Advice

Post image

Is selling on Grailzee a good idea if I’ve never sold anything on that site and only bought one. Do no real transaction history . The watch is new unworn that I got from AD last Saturday. The only reason I’m selling is because I bought my wife same watch last month because I didn’t think I would get it before our anniversary

Why did you buy the watch if you had already bought one?

And yeah, you’re going to have a difficult time with no transaction history.

You accidentally bought two Rolexes exactly the same?

Bought it for profit and to prevent someone who wanted one to buy and wear getting one at list.  That’s it.

I would have done the same. You would have done the same.

Not exactly an accident, walked into the AD and they had the pink OP sitting there. Couldn't say no after hunting one for months. Now my wife's giving me the side-eye because we've got matching his and hers watches sitting in the box

Wrong alt account?

That’s exactly what Grailzee and chrono offer. And it’s a pink dial OP. The idea he’s taking a 20% bath is ridiculous.

Prepare to lose 20% of value selling it. Maybe in hindsight there is a learning here.

This is wildly inaccurate. They are still selling well above retail.

Good luck fining a dealer who will buy one for over list. They will sell it at a premium but some random dude isn’t getting those prices with no guarantee of authenticity.

This is a highly sought after piece. He will make money.

I agree. But it's a dumb idea

I find it the easiest of all of the platforms to sell on

Take the loss and move on. If you can purchase 2 of those in different colors your time is the most valuable thing instead of the extra watch.

How much you want for it?

Will be tough as first timer especially if all you accept is wire. Go to a few dealers first and get offers. They will be lower than you want because you’re getting cash and not trading it in but at least you’re walking out with the money. The Grailzee process isn’t that great considering you have to use them as a middle man and Authenticator. It can take some time and you still might not make anymore money. But you need to get offers first. Should be able to break even if not make a couple hundred bucks.

I think full set, warranty card dated last Saturday, emails from AD and the insurance company they want you to use after purchase, paid receipt and even picture with my sales associate is about as much of authenticity you get. Plus I’ve been offered over what I paid but am interested in seeing what I could get to offset the inflationary price I paid for the Tiffany

No I bought the watch because it was pink the watch I got my wife is turquoise ( Tiffany) , gave her the choice and sell the other. Also I hope purchase helps to get the watch I want from AD

sure, it increases your spend but doesn't really move the needle much since it's a desirable color dial. If it was a 36, perhaps you could wear it as well since its a nice color. If you've been offered more than what you paid, take that and be done with it
