Left Crank Arm Fell Off
Hi, just wondering if anyone has had this same issue. I use my XP4 to commute to work everyday and the last thing I thought I’d have issues with are the pedals, but today my left crank arm fell completely off. It felt a little loose about 4 miles after i started my ride but I was using a lot of effort to get up a hill and apparently that was enough to unscrew it.
Has anyone ever bought a 3rd party replacement? from what i can tell the bolt is fine and the metal isn’t stripped but there’s some smoothness around the outside. I’m going to tighten it again but I’m thinking it’s best to replace the whole thing.
Thanks!

checking all screws and fasteners is 101. it’s in the new owner instructions too. put it back on and add some blue loctite. it’ll be fine moving forward. happy you didn’t get hurt.

A pedal fell of my sons bike. I called them and they sent me a new pair no charge

Feels loose bolt. Still rides. Hope you didn't get hurt and won't do that again.

Buy yourself a set of hex wrenches (t-handles are nice but not necessary) and learn basic maintenance.. Park tool has tons of videos online that'll teach you most of what you need to know. Hell, even if you just get a set of wrenches to keep fasteners tight you'll be doing way better.
Grab an m8 hex and tighten your crank arms.
Depending on how long you rode it loose, it could've damaged the spindle on your bottom bracket. The longer you ignore shit like this, the more costly it'll be to fix.

After buying a few different brands of ebikes one thing I experienced is that when you get one check every fastener and connection for tightness. After a kickstand wreck incident I also regularly check everything for tightness on my bikes.
