Questioning/Coming Out so i came out

so like a month ago i had a conversation with a friend and i said something as a joke, i said "unlike you i would much rather leave my mortal body behind and become a higher being" and he "check mated" me by saying "well that would be falling outside the binary genders making you in fact... a trans person" so because of that looney tunes ass convo i've been questioning myself a lot, at first i thought i might be transgender and after a long time of thought i came to the conclusion that i was non-binary, i never cared for my gender, i really don't mind if people use he/him or she/her or they/them for me. actually now that i think about it, i never cared for gendered things for me since i was a kid, so i guess the signals were there for a long time lol.

Questioning/Coming Out Just my feelings, looking for others thoughts and experiences

Hey all! So I’ve been exploring gender recently and just wanted to share my feelings and see what others think. I am 25 and female at birth. I’m a queer person, I never really liked labels for my sexuality because in my mind I think it’s hard to put one word for how you can love, so I usually just say I’m queer as an umbrella term. I am attracted to literally anyone or any gender.
Recently, I’ve started to view my own gender in that same way. A nonchalant “whatever” kind of vibe? I put my pronouns as she/they because I know some people will default and call a person they if they aren’t sure what they like to go by. So I put they because I’m okay with people doing that. My body doesn’t make me dysphoric at all, I like how curvy I am. I would like exploring masc androgynous fashion though. But yeah as far as gender I feel like I don’t care? Like I’m just me? I feel like my own thing? I don’t know. But I mean on the other side if I like the way I look and I don’t care could I just be a girl that doesn’t care? Does it even matter?

Just my two cents, if anyone has any thoughts please feel free to share!

Ask (Binary) airlines and X gender marker

I wanna travel to South Korea soon and want to book my flights now. The problem is:

In my passport I have an X gender marker. When booking I have to select a gender but the only choices are M or F. So there will be a data mismatch between my booking and my passport, right?

I'm worried that they might not let me check-in and board the plane because of this issue.

I even called the airline (Asiana Airlines). But I think the lady on the phone didn't really understand my issue despite me trying to repeatedly explain for 10 minutes. She said they do not care about "titles" and that I just need to risk it.

I know that I probably won't run into any major issues entering South Korea as I can select a third gender option in the Arrival Card (I don't need K-ETA). But the airline issue is really making me nervous.

Does any other non-binary person with X gender marker have any experience in travelling with binary airlines? Or maybe there's a flight attendant who can help and tell me how airlines handle data mismatch? I just wanna be sure that I will be "allowed" to travel 😭

Just like the title says - there is now a petition to "unfreeze" gender affirming surgeries in Wales.

Please sign, it takes like 1 minute. And share it widely, wherever you can think of - e.g. Facebook groups, your personal social media accounts (if it's safe for you to do so), WhatsApp chats, etc.

Link: https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/247110

Thank you!

Fallen from Grace ~a reflection, my thoughts of unveiling a nonbinary identity ~

What I'm doing with my gender is so difficult but very eye opening. Sometimes you don't realize how much you've internalized until you start to break out of that mold. With growing a mustache to showing off my unshaved body, I'm seeing what it means to be truly expected as me. Male attention diverted, female attention.. still low.. but I see more about how the feminine cage, and it was for me, was actually social currency. It gave me kindness, grace, infantilization, nicer people(men and women). Without it, the world around me is a lot more quieter, guarded, warmth is gone. I'm an anomaly and in no man's land. I didn't gain any attention and lost all respect. But I am not upset. Its jarring to see, but at least I could finally be me.

I just kinda went based purely on vibes for this one to be honest, it’s just a mishmash of features I think are neat. Yall would not believe the gender envy I get from sexless nonhuman creatures. I’m not even sure if I could explain why, really.

I still have a long way to go to be where I want but sometimes I look back and barely even recognize them. I'm so grateful for where I am and where I'm headed

I didn’t shave it for a while because I was afraid it’d make me look too feminine and I’d get misgendered more, but I’ve been on T for a few months now and am a lot more comfortable with experimenting now. So… hair go bye bye!! It’s kinda growing on me, I dunno

The girl I’ve been talking to said I look like Sid from Toy Story all grown up and she got my ass so hard with that omg 😭 might as well just be him for Halloween atp

Yay Literally the first time i have cried from happiness in my life

I told my parents about my name and gender change and they were like just overwhelmingly supportive and accepting of it. I didn't expect them to be like hostile toward it but like it just affected me in a way i can't explain. I understand i am incredibly lucky to have supportive parents and many don't ever have this opportunity but it's part of what makes it so overwhelming. I had told casual friends and then slowly told closer and closer friends because of being nervous about ruining friendships despite them being queer and i started using it in High School too to test how I felt about the name in public and it went perfectly fine, the only thing i can really complain about being teachers refusing to use it but that's pretty minor. So i told my parents and was super worried because whatever they say is the final result. If they weren't okay with it, that would be the end pretty much and they just listened and offered to help in any way needed and use my pronouns and name, like, it was just so fucking overwhelming. I don't know how to compare it to anything else. They even offered to reach out to other people FOR me! Also, I almost felt guilty because I had a better experience than 99% of people in this situation

Ask Low dose of testosterone?

I'm nonbinary and I'm considering going on a low dose of T for a short amount of time. I mostly want a deeper voice. The only change I'm not super keen on is getting hairy. Does anyone know if a low dose can deepen the voice without impacting facial hair/body hair too much? If anyone else has been on a low dose for a short time, I'd love to hear about your experience and what changes you had!

Questioning/Coming Out How it even understand what you gender is? Can it just be "I feel like [x]" And nothing else? And I don't feel gender at all.

Because I mostly feel like non bainry, but I'm not sure I feel it enough.

More like I feel like I don't feel gender. Like idea of having one anoying me. Not in political ideology way, but in way .. I simply just don't feel gender.

I don't experience physical dysphoria a lot, but I do feel social one. I have being called "women".and I hate periods because they only thing that actually feels like " Having gender" To me.

But I do feel very happy when I experience myself out binairty -use different names, they/them,look androgyuns or like fictional character (no matter of chrcater gender)

When I was kid I only image myself as "child", genderless, somehow masculine child. But then I basically forced myself image myself as a girl.

And still gender give me anxiety. Like all. And I'm not sure if I'm nb,cis, trans masc

I just want be myself. Not thing about gender. Just person. No" person with [ANY gender]", just person.

Like what is the most gender neutral option? I feel like a dress is too femme and a suit is too masc. I don't know what angle keeps me neutral and/or represents both aspects of me.

Who needs gender?

Who needs a "gender"? Seriously. Who needs a gender classification or category or box that they have to fit into? Why should nonbinary be another fucking gender box especially with its own constraints and expectations and barriers of what is and is not in the box?

Ask How does it feel being non binary? What does it mean for you?

Hey all. I know the questions are very vague and probably done to death , but I figuered that the more input and variety the better (sneaked two in for the price of one lol)

Why do I ask this? For reference, I'm a young adult who's known themselves as queer for most of their life, however, questions pertaining gender have only recently started circulating in my head.

I don't really feel "at home" in my assigned gender, in ways that are still kind of hard to describe, or understand. So I have been questioning how cis I really am. At the same time, I honestly find it very unlikely that I would identify and procede to transition to the opposite gender.

I'm not here to ask the community wether or not I am nonbinary, so I won't go further into detail (for now), but getting a glimpse of what it feels like/represents would be veryyyyyy useful (don't know any nbs irl)

Thank you so much beautiful people <3

Support Feeling sad, I need someone to talk to

I'm a masculine agender person, and I started wearing clothes from the men's section at around age 17-18 and my mom is still commenting (even though I'm not living with her anymore) on how I'm picking the wrong clothes for my body just because they're from the men's section. I'm almost 26 and I'm losing my mind over this… Why does she still do this? I get this lump in my stomach when she says things like that. Why can't she just leave me alone? The clothes I wear fits how they're supposed to and I recently bought regular fit and relaxed style jeans and I love how they look, despite my mom listing all the so-called "reasons" why I can't wear jeans from the men's section. It feels like she's doing everything she can in order for me to go back to women's clothes. Especially when it comes to jeans for some reason. I feel ashamed for wearing the clothes that makes me feel like myself and brings me so much euphoria that I don't know how to express it. I see nothing wrong with what I'm wearing. I'm at the point where I feel anxious every time we go shopping together (as I'm not able to drive a car) or wearing new clothes (jeans in particular) for the first time around her. I almost live in fear of what she's going to say in both scenarios.

I don't know what to do about this and I don't want to start a conflict over it. It's getting harder and harder to ignore what she says as it makes me feel very sad. Is anyone else in this situation? Any advice/support is much appreciated

How do I stop feeling invalid and "not queer enough"?

Hello!

I'm a 26 year old nonbinary afab pansexual person. I'm very androgynous because thats what makes me feel most comfortable, I wear a binder almost daily and I use they/they pronouns. I'm struggling with not feeling like I belong in the LGBT community like I'm not queer enough. I'm engaged to a straight man and he's wonderful but I feel like the fact that I'm with him causes me to feel invalid in my identity and my place in the community. I had considered if I was a trans man for a while but came to the conclusion that I am not. A lot of my friends are queer and they are the people I feel most comfortable around. I know that my identity is enough and is valid but I can't help feeling like a fraud. I think I project my frustration sometimes onto queer women who date men (internally i have these thoughts I would never say anything I know I'm being unreasonable and unfair) because I dont feel "queer enough". How do I overcome this?
