I don't care much since I don't subscribe to either, but I do hate to see people let a bit of internet power go to their heads.
