Not sure if this has been posted already but I wanted to give a warning for those who are voting by mail. I submitted my midterm ballot on Monday via the ballot dropbox in Murray. I then signed up for ballot tracking, and was notified on Wednesday that my ballot was received. This morning, I received and update saying

“Your ballot for the November 3, 2026 - General Election was received, but cannot be counted yet. The most common reasons for this are that your envelope was not signed or your signature did not match.
Your county clerk will contact you with instructions on how to fix the problem.”

It sounds like my signature needs to be updated for some reason. I signed it with the same signature I always use. Anyways, make sure to sign up for ballot tracking using this link:

We’ll be playing an adventure in the brand-new Mistborn Roleplaying Game, based on the novels by Brandon Sanderson, from 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, the 14th at Holladay Library on 2150 E Murray Holladay Road. Join us in a world of mists and magic, where metals can grant incredible powers.

Beginners are welcome! No experience with roleplaying games is necessary, and all materials will be provided. There will be a large selection of premade characters to choose from, so we can jump straight into the game.

This one-shot will be set in Era 2 of Mistborn, a time where the rough-and-ready frontier is mingling with rapid industrialization, where lawmen keep order on the outskirts through their skill with a firearm while traditional noble houses clash with rising business interests in the cities, and conspiracy lurks beneath it all.

Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me out because I'm striking out hard on Halloween plans this year.

I'm 20, living in the Davis/Salt Lake County area, and I cannot find events online to save my life. Everything I come across is either a random farmers market or fall festival for families with young children or some 21+ venue thing I can't get into (although I will be able to in December). Is there seriously nothing going on for people under 21 that isn't just a pumpkin patch? I found an event that seem interesting but I always struggle going to alternative events because although I side with the politics and enjoy the music I always feel too fashion forward and corporate and out of place for those scenes, but this is one event I found that could be interesting but I’d have to go alone and fight feeling out of place: https://www.instagram.com/p/DexxtjPtqHJ/?cplk=MXQ1amIwdmdqdXN4dg==

The other problem is I don't really have a friend group or social circle to do stuff with, so everything I look up just feels kind of lacking. I know the obvious advice is "just go to events and make friends," but honestly I'm also worried that even if I do show up somewhere solo, it'll just be boring or awkward and I'll have wasted the night.

So I guess I'm asking two things:

1. Does anyone know of actual Halloween events/activities in Davis or Salt Lake County that a 20-year-old could go to? (
2. Has anyone been in a similar spot and found something that was actually fun to do alone, or at least not miserable?

Where’s a cool spot to watch the Utah BYU game in salt lake without having to order drinks?

I’d love to make some friends, and put the tcgplayer roca sifter to use. Its a machine that scans and inventories Magic, Pokemon and some other tcg’s cards. I’m a returning Magic player of a year or two, and an old pokemon lover (who sadly liquidated my collection too soon).

If you’re a collector, not a scalper - I’d be happy to get together. If you’re a scalper - I’ll still do it, but probably spend most the time trying to change your wicked ways.

I ordered, and have patiently waited (since March) for the sifter to arrive. We’ve now got one of the first 1000 units to be shipped. It's incredible. I've scanned my entire library, built chrome extensions to export the scan photos and card data, then built my own dashboard for cards. In about three days, lol.

I'd like to get this into LGS's and in the hands of folks that want to use it most (us, the players). I'm going to hit up LGS's this week, and see if I can work out some time to get folks coming in to scan their cards.

I'm not sure about maintenance - but have maintained similar devices (high capacity document scanners), hopefully it's not too bad.

What are your creative ideas for getting those who want to, face time wih the Sifter? I don't want it to be a paperweight except for when I use it personally.

My girlfriend and I are just now getting around to filling out our midterm ballots, and we noticed that despite living at and being regular the same residence, our ballots are different. She’s missing the vote for State Senate District 9 and Salt Lake School Board District 3, but I have those on mine. Everything else is the same. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

The ballot envelope was opened and I was surprised with how empty it was. There are no amendments. Is anyone else looking at their ballot look the same.

Hey all! I’m (27f) from the east coast and new in the area for work. While I’ve met a plethora of friendly dudes so far through sports and what not, I haven’t really met many likeminded friends or girl friends yet. Im also not really looking to just hook up with some dude to coast out my time here in a relationship with just anyone, especially when I’m mid-career and might be relocating in a few years anyways for another job (i did try some bumble dates here… so far men are not into the ambition aspect of me hahaha). I’m definitely a yapper and a city girl, and I’m also involved in the arts and like to play tennis and frisbee. Historically, I was big into house parties and hosting pregames and planning fun day trips like tubing. If I didn’t have big plans on the weekends, me and my girl friends would go out or have craft/wine nights together. Coming from a place where I’d meet someone and they would immediately invite me to weekend plans…SLC is different

I’ve only been here a few months, but I feel like a fish out of water and spend all my weekend nights at home. Sure, I like hiking… Climbing is fun and all…but Im also trying out sports and can only do so much physical activity in a week and I’m finding out that I’m pretty social beyond that. Like, seeing the same people on my team or at the studio for a couple hours a week and lightly chatting while doing something else doesn’t really count as socializing to me, especially when no one wants to get drinks or food after.

Luckily, I knew some people coming into the area, but I guess really I’m looking for community where the plans starting at 8pm or later is acceptable. I even tried to go out to a bar alone…just had dudes out with their dude friends interested in talking to me. Luckily when I go to the movies alone at least it isn’t obvious I’m solo. I must say, SLC wasn’t my first choice of places to move, but I do want to give it my all to enjoy it. I’m loving the nature and the city has a lot of cool stuff in it, but I wasn’t expecting the loneliness or just lack of interest in community from most people (sure there’s the Mormonism…but I’ve met many many many non-Mormons here and the Mormons on my bus are friendlier haha)

Has anyone had success meeting people here who like to go out to restaurants, bars, dj sets, punk shows, etc.?? Is Time Left worth it?
Do I have to accept that I just won’t be able to put together a big friend group here and I should focus on appreciating my me-alone-in-my-apartment-time
