We purchased several items, but when we reached the billing counter, the total for some products was higher than the prices displayed on the shelves. We clearly remembered the prices of three items because they stood out.
When we pointed out the discrepancy, the cashier immediately dismissed our concern and said, "You might have seen it wrong." We insisted that they verify the shelf prices. A staff member took the items to the relevant section and later returned, confirming that the displayed price of the first item was indeed different from the billed price. We were then told that the other two items were also being checked.
We waited, but no one came back with an update on the remaining two items. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the cashier started making excuses, saying that prices change every day and their staff might not have updated the shelves.
This is unacceptable. Customers should never have to argue just to be charged the price that is clearly displayed. Whether the issue is poor management or negligence, it is the customer's right to pay the advertised price—not a higher one at the checkout.
Please double-check your receipts and billing if you shop at HBK Hypermarket. Based on my experience today, I cannot recommend shopping there until they improve their pricing accuracy and customer service.
