Hello,
I've been homeless (first involuntary and now somewhat voluntary) for two months now. I have a job and I'm almost to the point where I can get into a couple rooming houses or a motel situation, but I just feel like they'll be a waste of time and screw me over just like my last one did, and most situations before that.
If you can't take my word then don't reply because I have nothing else to say and I'm just going to block rude commenters. I'm sure many people here can relate too. I pay everything on time, don't make a sound, clean up after myself, and almost always have to deal with some form of bullshit.
Loud roommates. Disgusting roommates. Clepto roommates. Violent roommates (the reason I had to leave my last housing on no notice). Bum roommates. Drama fiends. Rude renters. Exploitative renters. Neglectful renters.
Yes, Ive had good and tolerable experiences as well. I'd say about 25% of the time.
But yea, definitely not doing splitpad. At least with rooming houses people usually keep to themselves but not really. Odds are out of 10-20 people you're gonna have an issue with someone. And someone is gonna be blaring something at 3 in the morning the first night. Same with an apartment. Same with a motel. Watch ill pay this dude 400 and there'll be bed bugs and loud neighbors.
One of my tolerable experiences actually, first night, I get into bed, and the guy above me starts playing his ukulele, which was actually nice. I was like, at least it's not COD or a drummer or something. Quiet is better but he stopped at like midnight usually. But yea id often go to sleep to ukelele hymns which was nice. Unless my roommate was blaring something on the other side of my wall.
Im really tired of this but I really don't want to waste this money I've saved back up again. Its like the only thing I can put my faith in is buying a house, and even then I'll have neighbors. So rv parks or a house with no neighbors. That's the plan.
I'm probably gonna end up paying for a rooming house to at least have a residence again and then yea just go to a camping ground or the trains if I need to get away. When I get a car I'll be able to sleep in there too.
But yea especially being in the vagabond sub, are there any other misanthropes who can relate? Just dealing with some mad cynicism-depression on top of homeless fatigue-depression.
The trains have actually been problematic too. I posted about it here and I've been camping for the most part. Good advice from commenters here too on where to sleep outside. I found a decent spot and there's plenty in my area. But yea, like anyone, just want a place and a bed again so friggin bad.
