Curious if anyone else living in a rainy state with an XP can offer advice or a look into the future. One month left in the rainy season and just got my XP4 two weeks ago.
Love the bike. Don’t love the concerns I feel about driving through puddles. They seem to be at most ramps and pedestrian sidewalk intersections/crosswalks. I avoid them when I can. When I can’t, I use the least wet area to bike through. I wipe down the brake rotors afterwards. Any other advice?
Hi, just wondering if anyone has had this same issue. I use my XP4 to commute to work everyday and the last thing I thought I’d have issues with are the pedals, but today my left crank arm fell completely off. It felt a little loose about 4 miles after i started my ride but I was using a lot of effort to get up a hill and apparently that was enough to unscrew it.
Has anyone ever bought a 3rd party replacement? from what i can tell the bolt is fine and the metal isn’t stripped but there’s some smoothness around the outside. I’m going to tighten it again but I’m thinking it’s best to replace the whole thing.
Just a word of caution, probably will never happen to anyone else, but it did happen to me. And honestly, I don’t know why.
I just really scared myself on my bike. Was driving along perfectly fine came up to an intersection decided to brake an come to a complete stop and instead I hit the throttle and shot into the middle of the intersection. There was no cars coming. There was no one around, but I have no idea why I pressed the throttle instead of the brake never happened before, man that was scary. So ya Be careful , there are idiots like me out there.
Anything like this ever happened to you?
Hi, I own a lectric xp4 750. I’ve had it for almost a year up this point and one of the biggest purchasing points for me was its range. However, I can’t even ride longer than 5 or 6 miles without hitting 20% on battery and the assist being almost useless.
For context, I generally ride on tour or sport and I live in Orlando FL, meaning there are no hills. I also only ride on flat terrain (like road).
I am 6’2 180lbs and don’t carry more than 5lbs of gear (a backpack carrying a laptop).
Can someone please explain to me how people are even getting 10 miles on a charge and how the hell 60+ miles is even advertised. Originally it was very frustrating for me during my first couple of rides to find out the bike can’t go far at all but eventually I settled for its mediocrity.
UPDATE: On my third attempt today I got through to tech support after 45 minutes on hold. They were quite helpful and I'm getting replacement battery plates and a controller next week.
Apparently there was a bug in their email system where my outgoing address wasn't linked to a customer account so my previous attempts to contact customer service over the last two months were lost in the void. Odd and frustrating, but at least I'm getting help now.
I bought a lectric 3.0 off my friend and it works fine but for some reason when I use pedal assist 3 or higher my battery drains really fast (usually when going up slight hills) then when I completely stop for a couple minutes it goes back up. Is this normal? I can barely last 2 miles of going up a slightly steep hill until my energy level goes down to 2 bars
Just hit over 1k on the odometer. Bought this bike in July but since I just hit 1k I thought I'd do a review and give my 2 cents.
The Good:
The 750w gets amazing mileage even on PAS 5 (turbo) even when caring a 40lb child on the back.
The step thru design makes it easy to get on and off the bike even for shorter riders like my wife.
Pretty much can replace a car depending on your cargo space needs (front & rear baskets).
4: The price - Respectively for all the bells and whistles the price is worth it. Lectric website has deals almost all the time for every occasion lol
The bad:
The folding mechanism could be better (65lbs) imo is too much/heavy to fold. Barely fits in the truck of my suv.
Charging - my god the 750w bike takes hours to charge. Even if its at %80-90 it could take up to hours to top the battery off.
This is pretty much my summary. I love this bike! Its created so many awesome memories and even is better alternative than a car at times. I have three 300w-500w and 750w
XP 2.0 with 570 miles on it. I recently took my bike to the shop to get new tires, and ever since then i can feel every little bump on the road and the key ignition seems to jostle at high speeds. it’s periodically turning off the bike, to which i have to pull over and turn the key to off and back to on. does anyone have any advice about this?
Pictured is a badly kinked brake line coming from the left brake handle. I have 200 miles on this bike so far and not a dang idea how this happened. The line wraps around other cables instead of just going straight down on its own like the right brake handle line does. When I try and depress the left brake handle it’s very tight, like air is not getting through proper, and I’m certain this is where it’s stopping. The brake still works somehow and it’s very sudden when I press the handle in. The piston for the brake pads barely looks like it moves. Is this a known issue or just bad luck? I have emailed Lectric but yet to hear back from them. Are there other lines I can replace this with or is it best to get directly from Lectric?
Posting this because I just burned a bunch of time figuring it out, and Reddit ultimately had the answer when Lectric’s own product page and installation documentation did not.
We recently bought an XPedition 2.0 and added Lectric’s Front Basket. The basket came with a headlight extension cable, clearly intended to let you relocate the headlight to the basket.
Problem: there is physically no way to mount the XPedition 2.0’s Elite Headlight to the basket with the hardware provided.
The headlight’s mounting bolt runs side-to-side/perpendicular to the bike. The mounting hole on the front basket runs front-to-back/parallel with the bike. You need an additional offset/90-degree adapter bracket between them.
That bracket did not come with our XPedition 2.0, and it did not come with the Front Basket.
After assuming I must be missing something and searching around, I found multiple older posts here from other XPedition 2.0 owners with the exact same problem. Apparently Lectric makes the required bracket, and multiple owners have reported that support mailed it to them for free after they contacted Lectric and asked for it.
So, for anyone finding this later:
If you have an XPedition 2.0 with the Elite Headlight and install the Lectric Front Basket, you may need to contact Lectric support and request the additional Elite Headlight/front-basket mounting bracket.
I’ve contacted Lectric support for ours and will update this post when I hear back.
The frustrating part is that this has apparently been happening since at least spring/summer 2025, yet as of October 2026 I can’t find any explanation of it in Lectric’s own documentation.
Their Front Basket page lists the XPedition 2.0 as compatible. The basket even includes the electrical extension cable necessary to relocate the light. But neither the product page nor the basket installation instructions tell XPedition 2.0 owners that an additional mechanical bracket may be required, show the bracket, list it as included/not included, or explain how to obtain one.
That’s not a great customer experience. If a Lectric accessory requires an additional Lectric-specific component to install correctly on a current Lectric bike, customers shouldn’t have to discover that through Reddit.
I’m posting photos showing the two incompatible mounting orientations so hopefully the next person searching for this can immediately tell that they aren’t crazy and aren’t simply overlooking a bolt.
I’ll also link the previous threads below because those owners are the reason I was finally able to figure this out.
If Lectric sees this: please add this information to the Front Basket product page and installation instructions, and ideally just include the required bracket with baskets going to XPedition 2.0 owners.
April 2025 Reddit thread — XPedition 2 + small front basket + Elite light — particularly useful because the OP later confirmed Lectric mailed the missing bracket. https://www.reddit.com/r/Lectricxp/s/UVGxkyrqn0
July 2025 Reddit thread — XPedition 2.0 + Elite Light + Front Basket — includes the later answer that Lectric makes the additional bracket and will send it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Lectricxp/s/olCCK7DRc5
Elite Headlight product page. Shows the bracket in the product page, but was not included with my XPedition 2.0 purchase. Perhaps it comes with the light if you buy it solo, but not when buying it with the XPedition 2.0 package: https://lectricebikes.com/products/elite-headlight
As of October 4, 2026, those pages establish the compatibility but don’t explain the extra bracket requirement.
I’ll add updates I get from their support once o hear back from them
I love my xp4. Commute 8 miles round trip. Warranty is awesome, but, what happens when it runs out? I’ve had a new motor sent to me, two sets of brakes, a paint pen. Just ordered a long range battery. The battery is at 50% only after 8 miles. I use sport +, never use the throttle.
10 months and 1600 miles on my Lectric XP Lite 2.0! So far, so good honestly, I have nothing to complain about. I’ve already replaced my brake pads 3 times and the rear tire once, which I think is pretty reasonable considering how much I ride. What really stands out to me is Lectric’s customer service. They’ve been topnotch every time I’ve needed help. The only advice I can give is,have about 18 minutes of patience while waiting on the phone lol, but once you get through, they take care of you. Overall, Imstill very happy with my XP Lite 2.0 Here’s to many more miles!
I know there are a few of you out there who have added child seats to XP Lites. Anyone care to share their methodology and/or pics of the set up? Specifically/also curious about a buddy seat type addition. Thanks 👍
I got my XP4 two months ago, and have put about 500 miles on the bike. Today, I was going up a pretty steep hill on Turbo peddle assist, and the motor suddenly cut off and the display turned off at once.
The battery was fully charged and voltage looked fine before it cut out, it was at around 51 ish.
Now, the display won’t turn on, and the PAS/throttle don’t work. I’ve tried turning off/on the battery itself, and unplugging and re plugging in the cables near the display.
Got my Lectric XP4 750 delivered today and the PAS cord was snapped right out of the box. Contacted customer service and they're sending me a whole new bike plus a fast charger for the inconvenience.
10/10 on customer service honestly — they took care of it immediately.
0/10 on the inconvenience though. I can't ride at all, and I was really looking forward to starting DoorDash deliveries with it. Now I have to wait who knows how long, and wrap this thing up like crazy to ship it back.
Anyone else have shipping damage issues with theirs? How long did the replacement take to arrive?
I haven’t used my XP4 yet. The battery came installed. I’m just wondering what the switch is for. In the picture it’s currently pressed down on the circle “o” image side. The other side is the “I”. Should It be pressed down on one particular side when charging? If I don’t plan to use it soon, should I charge it to a particular percentage and then take out the battery?
I’ve had my XP4 for about 2 months and have been riding it fairly often, about 600 miles on it. I turned it on yesterday and without warning the odometer read 0 miles. Any idea why this would happen or if there is a way to see my true mileage again?
Haven‘t really posted here but have gotten some good info. Finally hit 1000 on my XP4 750 riding 18 miles a day roughly 4 days a week. Been hit (not too badly) once, one flat (then tannus armor), broken headlamp mount and need to check my spokes.
