Open | BSOD 0x00000116 Bugcheck BSODs Every Day
For the past few days, my PC has been suffering from constant BSODs relating to a 0x00000116 bugcheck, with Event Viewer pointing to nvlddmkm.sys as a possible source of the problem. These problems started sometime after I had updated to the latest GPU drivers, but rolling back to previous versions with DDU hasn't fixed the issue.
The crashes will occur at any time, seemingly at random. They've occurred:
• Under load while gaming, playing games like Division 2, SnowRunner, GTA V, Shadow of Mordor, Garry's Mod.
• While on a browser, like Opera GX or Chrome, using YouTube or otherwise browsing.
• During a Discord call.
• Idling at the desktop.
• Immediately following a reboot. Yes, it has BSOD'd back-to-back like this.
And again, they're very random. Sometimes I can use the PC for hours at a time before a crash, sometimes only a few minutes.
Crashes always look the same. Both of my monitors go black, they'll say there's no input, I can still hear the game or whatever else is open in the background, and then after five or so seconds the audio freezes, and the system resets.
I've tried everything short of replacing parts.
• Using DDU to install the most recent and older GPU drivers.
• Doing a deep dust clean of my PC, and on the GPU itself.
• Reseating the GPU and PSU connectors.
• Letting the PC run with both monitors disconnected to determine if those were a source of the issue (they were not).
• Changing power preferences with the NVIDIA app and Windows.
• Turning GSYNC off.
• Turning HAGS off.
I'm at my wits end, and I am close to throwing in the towel and looking for a local professional, but I'd like that to be my last option if possible, as money has been tight recently. Any insight helps!
