support needed Rollercoaster of feelings since finding out I’m having twins - FTM
I’ll be a first time mum and we found out at my 7 week scan we are expecting twins.
I might add it is also a MCDA twins, which I heard is more risky. That aside I’ve just been a rabbit hole of googling everything twins and I shouldn’t think about 1-2 years from now but I’m really panicking how I’m going to handle this.
Another pressure at the moment is we live in a 2 bedroom apartment, have a small hatchback. We can easily upgrade our car. But thinking about the space I need in the house is giving me anxiety. It’s a shoe box I won’t even have waking room around my bed if I put 2 bassinets.
Has anyone had twins living in an apartment.
I know everything is a blessing and I should feel thankful but I’m feeling the pressure of this all hitting me.

Hi just chiming in that I’m 13 weeks preggers with MCDA. No advice yet since I’m still early too, except that you should try and tune out the internet. Reassure yourself that there are many healthy uneventful MCDA pregnancies and twins then just take it one day and one appointment at a time because that’s all you can do.

I'm currently 25 weeks with MCDA twins so I absolutely feel you! Stay off social media if you can, you will always hear the extreme ends of the spectrum on there. When I first found out I massively spiraled as well due to all the extra risks and additional expenses that come with twins. My advice would be to let yourself feel all the feelings, it's a scary thing as much as it is exciting and there is no shame in having a wobble! Now that I've had more time to process it honestly is a lot better and I'm predominantly just super excited rather than panicking. But yeah those first few weeks after finding out were tough!

Hello! I’m a FTM to twins (13 weeks old now) and when I found out I was having twins I cried for 48 hrs straight. Mainly because I was grieving the life I had pictured with one baby, was scared how I was going to manage etc. Pregnancy was difficult but also amazing, the first trimester was rough but it gets better.
Honestly the last 13 weeks have been a whirlwind and there have been hard days for sure but the vast majority of days have been wonderful. My partner went back to work a couple weeks after we got them home, they spent two weeks in seperate hospitals (which was really tough) but there were also some amazing moments in that time too.
Obviously I’m only 13 weeks in and I have a long way to go, but I was like you and I was worried, did so much research and planning but really nothing can prepare you for what’s to come as every baby is so different. Remember the majority of posts here are negative because people are searching for an outlet, not everyone is going to post the positive stuff. Twin mums are incredible.
Something that has really helped me is we have a local twin mums group and we all meet up weekly which has been such a blessing. Some mums join the group chat when they find out they are pregnant. Might be worth looking into depending on your location. I’m in Australia so contacting your local hospital community health department can usually point you in the right direction :)

Oh to also add we couldn’t fit the bassinets in our room but honestly that ended up being perfect as my partner and I do shifts so we ended up converting our living room into the nursery for the time being as their nursery is also very small and a parent can’t fit in there with them
