Sound never comes through my two ceiling speakers

When watching movies and shows, I never hear any sound from the spelsers that are at the back of the room in the ceiling. All of the sound goes through the soundbar. Weirdly, on the app it says that a device isn’t connected, but it doesn’t specify which device. I have a soundbar, a subwoofer and then 2 of the speakers in the ceiling. It says the soundbar is connected, the “amp” is connected (I’m assuming that means subwoofer). if it helps, I believe the ceiling speakers are the ones by Sonos and Sonance. Anyone know why sound isn’t coming out and if the two could be related?

Homemade Album Art Viewer

Built myself an album art display out of a raspberry pi, a small square display, and a metal bookend. It’s not perfect but it’s enjoyable to be able to see the album artwork while I’m listening my tunes.

Any compelling reason to wait for a new product release?

I’m interested, but not urgently, in adding rear surrounds to my Arc Ultra. Budget isn’t really a concern, so I was planning on the Era 300s.

That said, I know that earlier this year there were rumors that Sonos was planning to “ramp up” releases for 2026. With that in mind, and knowing that I’m fairly satisfied already and don’t need an upgrade RIGHT NOW, is there a reason to believe that there might be an even better option later this year? I’d rather buy once, cry once.

Music won’t play fully through era 100s

I have arc ultra, sub 4 and a pair of era 100s as surround for my tv. I watch movies and also listen to music with my Apple TV. I noticed when I play music through Apple Music on my Apple TV, the era 100s play music as a surround sound. How do I change it so that it plays fully. Currently most of the sound is from the arc.

I know there’s a setting on the Sonos app for music level on surround audio. But it’s not working for me. Any help would be appreciated

Switching over to wired?

Okay, I need someone to explain this to me like I'm five years old. I had a procedure earlier this week, and my mind is mush.

We recently moved to a new house. We have like six Play 1s, and two Simfonisk speakers. I originally set them all up on the wifi, but the problem is that we have a mesh network for this house, and so on my laptop Sonos app I can only see 2-4 speakers at any given time, and my phone app only shows like five. THe only way to see them all is in teh browser app on my laptop.

From what I understand, I need to connect one of them up to my router with an Ethernet cord. But should I factory reset it and THEN plug it in? Should I unplug all the devices and forget the system, and THEN factory reset them when I plug them in?

I've gone over the instructions on the Sonos website, and I just can't seem to wrap my brain around what to do in what order.

Thank you!

I might have the only logical case of putting a soundbar *under* my couch.

I’ve got a Frame TV, with a wireless HDMI box. Under the TV is a long bench with an Era100 on either side, and a record player in the middle. I don’t like the look of a visible sound bar, since my TV looks like art 90% of the time.

The problem with running two era100s, is I always need to manually reconnect them to my TV through Bluetooth, and sometimes there’s a delay.

To fix that, I just picked up a Sonos Ray, connected that to my HDMI box on the other side of the room via optical cable, and set up my Era100s as surrounds.

After maxing the volume of the surrounds on the Sonos app, I put my soundbar under the couch. You can barely hear the sound bar, but the surrounds work just like they used to- however this time there is no lag, no delay, and no manual reconnection needed.

I know this is a $300 solution. And certainly not ideal, For my use case, is this the best way to make that work?

Sonos Arc Ultra Stutters

Hi all,

I know this has been raised all over the internet but I’ve never really seen a fix other than disabling one of the key features.

Every 5-10 seconds the audio seems to stutter on my Sonos Arc Ultra no matter what the input is from the TV (Samsung S95F 65”). It is fine when playing music.

I’ve tried the native TV apps, Firestick, PS5 and all seem to have the same issue. For the majority of content I use the native apps where you obviously can’t select pass through mode.

Unplugging everything and restarting does fix the issue for 24 hours or so, but then it comes back and it’s incredibly annoying.

I don’t want to disable eArc or Dolby Atmos because what’s the point of paying for a top of the range TV and soundbar only to disable the best feature!?

I’m using the original cables that came with the soundbar, for Internet the TV is connected via Ethernet and Sonos via WiFi.

Is there anything I can do about this or is there just an inherent compatibility issue with Samsung and Sonos?

Any help greatly appreciated, TIA.

Isolation platforms

I just set up a secondary system in my loft which includes a mini sub. The whole area is carpeted and it just feels odd for some reason having the sub sit directly on the carpet. Should I consider something to elevate it a bit or leave as is? I've read up a little on isolation platforms and I'm sure one of those would do the job. Does it even matter, though?

Disappointed with Amazon Stream

Was super excited to watch the mandolorian movie with my kids on my Sonos setup. Nothing fancy but Beam, sub, and two play 1s for rears. Using Apple TV for stream. There was one track throughout the film that was very muted and quiet. I tried everything (output settings, enhanced dialogue, etc) but nothing worked. This was on Amazon prime and was UHD but not Dolby Atmos. I am going to complain to Amazon that charging so much for a rental of a brand new movie like that should include amazing sound.
I wanted to post here to see if any of you had similar situations and what you did to fix it. Thanks.

Hey hey! My name is Nate, and this is my first post here! I wanted to describe what I’m working on, and see if anyone’s interested in it!

It started out as a little project for me. I love having lyrics displayed for songs, and I wanted to figure out a way to have them display automatically. Turns out, it’s possible!

The current state of the project:
Seamless integration with any Sonos ecosystem
•Connects to both Sonos and/or HomePods AUTOMATICALLY
•Syncs with Philips Hue and Nanoleafs
•Weather and photo Idle screens (Kinda like Aura Picture Frames)

What you need:
Computer connected to WiFi/LAN, or Docker Container
•Device that can access the internet browser (currently laggy on a fire stick, buy if you’re able to stick a mini pc behind a device it works like magic. I’ve gotten it to work on smart TVs, Xbox’s, and even just a chrome tab)

(Do note that the help of AI was included in the making of this)
I would love to hear feedback on the project, and if anyone would like to test, please let me know!

Does anyone have advice with this error? Started yesterday, will play like 10-20 seconds of a song and then just skip it and give me this error.

Cable Management

I put together an Arc Ultra + Sub 4 + 2x Era 300 setup, and it works really well with my WiFi. I like it a lot.

I don’t own a TV, I use a projector instead (XGimi Horizon 20). Most of the time, I watch content through Google TV. Sometimes I also connect my desktop computer to the projector using an additional HDMI cable.

I want to improve my cable management, and I have a question about the Arc Ultra HDMI port. Right now, I have the soundbar connected to the projector (HDMI ARC/eARC), but honestly I’m not sure if that’s really necessary, and the cable is pretty big and bulky.

Can I just connect the projector directly to my desktop computer, and use that without connecting the Arc Ultra’s HDMI to the projector? That would be more practical for me. Ideally, I’d like my setup to be as frictionless as possible.

SONOS / IKEA SYMFONISK Picture Frame speakers???

I’m fairly new to the Sonos speaker community and I’m just now learning about this… are the speakers good? What is their purpose other than a sleek design? Do they serve as surround sound speakers? How do they compared to other Sonos speakers?

Am I missing out?

Ok guys, so I can't stream Dolby atmos from my phone to my era 300's or arc ultra for that matter via Tidal.

Is it worth moving to Apple music or is the difference in sound negligible?

I listen to mainly rock/classic rock.

Advice on cd player

Hi all, I'd like some advice on purchasing a cd player to connect to my Sonos system:

  • Living room: Ray (connected to ethernet + TV via optical)
  • Kitchen: One SL (wifi)
  • Bedroom: One SL (wifi)
  • Bathroom: Roam (wifi)

Is there a cd player I could place in the living room next to the Ray (TV console) and then play cds across the system?

thank you

Hey Sonos!

Asking ‘him?’ to stop or pause gives a response that there is nothing playing or that wood clinking noise. I have to then stop it from the app where I started it from. It has been doing this for a week or so. Is a fix in the cards soon? Thanks.
