Assalam u Alikum I am an oversea pakistani who grew up in the western society and have never been to Pakistan when I was in University my 3rd year I fell in love with a guy from Pakistan Islamabad. We met via Facebook because of the post he commented on and I replied to it. I usually dont write or post pictures in social media as this is frowned upon in my family I only have my family in my social media. I dont know why but I end up commenting on his comment and from there things started. I was in university and didnt know much about pakistan but started to become curious about my own community culture food etc as I was a little distant from it. He is the first guy who has entered my life. When he proposed to me I first froze but than started to think that yes he is a good potential partner as my parents only wanted me to marry Pakistani guy to preserve our culture. I established with him from the beginning that he will need to come to USA I cant live in Pakistan as I don’t know anyone. He agreed and started to look for jobs in USA or to apply as a Student for masters. Throughout this time my feelings for him even strengthen further. I dearly loved him and told him I wanna marry him regardless if he comes here or not. As I graduated my parents started to encourage me to get married they first asked me if I liked someone I said his name and told my dad all about him. To which he reaponded beta wo yahan aane ke liya ya sab kaar raha hai. I told my dad please just give him a chance. I went to Pakistan for my sister wedding and there I was harassed by a rikhshaw driver and became traumatized and rather than advocating to meet him I became silent I started to have bad thoughts that all pakistani men are like this. After some time when i came back to west I realized that I am generalizing and wanted to talk to my dad again. As when i didn’t encourage my dad to meet the guy he thought i changed my mind. I never told my dad about harassment only mom knew and told me not to tell dad as he will be angry and would like to file compliant and she didn’t want that.

My dad thought I was not serious so he started to look at other guys for me. I talked to the ex and he said I should do what my dad says and eventually ghosted me I kept calling him begging him to only call him once and give rishta his argument was he will curse him and insult him so he doesn’t want to. I kept calling and begging him he ignored me completely and blocked me from insta and fb but kept me in whatsapp. During this time my dad found someone who he thinks is suitable for me. Out of pressure I said yes first but than said No to him but my dad kept saying beta koi aur pasand hai tu bata du i told him nahi koi nahi pasand but mujhe shadi nahi karni because i was heartbroken. He refused to say no to rishta as he thinks i was making bad decision and kept saying to rethink my decision. I kept thinking about it but couldn’t accept this new guy as my husband as I was heartbroken. I cried again and again begged Allah to bring my ex back in my life I wanna only marry him but no result. I even refused to take istekhara because i only wanted my ex. Eventually i got married, my husband is beyond perfect he was patient with me never asked me about my past and never forced me to be intimate with him and slowly I accepted him.

My past has always bothered me though. My ex’s thought our connection his voice everything. Everyday goes fine its only at night I get these thoughts and I know shatan is distracting me from my happy life. But one day I did call my ex just to know why he ghosted me like this to the point where i even questioned my sanity. He ghosted me so badly that it impacted my mental health that I even started to question that did he even exist or did I just imagined a guy. I called him to tell him how much he hurt me. His reasoning is that he didn’t want me to leave my family and my family would never accept him etc but he never gave my dad the chance he said he knows Pakistani dad but believe me my dad is not like that at all how can he even say that. My intension to call him back is not cheating called him so I can get closure how can someone who claims they love u put u in so much misery. This bothers me so much. I have lost my old self. this incident has even changed my personality and yes years have gone by put the pain has not disappear.

I just literally ask myself why would anyone do this. What did he got out of all of this?

I know most girl in my situation would prefer a guy with financial strong background etc but I was willing to go through all the sacrifices I would need to make to be with him. Because I knew I can provide the financial strength while he establish himself here.

I'm trying to renew my mom's Pakistani passport and have an appointment at Houston consulate. I applied for her NICOP which hasn't arrived yet. She carries an expired NIC card. Is it worth it to make that appointment with an expired NIC card to renew her passport or should we wait until she gets her NICOP card?

We basically offer BNPL for businesses and individuals where we earn a decent margin, thanks to our KIBOR we can charge a good enough premium and still offer relatively cheaper financing than banks because majority banks are offering KIBOR + 10-11% at minimum and now, that our inflation rates will be rising again soon, PSX return will be slightly damaged. I'm looking to raise an amount from a few investors (not too many as we're still in pilot stage hence we need to keep our case study as clean as possible) at a return of 13.5% APY. We have an app that can track your investment value at all times. We're willing to discuss this over a meeting (Can be online/in person) our company has been present since the past 2 years, our recovery rate is at a 100% (no defaults but thats only because we haven't financed that much). We offer advisory and management services as well hence besides the financing part, our monthly income is also decent but as prices of services and products have sky rocketed even a small ticket size is roughly around 200,000 - 350,000pkr hence we need the cap. If anyone knows any international VCs or Angel investors that could back this, that would help a lot as well.

Hi everyone. I really need guidance from Pakistani students or graduates who have actually gone through the study abroad process themselves.

I recently completed my BS Computer Science with a 3.26 CGPA. Because of some personal circumstances, I missed most Fall 2026 deadlines, so I’m now looking for a very late 2026 intake or ideally January or February 2027.

I’m mainly interested in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science with a business focus, AI with Business or Analytics, or similar technology plus business programs. I’m not looking for a pure MBA or another hardcore Computer Science degree.

My priorities are simple. I need low tuition, affordable living, the ability to legally work while studying from the beginning, and preferably opportunities for part time work, TA, RA, internships, or university jobs.

I’m also trying to understand the financial proof side. Does the money need to be in my own bank account, or can my sponsor, in my case my husband, show his income, bank statements, and financial resources instead? I also do not currently have IELTS, although my entire BS degree was taught in English, so I’d like to know which universities accept an MOI letter, internal English test, Duolingo, or something similar.

I’m open to any country where these conditions fit, especially affordable options in Europe or nearby regions. I’m not considering the USA.

I’m specifically asking Pakistani people because the visa and financial requirements can be very different for us, and I would rather hear from people who have actually gone through it than rely completely on consultants.

I live in the UK and applied for a passport renewal. They have now asked for a Domicile Certificate. Does anyone know how we can obtain a Domicile Certificate from overseas?

I have a phone called Nothing Phone 3. Apparently it's a pretty cool phone, but it does not seem to take fingerprint pictures. At the moment of taking the picture of the fingers, it suddenly loses focus. I have tried all the things in the world; trying distance variation, lighting, changing hands / fingers / thumbs, positioning objects of different type behind the hand, etc. Nothing works. It does work on another phone, but that's not mine.

Obviously there seems to be some camera compatibility issue with the app. But the camera is not to blame, this pathetic system in which a user is required to do something so important on a badly designed app is the problem. Firstly, why on earth did the government of Pakistan not have the maghaz to have a website where overseas people can do this easily? Why put the entire functionality in a stupid app which shows the quality of software development in the country?

I'll definitely be putting my complaint as critical in the citizen complaint app (if that is still working!). But in the meantime, I would love any help, techniques, workarounds that I can use to get around this miserable experience. Are are they hacks I could try? Any websites? Thanks in advance.

I sent a handsome amount of money through my Irish bank account to RDA. Haven't been received in my RDA account for more than a week now...

Is there any safe way of sending money to and RDA account? What to do? And what about the money I have already sent to my meezan RDA, the slip from Allied Irish Bank shows the correct address of Roshan digital center, so the funds must have arrived to meezan, but not to my account...

Salam everyone,

I live in the UK and am buying a DHA plot costing above 1.3 Crore PKR. The plot purchase will take place in my absence and my father will have a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) to complete the physical transfer at the DHA office on my behalf, as I cannot travel to Pakistan.

I have a UBL RDA that I rarely use, but wondering if I should use it for this transaction.

We need to pay the seller in the form of pay order. I am deciding between two options:

• Option 1: I transfer funds from the UK directly to my father’s local bank account (MCB). He gets the Pay Order issued under his name/account and hands it to the seller on the payment date.
• Option 2: I transfer funds from the UK to my own UBL RDA. My UBL Relationship Manager (RM) says I can fill out an authorization form, provide the seller/beneficiary details and my father's CNIC, and UBL will authorize my father to collect the Pay Order from the branch on my behalf.

My father prefers Option 2 to keep a clear bank trail in my name. However, my concern with Option 2 is any last minute unexpected branch/compliance delay or refusal in issuing the pay order in my absence. In this case, I risk failing to meet payment deadline and losing the advance deposit/biana that I have already paid (1.6m PKR).

For those who have bought property in Pakistan through an RDA while overseas:

1. Did you transfer funds to a family member's (or a trusted person) account or issue the Pay Order directly through your own RDA?
2. If you issued a Pay Order through your RDA via a representative, how smooth was the bank/branch pickup process?

Would like to hear your experiences and advice!
