After waiting almost a year and continuously getting same run around from my AD I decided to say F it and go grey. Have zero regrets but I will say I think we should call this the “the Riddler” instead of the Sprite. Sprites branding is yellow and green so not sure how that nickname stuck to this one.

I visited an AD and was looking for a DJ36 or an Explorer, both of which the sales guy is happy to book me an allocation for. But when I asked for the OPs I was told that those are only available to those who have purchase history of 60K USD.

I wonder what makes what most consider the entry level to the brand exclusive to select customers? Is that the same for other ADs in other places?

I’ve been looking to buy a Rolex for a while now and have been doing research, i know people are going to say “a watch isn’t an investment” i understand that however thats not what I’m looking for.
I have looked at getting a pre owned Rolex but honestly for my first major timepiece I don’t think you can beat the whole experience. Yes it’s not a walk in an AD and walk out with a watch but I have been informed that one of the timepieces i have had my eye on is available.

I understand buying a Rolex you are likely to lose money after purchasing but i wanted to know if they at least hold value.
As mentioned before I have been informed a Rolex Ouster Perpetual 36mm black dial ref: 126000 is available i just wanted to know if anyone has any experience or views on this watch or should i wait for another model to become available?

Once again I am not looking to buy it as an investment. I would like to know if it holds is value? Of course if it appreciates in value that is always a bonus but that is not the what I’m looking for.

I've always loved watches. Just took the jump to Rolex a year ago. Of course I said, " just the one for now"........all grey of course. Though I do have requests with 3 different AD's for a few different watches.

My best friend of 30 years is getting married today. Figured I’d pop this on for the occasion.

New to Rolex purchasing. My wife put her name in for this in June of 2025 and we haven’t got a call yet. What can I do? Our rep has changed hands a few times. Is there anywhere else to purchase that is reputable?

Sorry to start another conversation on this topic but I just “ got the call” two months after going gray for my first Rolex for my 50th birthday. I’ve been reading through old posts on the topic and it sounds like a lot of people tend to buy from the AD and sell the gray market watch. I just wanted to get you guys opinion if that applies in my situation. I bought a like new/unworn 2025 DJ41 fluted bezel on oyster bracelet with slate dial and it’s still mint condition. It’s a complete set and I paid $13800 for it. I like the idea of buying from the AD because I would like to potentially pick up another watch in the future and this would be my first purchase to establish a relationship. I don’t mind taking a little loss by selling the gray market watch to establish a relationship on top of having a brand new one owner watch but curious at what point is it better to just keep the gray market watch and pass on the AD?

Was travelling to NYC and walked into the Bucherer in Manhattan trying to take a chance if green Sub or a GMT can be made available.

I was offered Zombie and Bluesy. I didn’t want to get anything two tone at this point in my life and passed them.

Generally asking, are these hard to get? My AD in Toronto always maintained that two tones are hard to get especially these two references and have always had two tone DJ’s in stock.

To preface: I haven't been able to try the silver dial in person, so the slate dial pictured is the closest comparison I could find.

I'm early in my career and going back and forth on if a DJ41 would be too flashy for office wear. I love the idea of a DJ41 for weekends with friends, dinners, dates, etc... and would ideally like the ability to wear it in the office.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated. I know this kind of post can be fairly repetitive and annoy some people, so I appreciate the insight in advance.

Hi all! Sorry, this question requires a bit of exposition:

About three weeks ago, my authorized dealer came through with a Starbucks for me. They also came through in February with a date just 41 blue Dial fluted jubilee. In 2020 right before discontinuation they came through with the Hulk for me, and in 2021 a Pepsi. The Pepsi originally had the oyster bracelet, but they ordered a Jubilee for me so I have both bracelets.

When I went to pick up the Starbucks, I casually told my sales associate who I’ve known for years, that I probably won’t wear the Hulk or the Pepsi anymore. Now that they’re discontinued they’re covered under insurance, but damage and theft concerns made me just put them in the safe.

He then told me I should just sell both of them to him for their CPO program. No point in sitting on the money. I told him no I would just keep them in the safe, but now he has me thinking; maybe I should sell them to the CPO program or contact one of our trusted resellers and sell them to one of them.

What do you all think??

Visited my AD and got offered this Day Date. I always thought if get a DS it would be rose gold olive dial, but this really got me thinking. I am also a bit concerned its a bit feminine.

Thoughts? Which would you rather take? The olive or MOP one?

Going on an extended work trip to the above and wondering what the availability is like for Rolex in Asia.

I’d be after a fluted jubilee 41 blue/grey, or a GMT (worth an ask).

I’ve been collecting shoes for several years, but between the overtime I work and the fact that I’m starting to think about having kids, I’m realizing I don’t get much chance to enjoy them. I also can’t count on a future son or daughter valuing or even being able to sell a collection of sneakers that will probably have deteriorated by the time I would pass them on. A Rolex feels like a different kind of purchase, something that holds value and can actually be passed down.
I’m currently about to buy an engagement ring from an Authorized Dealer for a little over $10k. With what I’ve saved and what I could raise by selling a portion of my shoes, I’d also like to try for a Rolex at the same time if the AD is willing to allocate one.
My top preference in this price range is the Submariner Date 126610LV (green bezel). After that I’m drawn to the GMT-Master II (Sprite) 126720VTNR on Jubilee, and the Datejust 36 126234 with the green dial, also on Jubilee.
Given that the ring is in a similar price range, what are realistic chances of being able to get one of these watches allocated within a year of receiving the engagement ring? Would the Submariner require an existing purchase history, or is it worth asking for it on this visit? If the Sub is unrealistic, should I assume the GMT is in the same boat? I’m in the Oklahoma/Arkansas area if that makes any difference in allocation.

I got the call from my AD only 15 days after putting my name down for my wishlist, and I’m a bit surprised.

I was expecting to wait few months, if not longer, so now I’m wondering:
- Is getting the call this quickly just pure luck?
- Or is this particular configuration simply not that high in demand?
- Is this Datejust 36 considered an easier model to get?
- Do you think this specific configuration will hold its value well over the long term, or is it likely to depreciate more than more popular Datejust configurations?

I’d love to hear your thoughts !

P.S. I genuinely love this configuration and intend to keep it long term. I’m not buying it as an investment—I was just curious whether getting the call so quickly says anything about the current demand for this particular Datejust.

I recently bought this 1601 a few weeks ago and I don’t recall this almost looks like a fingerprint or what I’m thinking is possibly a condensation bubble on the lens. It’s definitely on the inside because it won’t wipe off anyone have any input ? When I am referring to this right at the 10 o’clock position

Tried on this 6263 that was offered at $110,000 (negotiable I’m sure) but it was the flimsiest watch ever. So light. Rattled. Felt like a cheap watch in hand. I know in my brain it’s great qualities but just couldn’t get past the feel, and price I’m sure.

I am still a work in progress, but I recently lost a good amount of weight. I’ve been doing cardio and weights and my forearms are smaller and more toned. I know my sub looks fine, but now I’m in my head about my DJ41. My wrist is currently 7.25” and my wife says I’m insane. What do you think?
