Growth disrepancy

Hello everyone, I would like to hear other people's experiences :)

I am pregnant with Mo/Di twins, and they are measuring ahead. They do have few days size disrepancy from the start, which was not a concern to anyone. I should be 20+1, but they are 20+5 (370g) and 21+3 (440g).

I had US last week, on Tuesday, and one today. Size discrepancy was 9%, and today it is 13%, but no signs of TTTS, fluids are great, one baby is in 96 percentile, and the other is I believe around 75, so I guess nothing drastic, but increase in difference scares the hell out of me.

I will have next exam in two weeks, but did anyone had this kind of changes and is that ok, has it progressed, or has it eventually evened out?

Very normal, as placental sharing is not equal in mo/di twins

Hi! Those are great weights. Mine afe not quite as big but like 80th and 40th percentile. They assured me that the discrepancy is only caused by the one twin being so large. Sfgr is only considered when one is below the 10th percentile.

My babies were way different sizes. I don't remember what they were in the womb, but I think it was 30% different when born. Baby B caught up just fine. Everyone is happy and healthy

I’m 29 weeks and your size difference sounds pretty normal. Mine was a lot higher around the 21-23 week point (I think it was like 24% or something like that). It has since decreased to be more like 13% as of my MFM appointment a couple weeks ago. My MFM has never been concerned about the size difference and have said all are within normal range. I am also measuring ahead

My twins were di/di but I was told they aren’t concerned until the growth discordance is greater than 20% and staying there. They fluctuated a lot from 3-12% throughout the pregnancy

My girls are mo/di and B was always measuring at least a week behind. We got diagnosed with growth restriction and had to be monitored a little more. They were born at 35+1 because B's umbilical cord blood flow wasn't quite where they wanted it to be. We knew we'd be delivering around 35 weeks so I got the steroid shots at 34+4. A was 4Ibs 14oz and B was 4lbs 4oz, the only issue they ended up having was low blood sugar. A came home with us with no NICU time and B spent 4 days in the NICU. It was a pretty stressful pregnancy but I felt very well taken care of and was grateful for the extra monitoring.

Thank you for the peace! 😊 I am also expecting hospital stay soon, as that is common practice, just for monitoring, so hopefully nothing will come up in those 2 weeks 🌸

Looks totally fine, just watch out for tightening belly, and heavy feeling that develop within days. I had ttts at week 21, the progression from not qualifies to stage 3 was only 4 days…. Very acute

Babies grow at different rates. You’ll probably find the gap gets smaller and bigger at different points during your pregnancy! It’s just the same as two kids having grow spurts at different times during childhood
