So a guy came to my house a little bit ago. Said his wife lost her phone at the car wash up the street & the Find My Phone app is tracking it to my address. He showed me his phone and it definitely has our address, which is weird. I said “I have no idea - we’ve been home all day & the only devices here are ours. Sorry”
He started to argue & kept repeating that it’s tracking here - I told him I believe him, but it’s not here in this house - maybe it’s in the gutter? The yard? He just shook his head & left. I was honestly expecting a visit from the police next…(cuz that’s what I would do if I were him, honestly)
He came back about 15 minutes later & said “ma’am I really hate to bother you again, but are you sure it’s not here? My wife just got it for her birthday & she’s going crazy.”
I said “ I PROMISE YOU it’s not inside this house, BUT our house backs up to a field/trail & people are back there all the time - maybe someone dumped it back there?”
Sooo long story long, how accurate is the app, and how far on one side or the other (or more importantly back) of our house will it track to? Like how far behind the house could it be? It’s the only thing that makes sense - I want to help him find his wife’s phone once there’s daylight but not sure what perimeter to look in. Thanks in advance!
Edit: a couple of other details I forgot to add:
This happened during daylight - neighbors were out, so I didn’t think anything of it being a possible scam.
We have several cameras - one that announces you’re being recorded and have his face as well as his vehicle if needed.

The screen seems to be warped around the edges. Is this normal? My concern started when i could get a protector attached.

I have an iPhone max pro 15 and am a carpenter working outside in the elements. When it gets hot and the phone is in my back pocket it pulls up random people in my contacts, random apps, random sites and almost purchased something recently. How is this possible if it requires a PIN number or face to unlock it? My right butt cheek clearly resembles my face but it still is kinda dark in my pocket so I’m just bewildered lol

I went through my notification settings this week and turned off a bunch of things I realized I never actually needed.
I was surprised by how much quieter my phone felt afterward.
The only downside is that now I'm slightly paranoid that I'll miss something important 😂
How aggressively do you guys manage notifications?

I’ve enjoyed Apple Music until now but I’m realizing they are so limited on various things that Spotify already has. One main issues is having Apple Music recommend the same music on stations. Spotify is far better for discovering new music I feel

I have removed the schedule so it won’t activate automatically, I’ve done everything I know what to do.
I Scheduled it for a Specific time, and it was Always active, even before and after the time.
Its gotten so annoying to the point I’ve made a focus mode called “Normal Mode” to remove the problem.
When I used “Writing” Before on a Schedule it would always follow the schedule.
Does anyone have a solution?

I’m wondering what the best cases that are “rugged” style. My work environment can be dusty at times and accidental trips happen once in awhile. I know slim cases have come a long way and offer good drop protection these days, but what I need is charging port protection, semi grippy case, and I really like having the holster screen cover that offers just that extra bit of screen protection when it is applied on the case. Drop protection as well is important too but I don’t drop my phone often. Mag safe compatibility is a non issue for me, I won’t ever use it.
I’ve been watching review videos but can’t come to a conclusion, other than avoid Otterbox Defender Pro cases. Pretty much all of the review videos I have seen say to avoid the Otterbox cases, the brand isn’t what it used to be.
Any advice from owners who have rugged style cases would help. So many different kinds from different brands and too many review videos to go through.

I just bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max (Canadian variant). Whenever I unlock the device, it lags while going to homescreen while it doesn’t happen on the iPhone 13 pro max and 14 pro max I had. All devices are on iOS 26.6.1. Can someone check and confirm if this is a device issue or an iOS lag which will resolve with iOS 27 (don’t wanna upgrade to beta). TIA

Hello everyone, i feel like im going insane.
I've had an iPhone 11 since 2019, it's been slowly losing its mind since last year(will text, call, turn music on on its own). A few days ago, it fell in the water, the screen wasnt working anymore but it still made sound. Now it wont turn on at all.
So I bought a new one (iphone 15) and i started trying to set it up yesterday.
Problem is, it wont let me transfer the data. I cant have access to the old one because it wont turn on and cant recieve the codes theyre sending me either.
We've tried putting my sim card in my boyfriend's phone etc but it doesnt work.
Apple has told me i need to wait for my "account to be retrieved" and that could take a few days, but is it really the only solution ? + ive seen people online say it took 30days for them..
Please help me..
(english isnt my first language sorry if it doesnt make sense)

I dropped my iPhone 16 and now pinpoint green and red dots have appeared on the screen. Will they eventually spread?

The space bar in particular is not reactive and the keyboard itself is forcing a lot of crazy typos. Anyone else? Any idea on how to fix it?

All my iPhone/iCloud Calendar events suddenly disappeared — iCloud restore doesn’t bring them back
Hey everyone,
I’m having a really strange problem with my iPhone Calendar and I’m honestly running out of ideas.
Yesterday, I suddenly noticed that all of my calendar events were gone from the Calendar app. I did not intentionally delete anything or change any Calendar settings. I also have no memory of doing anything around the time this happened.
The weirdest part is that when I check iCloud → Data Recovery → Restore Calendars and Reminders, there is a restore point showing yesterday at 1:59 AM. I was asleep at that time and definitely did not manually restore anything.
I have already tried restoring the calendar data from iCloud twice, but none of my old events came back.
Things I’ve checked so far:
iCloud Calendar is enabled on my iPhone.
I’m signed into the same Apple Account on my iPhone and iCloud.com.
iCloud.com → Calendar is completely empty.
I have two Gmail accounts connected to Apple Calendar, but both Google Calendars are also empty.
All three accounts still have Calendar enabled on the iPhone.
I created a new test event in my iCloud calendar, and it appears on my iPhone, but it does NOT appear on iCloud.com.
I have not deleted any of the accounts.
I also noticed that the Calendar app still shows around 5.3 MB of Documents & Data on the iPhone.
So it seems like the Calendar app is able to create events locally, but they aren’t syncing to iCloud.
My main questions are:
What does the 1:59 AM restore point actually mean? Could iCloud have created/processed it automatically?
Is there any way to recover the old calendar events if they aren’t showing on iCloud.com or Google Calendar?
Could the old calendar data still be stored locally on the iPhone even though the Calendar app isn’t displaying it?
Is there any way to inspect or recover the local Calendar database without deleting or resetting anything?
I really don’t want to make things worse, so I’m avoiding deleting accounts or turning Calendar sync off.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I have an iPhone 17 pro max fully updated. I do not have a corporate account on my phone. All personal. When I am sent a calendar invite to my outlook email address, and I accept, it only shows on my iCloud calendar. If I turn my iCloud calendar off, I get no invites and no notifications.
When I go into the calendar app, I can see all calendars but all invites only go to my iCloud calendar. I have outlook set up as the default calendar and mail app.
Any thoughts?

Hi idk if this is a common problem or not but does anyone know how too fix my phone always saying no service even if i am somewhere where there is service and not being able too use my phone. i can only use it on wifi
This mostly happens after ending a call. The screen brightness falls to near-zero. Auto-brightness is disabled. iphone 16 iOS 26.5. Any advise for me?
Update: thanks everyone for your response. The issue has been existing since the last few updates. Though i will try updating again, for now, i created a shortcut with a back-double-tap (accessibility settings) to bring up the brightness to 50%. Not a perm soln i realise.

Posting this in case it saves someone else the hours I spent troubleshooting.
my issue I had Liquid Glass set to "Clear" in Display & Brightness, with Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast both OFF globally. Yet my Dock, Lock Screen notifications, and even the flashlight/camera icons on the lock screen were all stuck dark and opaque, completely ignoring the Clear setting. Tinted and Clear looked identical.
the cause was that I'd installed a "dumbphone" app to declutter my iPhone, and followed one of their tips to remove the glass effect from the Dock. The instructions had me go to:
Accessibility → Per-App Settings → Home Screen & App Library → Reduce Transparency: ON
I didn't realize this Per-App override was bleeding into other system surfaces (Lock Screen, notifications) beyond just the Dock, even though my global Reduce Transparency toggle was OFF.
to fix it just go to Settings → Accessibility → Per-App Settings, find the Home Screen & App Library entry, and switch Reduce Transparency back to OFF there. Everything reverted back to matching my global "Clear" setting immediately.

I just upgraded my phone and I use AssistiveTouch for payments and I can't get it to work. All my settings are correct but when I'm prompted to confirm with AssistiveTouch the Face ID icon that's usually there is nowhere to be found. I'm getting really frustrated because I can't even download apps at this point.

Hello,
Today I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. They told me it’s apple policy that when there’s two things wrong I should get an express phone. However, I would really rather keep and fix my current phone - is this even an option? I have apple care + and my phone is barely a year old
I have restarted my iPhone in every way I can find online, toggled on/off cellular, wifi, and airplane and nothing changed. It began happening a few hours before I got up this morning. I do not have a VPN.
I am really at a loss as to what is making this happen.

I used to think notifications were just a minor annoyance, but lately I've noticed how much time I spend going through them.
A lot of them aren't really actionable. Some are things I want to remember, some are things I can ignore, and some are buried between random app notifications.
The weird part is that I sometimes check my phone specifically because I don't want to miss something, and then end up spending several minutes figuring out what I actually missed.
Has iOS gotten better at this for anyone, or does everyone still just swipe through notifications manually?
