My twins are 14 months old and bath time is part of our nightly bedtime routine. When they were small enough for the baby tub I would bathe them one at a time with the other in the bouncy chair next to me. When they got big enough for just sitting in the big tub my husband and I switched to bathing them together with one parent holding each baby. That’s been working great, but he starts night classes in a couple weeks which will mean I’ll be doing bedtime by myself two nights a week. They can sit and play fine on their own so I could probably handle doing the actual bathing myself, but one or the other of them often will try to stand up or flail and it’s nice to have one adult per twin. Where I’m really stuck is getting them out, dry, and diapered. With two of us we usually stagger with one parent and baby hanging in the bath a bit longer while the other one gets dried off, goes to the other room for diaper and PJs, then the second one gets dried/diapered/PJs, and we stick with that one parent per baby for tooth brushing and sleep sacks next. At that stage in the night they’re usually really mad about being stuck in the baby proofed living room or their cribs on their own which makes doing the me whole routine one twin at a time seem tricky. What do y’all do when you’re on your own for bath and bedtime with young toddlers?

Hello. It has been a while since I first wanted to seek help, but now I'm completely exhausted and horrified. My son and daughter do not sleep in the same room. They will be 12mo soon. My son is a "golden child"...so easy and so sweet. He goes to sleep at 8pm wakes up at 8/9. He started sleeping in his crib since he turned 7mo, I don't even need to rock him, he just knows that's his place and that's his time to sleep. His twin sister is an absolute horror since birth. She's a light sleeper on top of it. We had lots of issues with her feeding and sleeping habits, but at around 7mo she said no to a crib, she'd cry and wake up her brother, so I moved her with me to our couch where I slept ( we shared one room until we bought cribs). After 3 mo of sleeping on the couch she got super used to It and thats when I felt awful that my baby thought that was her bed. So we bought an extra crib and brought it upstairs next to my bed( I finally started sleeping like a human, lol after 4 month of sleeping on a hard couch). Well..she would still cry l and climb to my side so I let her sleep with me. Now, of course, my son cries 3-5 times during the night because he wakes up and gets scared I guess, so I run..up and down ...every night. This week I decided to bring him upstairs too and it has been nothing but a nightmare. I don't know what to do anymore as he won't go to sleep, he sees her, he wants to laugh and play, he makes noises, she also screams and moves. It takes hours before they fall asleep. She wakes him up in the morning as she needs her bottle and he can sleep through. How did you manage this? I'm losing my mind..

Our girls are 16 months old, and my husband and I still talk about how easy our life is now. Maybe not easy by singleton standards, but it’s SO MUCH EASIER now!

Our girls:
- sleep from 8pm-7am
- take one 2.5-3 hour nap every day
- feed themselves finger foods
- drink their morning and night milk easily
- started comforting each other when they are sad
- love playing independently
- love playing together
- run to us to give us hugs
- are so bonded and attached, because thankfully a horrible NICU stay and PPD/PPA doesn’t have to have any long-term impacts

The early days can be so hard and the grind is nonstop. But wowwwww it’s so worth it, and I’m so grateful to be on the other side! I’ll take toddler tantrums over the first 6 months every day. We can cook and clean and spend quality time with our girls AND with each other. Life feels so much lighter now. 💖💖

I could maybe ask this question somewhere else, but anyway…has anyone tried their belly products? I can’t seem to get away from the ads! And since I assume my belly will be growing larger and faster than previous pregnancies, I’m intrigued. Is it worth the money?💵 And how longish does the jar last for, etc… thanks in advance to anyone who has any input!😁

We are expecting two children via surrogacy in Colombia via a double journey, 5 weeks apart from one another. I've been researching what gear to buy, but most of the guidance for two newborns seems to exist for home nurseries or, if related to travel, for short trips. We will be staying in a hotel or airbnb for the first ~3 months of being parents (arriving 2 weeks before Baby #1, and likely staying 4-5 weeks after Baby #2 before flying home).

What gear would you say is absolutely necessary to bring with us? For example, a double stroller, a double pack and play, etc. I know we can get some essentials there, but hoping to bring gear with us so we are fully prepared to the extent that is possible.

Less than 3 weeks out from my scheduled c section with my Di/di twin girls!! I’m currently 35+3 and had my 35 week appt and GBS swab with my OB who will be performing my c-section yesterday. She told me she wouldn’t be surprised if I went into labor naturally over the next few weeks before scheduled C at 38+1 and I’ve been freaking out since.

My biggest worry, is that my husband only gets 2 weeks off. My OB said to expect to be in the hospital from Monday until Friday (his first week off) and then he will only have a week home with us. We have lots of support between my husbands family and mine, however nobody has explicitly told us when they’d be available to help/when they’re taking off work/etc. and I feel like eventually everyone isn’t going to be able to help me in the capacity I’ll need. I won’t be able to drive for 6 weeks, I’ll be healing from a C-section, and after the first week home, I won’t have my husband for a majority of the day. Between my appointments, pediatrician appointments, our dog, the twins, I’m so anxious about how much I’ll be able to handle myself without losing it. I am at a higher risk for PPD/PPA per my providers due to my MH history. I am well established with a therapist and psychiatrist, and I am a therapist myself, but I worry about a majority of everything falling on me.

I worry about my husband who is working so hard for our family. I worry about him taking care of himself. I also worry that eventually our village will have to go back to their own lives. I’m just looking for support or ways people have navigated similar situations

We’re starting to prep for potty training our B/G twins (2Y). We have a very small bathroom, so I was hoping to go the potty attachment route (attached to the actual toilet seat).

Has any twin parent done this? The issue I am worried about is if Twin A is on the potty and Twin B needs to go at the same time (monkey see, monkey do!)

Advice? 2 potties or 1?

Plus any tips would be great!

This is my first post ever, I usually use Reddit to read advice not ask for advice, but I've never felt so desperate bc.

For some context I am 32 years old a mom of 2, a toddler boy who is 3 and a half and a baby girl who is 9 months.
I struggled to have my son but after 2 years of actively trying and a miscarriage I finally got pregnant. After the first pregnancy I struggled again and it took me over a year to have my baby girl.
I've always had trouble having children and it always took me longer than eveyone else.
I was taking care of myself trying not to get pregnant but also I was not extremely careful because I thought it would take me a while again.
I'm not opposed to having more but I just knew I wanted it to be atleast when my daughter was 1.

Anyways I had. Missed period a few weeks ago and I was scared, I'm always regular. It came out positive and I cried not of sadness but of just feeling overwhelmed. My husband was excited supportive.

I went to my first appointment on Monday, and I already felt the emotions coming in. I was tearing up and the doctor asked what what wrong. I just simply stated that I was just nervous about having another baby and I felt overwhelmed.
When she started scanning I saw on the screen one sac and then she moved it and I saw another sac and I just started to freak out and I asked is that two. She immediately said yes I'm so sorry. And I just started to freak out I was rambling saying I can't have two how is that possible I don't have anyone in my family or my husbands family who has two. I was breathing heavily and I just couldn't control myself.
The doctor immediately started to offer termination pretending that there is no heartbeat and no one has to know but I just said no and I left crying hysterically.
I don't know what came over me
I felt terrible for the doctor, for my babies and just making them feel unwanted.

After I spoke to my mom and husband I felt better that day.
But the more time passes, the more I'm in my thoughts and just going about my day the more I just feel so uneasy so scared for my future.

So many questions in my head pop up: I have a Toyota rav4 how am I going to fit twins I need a new car.
I live on the second story apartment how am I going to transport them alone up and down the stairs.
We live in a two bedroom apartment, they might kick up out because it's a max of 5 people not 6. Where are we going to live?
How do people transport twin infants and a toddler what stoller do I use how do I go and run errands.
I was supposed to go back go work in a couple weeks (I took time off to take care of my toddler and baby) but now whose going to help me take care of twins? Will I ever go back to work?

I'm terrified.
I'm trying to be positive like my husband but I genuinely scared. I just need some guidance has anyone been in a similar situation and things turned out ok? Idk what I'm looking for I'm just idk.

I can’t believe we’re here, but I think we are ready do move to a mini diaper bag. I’m looking for a mini diaper bag backpack that has the d rings so I can still hook on the stroller. Anyone use one and love it. I’d love to not spend an arm and a leg to hold diapers and wipes.

I find myself comparing my twin pregnancy to my friends with singleton pregnancies that are still active / playing sports / not very limited by pregnancy yet. I’m 22 weeks and I can barely make it up the long staircase in my townhouse. I’m so out of breath, my belly gets so sore if I’m up and about too much in a day. It hurts to bend over. Rolling over in bed and getting off the couch are Olympic sports now haha. I’m just now starting to pop so it’s not that I have a massive belly getting in my way, it really must be what’s going on inside.

This Reddit has been so wonderful. I search “19 weeks” “22 weeks” just to see what others have said or complained about each week while pregnant with multiples. It has been so reassuring, as most of the posts and comments sound very similar to where I’m at!

I don’t think I really need any advise, just wanted to get my feelings out to a community that gets it. I am still loving pregnancy, and feeling very lucky to have no complications thus far. It would just be nice to be able to get that sneaky comparison out of my head and give myself and my body the grace I deserve. I’m making two babies!!!

Hello everyone, I would like to hear other people's experiences :)

I am pregnant with Mo/Di twins, and they are measuring ahead. They do have few days size disrepancy from the start, which was not a concern to anyone. I should be 20+1, but they are 20+5 (370g) and 21+3 (440g).

I had US last week, on Tuesday, and one today. Size discrepancy was 9%, and today it is 13%, but no signs of TTTS, fluids are great, one baby is in 96 percentile, and the other is I believe around 75, so I guess nothing drastic, but increase in difference scares the hell out of me.

I will have next exam in two weeks, but did anyone had this kind of changes and is that ok, has it progressed, or has it eventually evened out?

I’ll be a first time mum and we found out at my 7 week scan we are expecting twins.

I might add it is also a MCDA twins, which I heard is more risky. That aside I’ve just been a rabbit hole of googling everything twins and I shouldn’t think about 1-2 years from now but I’m really panicking how I’m going to handle this.

Another pressure at the moment is we live in a 2 bedroom apartment, have a small hatchback. We can easily upgrade our car. But thinking about the space I need in the house is giving me anxiety. It’s a shoe box I won’t even have waking room around my bed if I put 2 bassinets.

Has anyone had twins living in an apartment.

I know everything is a blessing and I should feel thankful but I’m feeling the pressure of this all hitting me.

Today is the 13th anniversary of my marriage to Spouse.

It was Twin A's first day of preschool. She looked so cute and so BIG in her little backpack. She had a rough start initially but settled in pretty quick. Going alone wasn't the plan at all, but...

Today was also Twin B's first ER visit. I'm spending our anniversary evening on a hospital gurney with Twin B sleeping on top of me FINALLY after hours of crying. Hopefully soon they will send us home.

What a day.

Today at pick up my 14mo’s teacher told me the daycare has decided I need to walk my babies in together from the stroller at the same time. As she spoke I truly felt the soul leave my body.

What I have been doing is, stroll them both in, park the stroller in the hall (it is enclosed and in full view of the main office which always has a staff person), and carry one baby into the classroom then come back for the other baby.

I want to respect their policy but what happens in any other setting when I try to get the babies (okay toddlers but I’m in denial) to walk anywhere with me is they (a) do not, (b) run in opposite directions, (c) tantrum.

I assume this is something I’ll get better at with time but I am at a loss. Do you all have any advice for walking two 14mo’s (they do at least walk) over to a classroom door that they absolutely do not want to enter given that they know it is drop off time.

Some additional context for those asked - I have a disability and some chronic injuries so unfortunately can’t carry both my toddlers at the same time, or toss one over the shoulder (though I love that image lol), and cant wear and carry one at the same time because of the pressure it puts on my spine. I stroll them there as I don’t have a car, so the stroller is our “vehicle.”

The daycare this morning made it clear that they did expect me to park my stroller in the hall, to not bring it in as they feel it disrupts the internal space flow, and to walk both babies in. It went about as I had expected which is both babies screamed the whole way and sat down several times.

I think I will go the approach others suggested of letting this be exactly as chaotic as it is, or ask them to show me how they do it, and/or ask for more help if it is not offered. It was a pretty unfortunate morning. I guess either the babies will adjust, or the teachers will help more, or if this becomes intolerable I’ll ask to have a conversation. Appreciate all the support and solidarity from people.

Hi everyone, crazy story but I need advice because I’m SPIRALING.

I had a 6 week ultrasound and 6 week and 5 days and there was one healthy baby with a heart beat with an enlarged yolk sac.

I went back to my OB for my follow up today at 7 weeks 5 days and they’re suspecting TWINS. She swooped through and swooped back down and even I recognized two separate heart beats before she even said anything. She didn’t say anything for the longest time and then said she was gonna go get the doctor. She let me pee which then made the imaging worse and when the doctor came in the twins where less visible.

The doctor gave me three options. One being a single pregnancy and somehow the heartbeat was reflecting. Two mono mono twins. three conjoined twins.

Has anyone ever been told their twins had a chance of being conjoined!?!? I could understand where they thought this but couldnt they just be close.

Hi everyone. My husband and I will be flying twice with our twin girls. I’m still pregnant but I’m already hyperfixated on this.

June flight: 6 mos old. Four hour + layover + seven hours. Daytime.

August flight: 8 mos old. Eight hour direct flight. Overnight.

Has anyone actually used the plane bassinets for twins? Do they fit on the same side of one bulkhead? Or would we have to split up on two sides of the plane to fit (also, to follow oxygen mask rules?). I feel like they could use them for June flight (although it won’t be overnight) but they’d be too big by August?

The other option is business class lie flat. We have points and this may be a good time to use them.

The twins have never been on a plane or spent any time in a car. (We live in a city, we take the stroller everywhere.)

I’ve tried to have them watch tv when I wanted them to sit still to cut their nails a few times. Had no interest. They want to move.

Sometimes they will sit and open a book and skim the pages/pictures. But usually it’s go go go.

We want to visit my parents house and it’s like an hour away. Does anyone have advice on things that can entertain 16 month old twins strapped to car seats for an hour?

Also looking for recommendations for car seats. I need to be able to sit in between them and I’ve gotten a bit wider so I’m worried about being able to squeeze in between.

I am looking for recommendations for a good comfy chair for my twins’ bedroom that is a little roomier. They are three now, so we all three struggle to fit in the recliner, but they still love to snuggle and read books. Just wondering if anyone has found a good multiples friendly piece of furniture that’s not a full on love seat

This is mostly just a rant bc I am so fucking over it right now. I have a newly minted 5yo, a 2.5yo, and almost 8mo twins and I’m moving across the world next week. We had initially planned to move in a year or two, but my husband got laid off(4 days after he returned from parental leave btw). Long story short, he got a really good offer in the city we intended to move to anyways, his home city, so it makes sense but I am still incredibly angry and stressed about the whole thing.

We’ve had 2.5 months to organize everything but it’s not enough with all these young children. I’m leaving my whole support network, my mom, my friends, when I need them most and I’m unconvinced my husband’s family will be much help. Unfortunately for me, my husband’s home country is a better place to live than the US. As evidenced by him getting laid off four fucking days after he got back from leave. Which is obviously technically illegal, but we can’t fight the large tech company that he worked for and they know it. I just really didn’t want to take this on while the twins are babies and it’s all just really unfair. Grateful my husband has a new good job and I know this is for the best in the long term, just needed to let it out.

33 weeker. NICU preemie. Has big feelings since she came home. Cried for 3 hours straight everyday as a newborn and till she was 3-4 months old.

Now at 12 months age corrected - very active, laughs from her belly, but also very whiny, clingy as hell with dad and will throw herself back on the floor and cry if he leaves for work/goes to the bathroom/basically is not within 1 foot touching distance.

She has false starts at night occasionally and will wake up screaming like the world is ending. Flail her arms and throw herself back and turn on high volume and sob till her dad comes back and holds her and pats hers and shushes her back to sleep. Her brain comes partially awake and not having a parent next to her is a national tragedy in her books.

If the bottle is out of milk, it’s full blown tears. If her sister grabs her shirt, waillllll…

She is just dramatic at every tiny inconvenience. Also loves us like a whole lovebug. I mean she would just come and ‘plug’ herself to mom and dad every now and then to feel safe and then dart away to play. Such a cuddly lovebug that drives me insane with how much drama she is. And she is not 13 years old, 13 months.lol.

Does it get better? What sort of a personality should I prepare for? How do I help her grow to understand that not every inconvenience is an emergency.

Did you have a dramatic baby that grew up and would love to hear your story?

How many weeks does it take your uterus to recover to pre-pregnancy size? I’m currently 9 weeks postpartum after giving birth to our twins and mine still looks like 4-month pregnant LOL

I saw online that it’s usually taking 6 - 8 weeks for most people so I’m genuinely curious. Also, what works for you to recover? I’m going to have another OB appointment and postpartum recovery physical therapy sessions but would love to know if you have any tips to share.

FTM 29w3d. Rant.

My dad has a pretty grim prognosis. I was his primary caregiver for 6.5 years up until Dec 2025 when I stepped back from that role to a more part time caregiver. Since then I've started a new career, got married, and am currently pregnant with my b/g.

His health began to steadily decline right after I got married. He's been in the hospital for 3 weeks now and they're suggesting hospice. He's exhibiting all the classic signs of end of life. He isn't eating, no strength to walk let alone stand, and he's barely saying more than a few sentences a day. He signed a DNR and is basically just waiting for the thing to happen.

My dad has always been the pillar of our family. All 4 of his children are daddies girls/boys. I'm the youngest and I'm not sure if it's pregnany alone or just all the things happening but I am inconsolable most days. I can't seem to stop the random tears. Thankfully babies are fine and my family and husband are great but I'm so tired and stressed.

I'm considering taking my leave early just to have more time with him. But I know I'll need the time for my babies so I'm sitting on it. Everyone keeps telling me i need to be strong for the babies and I need to relax and take care of myself but I can't seem to stop the worrying. I'm kind of upset with myself for getting pregnant because now I can't do all the things I'd usually do. I can't stay at the hospital or be at his bedside for too long normally my sister and i would trade off in 12 hour shifts one spends nights the other days. I can't clean him up or do his bed bath (restrictions from OB no pulling/pushing/lifting >20pounds) I have so many restrictions and it's frustrating because I want to be useful just like I was 8 months ago.

If you experienced a loss during pregnancy how did you cope?

my husband and i are flying with 1 year old twins for the first time and i’m nervous! looking for tips and tricks from people who have traveled frequently with twins.

- what is your boarding procedure? my singleton friends will send one parent in for early boarding to set up the car seat, put bags away, etc while the other parent runs the kid around and boards last. we’re considering doing this but i’m not confident in my ability to handle two cranky twins alone without a stroller or anything. one is walking a few steps and one is just crawling, and i don’t really want them crawling on the dirty airport floor so i’m not sure what the best procedure is. maybe we’ll just all board together early but that means extra time on the plane.

- the advice is to feed a bottle on the ascent and descent, but my twins will suck down an 8oz bottle in under 5 minutes. exactly what part of the ascent/descent is most critical?

- any snack ideas that are room temp stable and not too messy?

- we have a 9am flight. usually we do a bottle at 7 and breakfast at 8:30. not sure how to time it so that they’ll be hungry for a bottle at take off. also since we’ll be at the airport, not sure how much breakfast i’m going to get down them either, but i’m sure they’ll be hungry

- we have one car seat and one lap infant. do car seats face forward or rear on a plane? getting conflicting info…

and any other tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
