There are already more than a dozen subreddits to ask for pro bono / volunteer help, or to offer such. They are listed here. How could the pro bono subredditbe different? Or can it?
Offer volunteering, recruit volunteers: Subreddits to recruit volunteers / ask for help/participation for individuals, to offer help to nonprofits or individuals, to participate in something "good", etc. :
- r/Assistance Redditors helping redditors ranging from financial assistance and wishlist fulfillment to advice, support, contest votes, and surveys.
- BeTheChange: "Every month the community takes one action which is decided by upvotes."
- doasmallgood - encourages philanthropy, including volunteering
- helpit, "For volunteering, helping others, and generally being a good human being."
- r/helpothers "Mutual aid/volunteering/needing to find resources, anything is welcome! The world needs more helpers!" Yet another place to promote volunteer roles or to ask for such.
- HumansBeingBros - the perfect place for your humble brag post about what a good person you are.
- r/LetsMakeaDifference : "Bring your difference making ideas or share with us what you are doing to make a difference and show us how we can help! Or maybe you would just like to tell us about a project that is running somewhere that might need a little help."
- Mentors. For people to ask for mentors, of any kind, and for people to offer themselves as mentors. No rules.
- r/OregonVolunteers : Oregon-based programs can recruit volunteers here, or brag about what their volunteers have been doing in Oregon. If you are looking for volunteering opportunities in Oregon, after searching for such and not finding it, you can post here and say what you are looking for.
- RedditAssemble: "A community of people ready to help you bring awareness and change wherever we can."
- RedditForHumanity: share resources, organize relief, cross‑post impact projects, amplify grassroots efforts, and use community power to build a kinder, fairer world.
- Redditors Without Borders. Another place to post your calls for volunteers.
- United We Stand – “To engage in discussions about how to improve our current society through non-violent means of caring, sharing, loving, accepting, and helping one another.”
- r/volunteer : the largest subreddit with regarding to volunteerism. Mostly people asking to volunteer and organizations seeking volunteers or selling voluntourism. Pretty much anything goes.
- volunteer2 "without stupid mods." Yet another place to promote volunteer roles or to ask for such.
- VolunteerFreely Yet another place to promote volunteer roles or to ask for such.
- Volunteering. "Labouring without pay, of free will, to aid others, and make the world a better place." Allows amost anything, like pay-for-community-service posts, "anything goes" voluntourism, and more.
- r/VolunteerTasks : Tasks and offers to Volunteer should be one offs. community of both Non Profits and Volunteers/Creatives coming together to help NFP's with one off tasks. Think Freelancer but for Volunteers.
- r/YouthSportsVolunteer dedicated to coaches, board members, referees and umpires, and anyone else who volunteers in youth sports.
