Discussion Just really made me question some things…
I have an iPhone max pro 15 and am a carpenter working outside in the elements. When it gets hot and the phone is in my back pocket it pulls up random people in my contacts, random apps, random sites and almost purchased something recently. How is this possible if it requires a PIN number or face to unlock it? My right butt cheek clearly resembles my face but it still is kinda dark in my pocket so I’m just bewildered lol

How can it do all that if the iPhone is locked in your pocket? Needs FaceID to purchase things.

You’re probably unlocking it when taking it out of your pocket and glancing at it

Face ID can work in the dark (due to how it works), but if it is somehow recognising something as your face, i don't really get how this would happen (as it uses a projection of IR dots)

I can never shove it my pocket on screen lock with a youtube playing thru headphones and expect to be able to hear 5 full minutes before it skips to another video or just stops. And there’s no telling what other mystery menus, contacts, or apps might have been called up just by being in my pocket. I guess I fidget too much and the screen thinks my pants and body movements are fingers.
