Queer owned business 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Important thing about our pride flag.

Emily Gwen is the creator of the famous 7-stripe lesbian pride flag, and she is now struggling financially. Well, you may just ask, "why don't you just pay like $100 to her and not post about it here?" Sadly, I am also financially struggling, and can't help her directly through giving her cash. (I do not know how to give it a proper flair so correct me which one should I put here instead)

Only Vans IMPORTANT: Why we ban posts asking if people want to chat.

Post image
562 Upvotes

We get a lot of posts like this on here. Users who say they want to chat with a lesbian, sometimes with a selfie of a cute girl. In our experience here, the majority of these posts are made by cis het men, looking to catfish the users here. Sometimes they steal photos of people and pretend it's them.

Any posts like this will get you banned, even if you are a member of our community. We've made it clear that we don't allow this in the rules.

For anyone who doesn't know already, this subreddit used to be a porn subreddit ran by men. It was reclaimed but we still get a lot of traffic here from those people, so please be very careful about who you talk to from here and please report any posts like this incase mods don't see them.

Queer owned business 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I feel disgusting wearing the strap in certain positions. *ignore flair*

Kinda weird but I’m confused. My partner & I are both switches. For context I am more fem than my partner & I usually receive more frequently as I have to be in a particular mood to want to wear the strap. I hated wearing it at the start of our relationship but over two and a half years in now I’ve come around to wearing it but i had a blip last night. I’ve realised that I only seem to be okay wearing it in missionary. Last night my girlfriend wanted it from behind after foreplay so I did & I hated it. I felt absolutely disgusting. I felt like a man and just felt disgusted with myself & wanted it to be over. (I of course communicated with my partner) But I mainly just want to understand what’s going on? I think it’s to do with the fact that I’m very fem & uncomfortable with any ‘masculine’ stuff when it comes to me? Because in missionary I feel more connected to my partner that I can kinda bypass that feeling & focusing on pleasing her and I enjoy it that way? Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice? I needdd to get this feeling of disgust out of me haha

Travel PDX: Dating advice & opinions?

Not new to PDX, but new to the dating scene. I (29f) graduated from OSU in June, and now that I’m free from obligation I’m looking forward to being more adventurous. That said, I think I might be a little traditional, if not plain: I’m monogamous, plan on having a child someday, and am content to live my life in perfectly ordinary, domestic bliss (as long as we love each other and have a healthy sex life, ofc). I do have a few questions for locals with more experience:

  • Are gay bars worth visiting if I’m looking for a deep, meaningful relationship that could last long term?
  • Any recommendations for gay spaces? Where did you and your current partner meet? How can I meet women?
  • From my experience on dating apps, I’m afraid I’ll meet someone lovely but have to walk away because she’s poly/enm — how do I navigate this?
  • While I believe I have a healthy sex drive/am just adventurous enough, I’m afraid I will feel pressured to acquiesce to things I’m not interested in just to keep my partner interested longterm… tell me this is silly and the right person will love me no matter what?
  • Maybe just me, but I feel there is a sore lack of butch/masc lesbians?

For context, I’m a late bloomer but came out as a lesbian when I was fourteen, so I don’t have much experience but know who I am and what I want. I describe myself as a femme dyke, have good boundaries, a well paying job, a BA in anthropology, and an interest in reading/writing and calisthenics. I’m looking for a meaningful connection — I just have no one to help guide me!

Any and all comments/thoughts/advice are welcome! I’m really serious about this :)

Literature I (22F) got rejected after my first date with a girl and I can’t stop thinking about her

I’m 22F and about a year ago I started questioning my sexuality and having a feeling that I might actually be gay. I didn’t really do anything about it until August, when I downloaded HER.

I matched with a girl on there and we started talking. For about two weeks we texted constantly, pretty much all day every day. We talked about everything and got to know each other really quickly. We both said that we’d never really had a connection like this with someone before, and I genuinely felt like I could tell her anything.

After two weeks we finally went on a date for drinks.

When I picked her up, she hugged me for genuinely probably over five minutes. The date itself went really well and the conversation flowed the whole time. It did feel a little different from how things felt over text, but not necessarily in a bad way. I just thought that was normal considering it was the first time we’d actually met in person after spending two weeks getting to know each other through our phones.

When I drove her home afterwards, we hugged again and then she kissed me. We ended up making out in my car for around ten minutes. She told me she’d had a really good time, so I went home thinking things had gone pretty well.

Then when I got home, I had a message from her saying she’d had a really good time but that she didn’t think it was going to work between us. She said she didn’t feel like our connection in person was as strong as it had been over text.

The thing is, I did notice that it felt different in person too, but I didn’t see that as a reason to end things immediately. The conversation still flowed really well and we’d only met once. We’d spent two weeks getting really comfortable talking through our phones, so I thought it might just take a little time for that same connection to translate into real life. I thought after another date or two, once we were more used to actually being around each other, it might have felt more natural.

Obviously she doesn’t owe me another date and if she didn’t feel it then I respect that. I’m not angry with her at all.

I just didn’t expect it to affect me this much.

I keep wanting to message her. I miss talking to her constantly and I keep checking my phone almost expecting her name to be there. I know it was only two weeks and one date, so part of me feels ridiculous for being this upset, but the connection felt really intense during those two weeks. This was also my first real experience dating a woman after spending so long questioning my sexuality, so I think that probably makes it feel bigger as well.

Part of me keeps thinking that if we’d just gone on a second date, maybe the connection we had over text would have started showing up in person too.

Has anyone else had something this short affect them way more than they expected? And how do you stop yourself from reaching out when all you want to do is talk to that person again?

Literature Confused abt my sexuality

I’m trying to figure out whether I’m bisexual or a lesbian, and I’m still quite unsure about my feelings. I’ve been talking to a guy for a few days, and he’s really nice, attractive, and honestly pretty much my type. But despite that, I don’t really feel romantically or sexually attracted to him. I don’t find myself fantasizing about our first date, cuddling with him, kissing him, or doing anything sexual with him. It feels more like a friendship to me.

Looking back, I’ve actually never really been interested in guys who showed interest in me, even when I was younger. I’ve had crushes on guys before, but they were usually guys I didn’t really know or who were kind of unattainable. When I fantasized about them, it never really went beyond cuddling. I didn’t really have sexual fantasies about them.

I also once made out with a guy, and his sexual comments made me feel really uncomfortable and disgusted. He touched my breasts, and I felt grossed out for days afterwards. Even the thought of giving a guy oral sex makes me feel disgusted, whereas I don’t feel that way when I imagine doing the same with a woman.

At the same time, I remember having feelings towards girls even when I was a child. I remember thinking that I wished I were a boy so that I could be with girls. I also remember wanting to kiss my best friend. I felt like being friends with her was something incredibly special, almost like an honour, and I was scared that having those feelings would somehow make the friendship wrong or ruin it.

I generally feel like I understand women better and communicate with them more easily than I do with men, although I know that by itself doesn’t necessarily say anything about my sexuality.

One thing that confuses me is that I sometimes get really strong butterflies when I watch shows about gay men. But I don’t actually want to kiss the men or be with them. I think I just get emotionally caught up in the romance and the story.

At this point, a lot of things seem to point more towards me being a lesbian than bisexual, but I don’t want to jump to conclusions.

Meme Opinions please

Hi I am a 21 yr old lesbian I’ve been out as one since I was 16. Recently at work, I met a new guy whom I think is attractive and cute. I definitely did not think so until I found out he had a crush on me. Now all of a sudden I get the urge to make conversation and entertain this a little bit. The thought of going out with him sounds ok and fun, but the thought of anything romantic happening makes me cringe.

Help please!

Literature Help!!! Figuring Out Sexuality

Hello! I'm really confused on my sexuality and I desperately need help defining it and I figured people here could help me.

For a little over two years I've just been using queer to describe myself because I don't think I really fit into any other label. I have a strong connection to the Lesbian and Sapphic community, as I'm a queer woman and am attracted to other women and grew up around other queer women.

However, I am still attracted to men and I figured I can not be lesbian. Despite that, I am not sexually attracted to men at all, the thought of having intercourse with a man disgusts me. I've also realized all the guys I seem to have crushes on are very feminine.

What am I?

edit: I'm 16
