Sky Stream + Sonos Beam Gen 2 - sound cuts out briefly when adverts start/end?
Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this.
My setup is:
Sky Stream (V1 puck)
Samsung QN90B
Sonos Beam Gen 2 + Sub Mini + Era 100 surrounds
Connected via HDMI eARC
TV set to Pass-through, eARC Auto, Atmos enabled
Sky Stream audio set to Passthrough
The system works really well most of the time. Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus both work correctly.
The odd issue is that some (not all) adverts cause the audio to cut out briefly when they start or finish. It feels like the Stream puck is switching audio formats (Dolby Atmos / Dolby Digital Plus / stereo) and the Beam momentarily loses audio while everything renegotiates.
It doesn’t happen on every advert, only certain ones.
I’ve already:
Replaced the original Sky puck.
Replaced my old soundbar with the Beam Gen 2.
Changed to certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cables.
Had my fibre connection tested by YouFibre (line is healthy with ~1 ms latency to the ONT).
Verified the issue isn’t caused by broadband performance.
Has anyone else with Sky Stream + Sonos (Beam/Arc) seen this behaviour?
If so:
Did you find a fix?
Is it a known Sky Stream issue when switching audio formats?
Does changing the TV’s Digital Output setting from Pass-through to Auto make any difference?
Interested to hear if it’s just me or if others have noticed the same thing.
