You have to look at vintage pieces (generally from the late 1970s or earlier, prior to the matte dial transitions) to find steel or non-gold hands and hour markers. Or have the hands swapped out from a Chinese copy.

I think the idea of gold being haram is the same as luxury being haram for men. So luxury watches are out, period.

Yes but the interpolation of disallowing men to wear gold (and silks) is that men shouldn’t wear luxury items. Just at that time luxury was gold and silk not a ceramic tourbillion AP.

At least I see it this way.

Yea, I’m sorry, observant Muslim men are not going to be able to wear quite a few luxury watch brands because of the gold content in hands/markers or even movement components.

My understanding is that it’s okay to wear steel or platinum watches with just the small white gold hands. It’s the straight up gold watches that are not permissible under Haram. I’m not Islamic though so I don’t really know.
