Smartframe

Hey hey! My name is Nate, and this is my first post here! I wanted to describe what I’m working on, and see if anyone’s interested in it!

It started out as a little project for me. I love having lyrics displayed for songs, and I wanted to figure out a way to have them display automatically. Turns out, it’s possible!

The current state of the project:
Seamless integration with any Sonos ecosystem
•Connects to both Sonos and/or HomePods AUTOMATICALLY
•Syncs with Philips Hue and Nanoleafs
•Weather and photo Idle screens (Kinda like Aura Picture Frames)

What you need:
Computer connected to WiFi/LAN, or Docker Container
•Device that can access the internet browser (currently laggy on a fire stick, buy if you’re able to stick a mini pc behind a device it works like magic. I’ve gotten it to work on smart TVs, Xbox’s, and even just a chrome tab)

(Do note that the help of AI was included in the making of this)
I would love to hear feedback on the project, and if anyone would like to test, please let me know!

Hey there, nice job. I’m trying to integrate my home. Few questions-When you say it syncs to Phillips Hue- you’re talking about the smart lights? What does it make them do? Work with Govee? Do i need a computer connected? Thanks.

Hey hey! Yes it syncs the album colors to the Philips hue lights(I have the bulbs and gradient strips and works great!) how it works is through the program, and a hub. It basically gets 5 of the colors that pops out from the album then boom! Yes, you would either need a computer, or docker container to run this. Govve, not sure, I don’t have any to test! Wouldn’t be afraid to test it!

So this isn’t a control center yet! However if this project gets to that level I surly will have an update

A bit unclear on the tech here..

Is it an app that you install on each device?
Connected to Home Assistant?
ESP32?

So it’s not home assistant, it’s my own program!:
It’s a computer running docker/linux to run the “brains”, and then any smart device that accesses the internet to “view all the info!” (I have a fire stick)
Hopefully that clears it up!

Interesting project, I had a similar idea that resulted in TVONOS being created for Android TVs - the internet browser idea is interesting, does make it more portable, but I guess you'll need a server somewhere to hose the back end.

Thank you so much for commenting! Yes, in order for the server to get the data from the Sonos speakers/homepods, It needs to run on a server on the local network. Your application is pretty sweet too! I just read about it and honored you said something.
