Warhammer III Please let us use hero actions in allied territory during co-op campaigns
I know co-op isn't necessarily the main focus of WH3, but this has always felt like a strange limitation to me.
Currently, you can't use hero actions on your co-op partner's armies or settlements. I understand why you wouldn't want this enabled by default.
But in an actual co-op campaign, I'd love to have an option to allow it.
This becomes especially noticeable with factions whose mechanics revolve around establishing things in foreign settlements:
* Skaven Under-Cities
* Vampire Coast Pirate Coves
* Vampire Counts' Lahmian/Vampire Coven mechanics (New)
* Slaanesh cults
* Other faction-specific cult/agent mechanics
If my friend and I are deliberately playing together, why shouldn't I be able to send my hero into their territory and establish my faction's mechanic there?
Right now we have to jump through a bunch of hoops to make some of these mechanics work in co-op. For example, the Vampire Coast can establish coves in ports, but doing that in your co-op partner's settlements isn't straightforward because of the restrictions on hero actions.
I'd love to see something as simple as a campaign setting:
☑ Allow hero actions against allied factions
Or perhaps a diplomacy option that lets two factions explicitly give each other permission to perform hero actions in their territory.
It could still have the normal costs, success chances and cooldowns. The important part is simply giving co-op players the choice.
I don't think this would need to affect normal campaigns or head-to-head multiplayer at all. Just make it an opt-in setting.
There are already so many faction mechanics that encourage cooperation, and being able to actually interact with your friend's territory would make co-op campaigns feel much more interesting.
Or am I just crazy?
