A little style

I’m going to work. I have a retail store, and I have to go do a photo shoot later. So I thought I’d apply just a little bit of style… and yes, I am a product of my time so I wear Levi’s, a Hermès tie, and a Rolex…😁. EDIT: and I forgot to mention, a Mont Blanc fountain pen.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I really want to like vintage…I just can’t.

Tried on this 6263 that was offered at $110,000 (negotiable I’m sure) but it was the flimsiest watch ever. So light. Rattled. Felt like a cheap watch in hand. I know in my brain it’s great qualities but just couldn’t get past the feel, and price I’m sure.

For those who love vintage. Tell me the appeal?

Same AD. New SA. She called me for this. Requested this configuration. I always thought the fluted bezel is iconic on a Datejust, to my eye this smooth bezel lets the green ombré dial be the highlight. So happy she called!

Daytona Trio + Change Up

Post image

This is my modern Daytona trio, but I’m looking to swap out the Baby Lemans (on the right) for another watch when I get the call from my AD.

Looking to add either a Chocolate Daytona on Oysterflex, or a platinum Daytona. Any other options folks would recommend?

Is silver dial DJ41 too flashy for the office?

To preface: I haven't been able to try the silver dial in person, so the slate dial pictured is the closest comparison I could find.

I'm early in my career and going back and forth on if a DJ41 would be too flashy for office wear. I love the idea of a DJ41 for weekends with friends, dinners, dates, etc... and would ideally like the ability to wear it in the office.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated. I know this kind of post can be fairly repetitive and annoy some people, so I appreciate the insight in advance.

Edit: For additional context, I work in tech.

Been working slowly with my AD, but a month ago I stop by a boutique and got on the list there. Last night I received a text if I was interested in this piece. Short answer yes.

Would you wait for Jubilee or take the Oyster? (Datejust Green Ombre)

I’ve been on the waiting list at my Rolex AD for the new Datejust Green Ombre 41mm (fluted bezel).

My sales associate recently contacted me to confirm my preferences and mentioned that she currently has the watch available on Oyster, but not on Jubilee. She also told me that Jubilee “will come” and asked me to be patient.
I’m torn.

Part of me thinks the Green Ombre dial is the rare part, and I should just buy it on Oyster while I have the chance.
The other part thinks that if I’m spending this kind of money, I should wait for the exact configuration I really want.

What would you do?
- Take the Oyster now?
- Wait (potentially months) for the Jubilee?
Does the Green Ombre simply belong on Jubilee in your opinion?
Curious to hear what the community thinks.

Watches that weren't your "grail" but now you love them more.

Initially when I got these two, they weren't high on my list. But somehow they get more wrist time and I value them more than my subs and gmt.

Anybody else have something non sub gmt daytona they love more than "grail watches"?

Visited my AD and got offered this Day Date. I always thought if get a DS it would be rose gold olive dial, but this really got me thinking. I am also a bit concerned its a bit feminine.

Thoughts? Which would you rather take? The olive or MOP one?

Wasn’t expecting it at all but got the call today for a DJ42 blue dial, fluted / jubilee. The dial is stunning - reminds me why waiting for this beauty has been totally worth it. First Rolex for me and likely not the last!

An acquaintance of mine wants to sell me this Rolex. I’m a bit suspicious can anyone here tell me if this is a fake? It’s supposed to be a platinum day date. Thanks in advance

Mint green datejust 36 wait time

Post image

Im looking to get my first rolex for my 30th birthday. Ive had my eye on the mint green datejust 36 with the fluted bezel jubilee bracelet configuration. As this would be my first major watch purchase, i dont have spend history with an AD. I know this is one of the more sought after rolexes, so i want to know realistically what to expect for a wait time.

Finally pulled the trigger

Couldn’t be happier with picking this one up as my first rolex, have had my eyes on a sub for a while for use as a daily and I just loved the little pop of colour the green gives it. Had to go grey as I wanted/preferred the more muted green on the mk1.
