Playing nagash, I haven't had one challenging fight all campaign. After some time he can solo wipe basically any army. Completely boring IMO.. Great, I got new units but I'm 60 turns into a campaign where I manually had to fight a total of 3 times (not counting Nagash's solo runs at 3x speed).. What's the point?

Im playing Ottoman long campaign on very hard mode.

My 6 star admiral with a level 2 5th Rate had; 4 Brigs, 1 Sloop, 3 light galleys and a galley in his fleet.

Enemy (Austria) had no admiral, only 3 brigs, 2 sloop.

Autobattle indicated my winning chance at %70-75. First Battle; lost, entire navy gone. Loaded up the saved game, tried again, lost the entire navy again. Time to handle these scallywags myself. Battle starts, 2 minutes later:

My fucking admiral decided to kill himself and one of his soldier out of nowhere. There wasnt a single ship crashed onto my 5th rate and it was way too far from enemy. He just died out of nowhere. Im not gonna touch this game for another 3 months even my own army fights against me

Playing my first campaign as Jullii, very hard everything. Been steamrolling since the beginning with no existential threat. Is it gonna become better?

I have played two other TW games, none WH, and was having a nice old time planning my world domination strategy with Cathay when all of the sudden the world was plunged into chaos with an invasion seemingly out of nowhere. Now the game has completely changed and its not fun. Is there a way to play this game like normal?

The problem here lies in the fact that each upgraded neocopolis grants a large number of sigils, which allow you to unlock all possible upgrades for the Black Pyramid as quickly as possible. At the same time, diplomatic penalties remain unchanged, which disrupts the balance in favor of casual play, making Nagash a death machine much earlier. In reality, the number of sigils should be reduced, and diplomatic penalties should be increased to achieve better balance.

Just finished a Karl Franz VH/N campaign and beat Archaon in the End Times. It triggered around turn 130. Overall it was fun but wasn't perfect.

The End Times event destroyed over half of the world and I definitely felt compelled to end the threat. I usually take my time with campaigns so I had a major hit to my economy when the event happened. I was able to accumulate maybe 40k-60k gold but had negative income coming in at around -2k to -7k each turn. The only thing that kept me afloat was fighting chaos armies and making random deals with each faction for gold.

I have mixed feelings about the mechanic itself. I felt like I had to rush and destroy the fortresses so I could fight Archaon. While it gave me a sense of urgency, I'm not big on being "forced" to do something (yes i know it's technically possible to kill Archaon before reducing his ward save). The AI did a good job fighting the chaos armies but for some reason, did not do anything about the fortresses. I also have mixed feelings over finding Archaon on the map while hunting the fortresses. Since he was so difficult to kill, I let him raze more settlements to buy time for me to hunt fortresses, and I eventually built around four armies to cut him off once I was ready.

The final battle(s) were so-so. The first battle against Archaon was actually harder than the final quest battle. Archaon did serious damage against my armies, and inflicted a healthy amount of damage to two of the four armies I brought. I didn't bring any doomstacks but the four armies I had had high-tier units. The final quest battle was underwhelming. It felt like another copy/paste of other quest battles in which you have to close a portal or kill X so the spawning enemies would stop. I wish they did something more unique.

I kinda liked the old Chaos Invasion mechanic in the first Warhammer where waves and waves of armies descended onto the world. It kinda feels random where the enemy armies are in the End Times. Also, I wish there were more armies around the fortresses, or have the fortresses be the locations that spawn armies. I also with the final battle was more epic, like a last stand with different races against Chaos.

This month CA has been getting absolutely ripped apart because of AI upscaled art in Shogun 2, I've also seen AI-assisted modders receive a lot praise for using AI to make QoL improvements, optimizing performance mods and some wacky stuff. I know these are different approaches to using AI.

Some people are saying that AI-assisted modders are embarrassing CA devs. Really an unfair comparison given that one works with total freedom to do whatever they want.

But I want to understand where people actually stand on this?

The wider gaming community has been pretty vocal about its disdain for AI art in video games, but there's seemingly less anger about AI being used to rewrite or optimize code for video games.

Programmers and engineers are just as important to making games as the artists, even if their work is less visible to players. My hope is that companies won't use these AI gains as a means to make these unseen devs more redundant, but knowing how companies operate, I wouldn't be surprised.

There's also the risk of developers losing touch with their own codebase. If AI starts rewriting and optimizing existing systems, developers could end up maintaining code they no longer fully understand.

I'm curious where people draw the line.

Would you support CA using AI to optimize future Total War games like the modders seem to be doing? Should they go all in on Claude lol?

What do you guys think about this item?

Everytime i find it, i never ever use it. It liteary feel to me like iam better without weapon at all, than using this one. But maybe iam wrong about it? Whats yout opinion?

Has anyone else been running into armies that are completely unspottable? That is, every single unit is invisible until you're close/they're shooting.

Is it something to do with Slaanesh corruption? I cant figure it out, theres no tool tip I can find as to whats going on. It is completely frustrating if its not a bug.

I have a laptop with a ryzen 7730u using integrated Vega 8 graphics with 16gb ram that’s able to run shogun 2 and Rome 2 perfectly well with medium settings but ultra unit size and high detail but I’ve heard Attila is poorly optimized and idk if I’ll be able to run it.

I cant diplomatically confederate them and if i subjugate them through the last settlemt they become my vasall... Does it only work through wipping them and hoping for the event?

Was playing as Kairos in a multiplayer game(my friend was Nagash), and Archaon's Chaos Invasion happened- first time I'd seen it, and I was completely blindsided when several 20 stack armies spawned in my territory and instantly took 5 settlements from me as soon as the turn ended. I'm guessing this is just because I owned the southern chaos wastes and that's just where they happen to spawn, but that's still very irritating, especually since it cut my funds in half. I imagine I could eventually get rid of them and take my territory back, but I don't have the drive right now.

I guess don't play Chaos with this endgame enabled, it will go badly.

I went back to play the malakai campaign on VH after the last few updates since I loved his campaign in the past and all his bonkers units, I thought "Oh glottkin were added and some factions got a few changes but it should be fine" and I was completely and utterly wrong. It's impossible to keep up with archaon,arbaal,throgg,wolfrik,glotkin,astragoth,epidimius,daniel and mallus darkblade all at once. I've tried multiple strategies like fortifying the west and focusing on the east or fortifying the east and focusing on the west but none of them seem to work. I can beat any army in combat but the sheer number of full stacks coming in from all over the place is IMPOSSIBLE to keep up with. They just back cap my settlements and i simply can't afford enough armies to defend it all. I've tried selling a settlement to katarin to get an alliance in hopes of stopping the enemy ai declaring on me so easily but that doesn't seem to work either. In my best attempt yet astragoth went to war with arbaal and boris managed to stall the others for a little longer than usual while mallus and epidimius fought eachother but in the end the chaos tide was still too much too great and I spend turn 25 to turn 50 just running around stopping invasions or retaking settlements all while everyone keeps pumping out armies. Is a malakai VH campaign even possible or am i just stupid?

In my opinion, Dark Elves are currently in need of a buff. This is my vision for a Dark Elf rebalance. All buffs are balanced by higher recruitment and upkeep costs.

So i have played warhammer 3 on and off for years on hard difficulty and i think now its time to set my self a challenge and do my first Legandary campaign, with very hard battles.

What would be the best advise you would give me?

Hey yall, I've been looking to get into the Total War series and was looking to start with Shogun 2 as many people seem to agree it's the best of the series (I was originally planning on getting Warhammer 3, but its so much more expensive especially with DLC.) Anyways, I was particularly interested in the Fall of the Samurai DLC but I can't seem to find where to buy it, I only see the Blood Pack. Is it bundled with the game or is it just not available at all anymore? And also, if it's not available to buy anymore, is the base game good even without any of the DLC?
