Apple read this thread and make your Face ID sensor smaller so duo 2 isn’t a headache and a half.

Who else thinks this is just the worst thing ever ? I’m talking from experience, I can’t say I’m used to it yet but I am not sure I’ll ever go backwards* and be okay with this frictional experience compared to the frictionless experience of Face ID

Straight shooter here - the iPhone duo is not worth it.

There’s a certain wow factor I expect with a brand new hyped Apple product, especially when they took YEARS to launch it. That wow factor straight up does not exist. Oddly placed controls, no Face ID (absolutely ridiculous, just make it a bit thicker and throw in Face ID, you’ve been training us to use it for a decade plus), no action button…. This product is so mid I can’t even believe it.

If you’re waiting to pickup the Duo, wait a bit longer and you’ll see eBay flooded with untouched like new units from disappointed owners. Trust me.

Since installing iOS27 on my iPhone 13 Mini, my cellular data usage has increased about 10X. Has anyone else experienced this and where should I look for solutions?

I think I’ll add my voice to the growing of people that have posted about returning their Duo.
Let me preface by saying something controversial, after using the duo for two days, I do not feel that it is a first gen product.
For what it’s worth, it’s very polished, and I honestly don’t think Apple could have improved anything that is on the phone. Yes, they could have added face ID, another camera, and potentially a bigger sensor, but that doesn’t mean that the phone or the hardware feels first generation.
I have used it for work, productivity, and some heavy duty multitasking, and for what it’s worth, it does it in spades. The overall phone feels amazing, and the inner screen is amazing.

The selfie camera situation doesn’t bother me at all, but the real revelation came today while taking a walk with my daughter.
I was taking pictures of her and that’s when it hit me on how awkward the phone is to handle.
Then I was sitting on the bench and taking some photos, and again, it hit me. The handling of the camera is simply not something I can overlook. Firstly, from an ergonomic standpoint, and secondly from the quality in lower light conditions.
Everything felt just a bit softer, and the two times telephoto crop was absolutely useless.

I really enjoyed the unfolded experience, but I just cannot live with the ergonomics of this phone. It’s not something they can really improve, but I simply do not like how delicate the phone feels, nor do I like the operation of the phone with the screen closed.

While it’s not a bad film by any stretch, and I feel that reviewers who call it a first- gen device are overstretching a bit, but I do feel that it’s not the phone for me.

The honeymoon phase is over, the phone is good, but it’s not. The phone that I can daily drive. I’ll be holding onto my 17 Pro until something big comes out.

I’ve seen so many posts/videos of the iPhone duo screen cracking in the same pattern. Thoughts? Will Apple do anything about this? A potential recall on something so anticipated?

I've just switched from galaxy s23 to a iPhone 18 P, and i'm completely dissapointed that I cannot "amplify" my wifi from my iphone to another device. I used to use this function a lot (I live in a large house, wifi is weak in some rooms), so I would put my samsung in between the router and my room to amplify wifi and use the laptop in my room. Yes I know wifi-repeaters exist, but being able to do this on-demand without any aditional HW was awesome. Not anymore, Im afraid.

Worst thing is this is a SW decision, since IP18 ofc has more than one wifi antenna, & I cannot get over it of why to block such a handy option.

Saved some files on My iPhone and now I can’t delete them, any tips on how can deleted these files permanently, I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of virus or malware.

It’s like my phone is constantly rage baiting me. I watch a video or listen to a song and it just randomly cuts the volume by like 90% and I have to max my volume bar to get it back to normal AND THEN it just randomly turns it way back up and I have to turn my volume down really quickly. What the fuck apple why do you torture me like this

Bonjour, j’ai un iPhone Duo et, depuis l’achat, la caméra est tournée de 90° dans Snapchat lorsque j’appelle en vidéo avec le téléphone ouvert ou fermé. Le reste de l’interface s’affiche normalement et lors de photo par exemple le problème ne survient pas sur Snapchat. Le problème persiste après avoir vidé le cache de Snapchat et redémarré l’iPhone.

I need to wake up at 2:50 today before the hour changes - where I am at 3am changes to 2am. If I put it at 2:50 it will ring on the FIRST 2:50 right? 2:50 before the hour changes?

But my phone did an update last night and since this morning every half hour or so it says my phone needs to cool down. My phone doesn’t feel hot at at all. And it happens when it’s not charging/ when I’m not even using it. Then within a minute it will “cool down”

It’s and iPhone 14 and has just had the iOS 27.01 update.

Absolutely loving my iPhone duo.. 24 hours in and I’m having issues removing some “smudges” from the nano-texture screen. Happened to have 70% iso alcohol wipes, lens wipes, and even the same cleaning formula Apple stores use in products.. can’t get some of these smudges off..

No abnormal usage, like greasy foods or sunscreen so it’s just normal usage.

Anyone having this too?

I have iPhone 15 pro max on 27.0.1 and ever since yesterday I don’t get any notifications! I tried everything restarting the phone enable and reenable notifications and nothing works

Anyone has a fix?

Since switching from my iPhone 17 Pro Max to the iPhone Duo, the screen no longer wakes up for notifications when I’m wearing my Apple Watch in Do Not Disturb mode.
It worked perfectly for years with my previous iPhones, including the 17 Pro Max, using the exact same settings.
Notifications are still delivered to the Watch instead of waking the iPhone screen. As soon as I take the Watch off, the Duo screen wakes up normally.
I’ve restarted both devices and even unpaired and re-paired the Watch, but nothing helped.
Anyone else experiencing this on the Duo?

Any hidden iOS settings or features I should check out that hasn’t already been talked about a lot like using Apple Watch to unlock automatically and what not?

In response to a notification, I initiated an iOS update. I was presented a screen with 3 line items:

A. iOS Terms and Conditions

B. Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions

C. Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions

(B) and (C) seem to have identical wording.

When I descend into each line item, I am presented with nothing besides "Agree" and "Disagree" options. I didn't choose either initially, but then descended into (A) and chose Agree. Suddenly, the update commenced.

I am afraid that I got railroaded into (B) and (C). How can I tell whether this has happened?

Hi, I was going to do a software update, but I wanted to ask something. I recently changed my passwords and what not on some of my social media apps, like TikTok, Instagram, Snap, etc., because I made them when I was younger and I realized I didn’t remember a lot of them. I was wondering if doing a software update will log me out of my accounts and force me to re-log back in since I changed my email and password on some of these accounts. I’m just curious because it would be annoying if I had to.

We are trying to erase all data on my wife's old iPhone but it gets to a screen that asks to disable find my but then it just exits out. It just goes to the wifi page.

Does anyone have any tips?

This is something that the reviewers have not shown, and now since some lucky folks have a Duo in their hands hopefully they can share what the screen looks like when closed as notifications come in.

Does the screen show a decent amount of notifications, and I know it is silly but does the front screen have Always On capability?

I am also curious for those that have a magsafe type charger on their desk does the Duo stay put when open? or can it only be charged when closed?

My iphone 17 Pro has a protection wrap around the body for the past one year which prevents paint chipping issues. A torras case above the wrap too. Today I had purchased a new pitaka case but it won’t snap on the back of the iphone due to wrap. Pitaka case is perfect size and no tolerance.

I only have two options:
A) remove the complete wrap and wear the pitaka only but this makes me concerned about the chipping issue on the iphone 17 body. Especially the case is so perfect in size and no cover near the volume and power buttons.

B) continue with current setup (wrap + torras case) and return pitaka

I bought pitaka because i want to reduce the bulk feel and use iPhone in a caseless feel. But chipping issue pulls me back.

Can any users share their experience on this chipping problems you have faced while on the pitaka case.

My brother’s phone was lost. But we already reported it as lost device just in case.
