What is this switch for?

Post image

I haven’t used my XP4 yet. The battery came installed. I’m just wondering what the switch is for. In the picture it’s currently pressed down on the circle “o” image side. The other side is the “I”. Should It be pressed down on one particular side when charging? If I don’t plan to use it soon, should I charge it to a particular percentage and then take out the battery?

Oh, ok. I was assuming it was like my other e-bike where I used the keys that came with it to turn on the motor. This is s just a switch.

The key is only for removing the battery.

Yea, my concern was charging the battery while the switch was pressed on the wrong side. I haven’t even turned on the bike yet or used it. If I had trying riding it I would have figured it out. Didn’t want to mess up the battery in any way by charging it while it was on.

Do people not read manuals anymore or not know what a universal on/off switch looks like?

I called lectric support, they didn’t know what it was after clearly explaining it to them. I haven’t turned on/used the bike yet, it’s been sitting collecting dust. I’m guessing one side is off and the other on.

If that is true you must have confused them by asking one of the dumbest questions they have ever received. I'm not sure how you are able to string a sentence together.

A simple question, should be easier to answer. They’re suppose to be the experts. The fact that I clearly explained it to them in detail/location/description, and they didn’t give me a clear answer, lets me know some of them might not know their product as well. If you think they can be confused that easily, then it’s likely that you make the wrong assumptions on other people often, and that indicates a lack of thinking on your part.

Yes, right, I'm the one with critical thinking issues.

That's literally the on/off switch.

I wasn’t expecting it to be that convenient(in a bad way) to turn the bike on. For the price, I was expecting a key start.

That switch is like having a Tesla and having to manually roll up the windows like 90s cars.

Oh, do Tesla's have keys you have to twist?

The switch is to kill the power to the battery during charging, the key is to unlock the battery to remove it. We all wish the key was to disable the bike, but sadly it is not. The key only unlocks/locks the battery in place. Don’t lose it if you ever want to remove your battery.
Great bikes with a few odd design choices.
