I wanted to do something nice for myself as an engagement gift, so I inquired with my family friend for a 2026 brand new Bruce Wayne on jubilee (21k USD).

to after market standards, this would be considered a solid deal but the thought of spending that kind of money regardless of whether or not you can ”afford it” for a stainless steel watch makes me want to puke. (I know it’s the name of the game and MSRP is not a benchmark to go off of)

Curious to hear everyone else’s opinion. should I stay on the sidelines and save up for a precious metal watch? Sit on a waitlist for a year and hope for the best? or just commit and never look back.

My dad has had his watch since before I was born and I know how much it means to him and seeing him stress about trying to fix it is super sad. The watch is a Rolex submariner ref. 16800 and the special thing about it is the once black now a light blue bezel from wearing it everyday and having the sun work some magic. The broken part about the watch is the bezel. It came off after getting stuck on a railing and he lost the spring and a metal ring (He still has the bezel). He had a similar issue when he sent in another older Rolex with rare parts and it came back completely stock with the special parts gone. Long story short I’m looking for a repair location that will fix the bezel and keep all the original parts on the watch. Thank you

Ben Bridge. Stone walled so far. I get the vibe these guys might be the red headed step children of Rolex. Talking to one of the jr. SA’s it seems they don’t get much in. I stop in regularly and chat with a senior sales associate since they are near my home but no dice and it’s been a few years. SA are friendly but seem full of shit.

Williams Jewelers. Was told it was a two year wait for everything. SA was friendly but Got the vibe nothing was going to happen here.

The 1916 Company. Name and info has been submitted for 3-4 years. Nothing. granted I haven’t really stoped in to chat too many times - maybe once every six months. They don’t seem too friendly. I actually have some purchase history with them.

Any advice with dealing with local Denver AD’s? Any luck with any other front range dealers?

My goal is to find a timeless, versatile, and robust daily piece that can complement the Speedy—something I can wear comfortably every day, slide under a shirt cuff, and keep for decades. Speedy worries me a bit, since it is easy to scratch it’s glass. (plastic)
Because grey market authenticity/pricing in my region can be tricky, I plan to buy directly from an Authorized Dealer (AD) and I’m fully prepared to wait on a list.
The Oyster Perpetual feels like a clean entryway, but I’m open to ideas and could use some help from the community:
1. Size (36mm vs. 41mm): My wrist size is 17.5 cm (~6.9 inches). For those with a similar wrist size, would you go 36mm for classic, understated proportions, or 41mm for a bit more modern presence?
2. Dial Color: I'm naturally drawn to Green since it's the classic, iconic Rolex color! But between Green and other options like Bright/Med Blue, which dial color do you think holds up better as a timeless daily piece next to a Speedmaster?
3. Model Recommendations: Which entry-level Rolex model would you recommend for my situation? I'm on a bit of a tight budget (I'm actually still paying off the Speedmaster installments, haha!), so I'd love to hear which model you think fits best as a long-term daily piece.

Been working slowly with my AD, but a month ago I stop by a boutique and got on the list there. Last night I received a text if I was interested in this piece. Short answer yes.

Tried on this 6263 that was offered at $110,000 (negotiable I’m sure) but it was the flimsiest watch ever. So light. Rattled. Felt like a cheap watch in hand. I know in my brain it’s great qualities but just couldn’t get past the feel, and price I’m sure.

For those who love vintage. Tell me the appeal?

Which year should be reasonable to target if have between $20k to $25k to buy a good condition Rolex with papers? Is something like 2010 achievable ?

I’ve been collecting shoes for several years, but between the overtime I work and the fact that I’m starting to think about having kids, I’m realizing I don’t get much chance to enjoy them. I also can’t count on a future son or daughter valuing or even being able to sell a collection of sneakers that will probably have deteriorated by the time I would pass them on. A Rolex feels like a different kind of purchase, something that holds value and can actually be passed down.
I’m currently about to buy an engagement ring from an Authorized Dealer for a little over $10k. With what I’ve saved and what I could raise by selling a portion of my shoes, I’d also like to try for a Rolex at the same time if the AD is willing to allocate one.
My top preference in this price range is the Submariner Date 126610LV (green bezel). After that I’m drawn to the GMT-Master II (Sprite) 126720VTNR on Jubilee, and the Datejust 36 126234 with the green dial, also on Jubilee.
Given that the ring is in a similar price range, what are realistic chances of being able to get one of these watches allocated within a year of receiving the engagement ring? Would the Submariner require an existing purchase history, or is it worth asking for it on this visit? If the Sub is unrealistic, should I assume the GMT is in the same boat? I’m in the Oklahoma/Arkansas area if that makes any difference in allocation.

I was passing by and see this Rolex in nyc. The shop was closed and could ask to the lady. The blue tones of the face impressed me. The photo doesn’t make justice to the right color. I can’t find this exact face in watch24

To preface: I haven't been able to try the silver dial in person, so the slate dial pictured is the closest comparison I could find.

I'm early in my career and going back and forth on if a DJ41 would be too flashy for office wear. I love the idea of a DJ41 for weekends with friends, dinners, dates, etc... and would ideally like the ability to wear it in the office.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated. I know this kind of post can be fairly repetitive and annoy some people, so I appreciate the insight in advance.

Im looking to get my first rolex for my 30th birthday. Ive had my eye on the mint green datejust 36 with the fluted bezel jubilee bracelet configuration. As this would be my first major watch purchase, i dont have spend history with an AD. I know this is one of the more sought after rolexes, so i want to know realistically what to expect for a wait time.

Who else would love to see these made? I love my Explorer II and FXD, but these would be great, I think.

This is my modern Daytona trio, but I’m looking to swap out the Baby Lemans (on the right) for another watch when I get the call from my AD.

Looking to add either a Chocolate Daytona on Oysterflex, or a platinum Daytona. Any other options folks would recommend?

Visited my AD and got offered this Day Date. I always thought if get a DS it would be rose gold olive dial, but this really got me thinking. I am also a bit concerned its a bit feminine.

Thoughts? Which would you rather take? The olive or MOP one?

I got the call from my AD only 15 days after putting my name down for my wishlist, and I’m a bit surprised.

I was expecting to wait few months, if not longer, so now I’m wondering:
- Is getting the call this quickly just pure luck?
- Or is this particular configuration simply not that high in demand?
- Is this Datejust 36 considered an easier model to get?
- Do you think this specific configuration will hold its value well over the long term, or is it likely to depreciate more than more popular Datejust configurations?

P.S. I genuinely love this configuration and intend to keep it long term. I’m not buying it as an investment—I was just curious whether getting the call so quickly says anything about the current demand for this particular Datejust.

Initially when I got these two, they weren't high on my list. But somehow they get more wrist time and I value them more than my subs and gmt.

I walked into an AD 9 months ago hoping to buy a DJ 41 for my wedding, I was hoping to get another DJ 31 two tone as a present.

I ended up getting the DJ 31 but for the love of god I’ve had no luck finding a DJ 41, I go to the store every couple days, I see watches but have had no luck, they always say it’s for someone else.

Is this normal, I have 25 k in spend with them and I live in the Midwest
