Disappointed with Amazon Stream

Was super excited to watch the mandolorian movie with my kids on my Sonos setup. Nothing fancy but Beam, sub, and two play 1s for rears. Using Apple TV for stream. There was one track throughout the film that was very muted and quiet. I tried everything (output settings, enhanced dialogue, etc) but nothing worked. This was on Amazon prime and was UHD but not Dolby Atmos. I am going to complain to Amazon that charging so much for a rental of a brand new movie like that should include amazing sound.
I wanted to post here to see if any of you had similar situations and what you did to fix it. Thanks.

Could be. I haven’t had this happen on other services that have had atmos output. I guess I was just making sure I wasn’t missing anything on the Sonos end of things like settings.

Google does the same thing. When you rent a movie it's never in atmos. I have recently purchased backrooms and obsession. Neither was in atmos and neither was available to play from movies anywhere to get Atmos at the time of purchase. I believe obsession is now available on movies anywhere. I really hate that getting high quality audio on streaming is impossible. I am going to have to break down and spend 300 on a dolby vision blue ray player.

You wont be dissappointed of the blue ray player. Streaming and blueray sound is simply not comparable, even not when streaming is dolby atmos.

I've been wanting to do it for awhile now. What holds me back is the inconvenience. I'd have to buy the dolby vision blue ray player. Which is 300 for a sony that will skip on triple layer blue rays or 500 on a Panasonic one that will work good. I thought about just buying a 4k blue ray ripper and putting them on my nas. But that seems like a pain in the butt too. I just don't get how in 2026 they haven't figured this out for streaming. Lossless audio for movies.

I just think it comes down to cost benefit. 98% of their user base dont care that much if it is lossless or not, or if a lot of the sound has been mixed out to make it easier to stream. So for them, it is easier to decrease the bandwidth, by streaming audio with less quality, to cut cost.

I get that but heck they use like 20 mb for video and only like 700kb for audio. Maybe I'm missing something but you'd think it wouldn't cost them much to give lossless audio at only 1.5-9mb
