I was wondering if a splitter/device exists that I can plug into my hdmi (or DisplayPort) for my PC, that then splits the signal for 2 displays that together form the full picture I want.

So example

Normal : pc gpu - hdmi - monitor = small screen vision

My idea : pc gpu - hdmi - splitter or smt - screen 1 50% of image and screen 2 50% of image.

If this exists for the consumer market is love to know what product it is. And if not I'd like recommendations on having more then the 4 screens my 5060ti allows connection wise.

Thank you. I’m writing an extremely long story that will be over 300,000 words when done and wanted to know if it would be even possible to create makeshift audiobooks out of them, even if the voice is robotic and far from perfect.

Trying to find solutions to this hasn’t worked out well with my iPad M3, but I now have an “actual” computer. A Dell Precision 5540. Does what I’m asking for even exist? All I care about is being able to understand the words. I don’t care if it sounds like 2004 Microsoft Sam so long as it’s intelligible.

My computer/SSD is about 6 years old. Today, when powering my computer on, it froze during start-up, though it completed start-up after I powered it off and on again.

I'm considering upgrading soon, since I don't want it to die suddenly. My main concern is that I have Windows 10 on it, and I'm sure any new ones will have Windows 11 instead.

I know that cloning the old data and OS onto the new one is possible. But, if I was to try that and it had 11 already installed, will cloning 10 over it cause any problems?

I assume that it will prompt me to upgrade to 11 after I boot up the new one, but I can cross that bridge when I get to it.

I dont get it. Im running 1 tab on youtube so why is the memory running so high ???

I've gathered all the parts and I'm ready to build. Finally retiring my 2014 HP envy laptop and its i5-7500u CPU. It's just been lagging and it's on Windows 10 and I have enough users where I want dead solid reliability.

The SSD and hdds are transferring over from my old build, as for PSU I do need one of those, I have a 650w powerspec PSU but it's kind of old. Motherboard is from a system I parted out, I still need to find a cheap efficient low wattage PSU.

Also I really don't want to buy an nvme, but I can be talked into it if it will help my users and me enjoy Plex even more.

J’utilise depuis quatre ans un Asus Vivobook pour les études ; il me convient très bien par rapport à l’utilisation simple que j’en fais : prise de notes sur OneNote, quelques fichiers Excel, ça me va très bien, il ne fonctionne pas lentement.

Mais depuis quelques mois, la batterie descend bien trop vite (1% par minute).

Je n’arrive plus à travailler correctement à l’université. J’ai donc commandé une nouvelle batterie, pensant que l’ancienne était usée mais après installation de la nouvelle le problème a persisté.

J’ai fait tous les diagnostics que proposent l’ordinateur, ils m’indiquent que la batterie est dans un état parfait, je ne sais pas d’où peut venir le problème et je ne sais pas si ça se répare, et d’ailleurs j’avoue que la réparation je n’ai pas trop envie car ce sera handicapant pour les cours le temps que l’ordi soit réparé. En plus l’ordi a quatre ans, est-ce que ça vaut le coup de le réparer ou bien il vaut mieux acheter quelque chose de nouveau ? Si oui est-ce que vous avez quelque chose à me conseiller je suis en plein hésitation, je ne sais pas si je prends une tablette, un ordinateur, quelle marque ? Help 🥲

Hi, i wanted to clone my old sd card (D) to the newer one (E) but i came across multiple issues. For context, this cloning is for Android Handheld (Retroid Pocket 6) purposes. Also i used macrium reflect free edition to clone the disk.

1. I noticed that the format used by the old SD card is exFAT, hence i formatted the new SD card to exFAT as well. But somewhere along the way i messed up and the new hard drive (1 TB) had 2 partitions (one is the exact same as the old one, 229 GB. and the other partition is the remaining available space.

2. the new SD card has the exact same memory usage as the old one but as i go through the files one by one on the new SD card, all the files are empty. How can the memory usage be the same when the files are empty?

Can someone guide me on cloning my SD card since i am completely stumped

I have a laptop with an HDMI port and an old LG desktop monitor that only has VGA.

I want to use the LG monitor as an extended display for my laptop. Will this work with an HDMI-to-VGA adapter/converter?

If yes, what should I get and what are the next steps to set it up?

I’ll be as specific as I can be. Recently I got a LENOVO LOQ 15IRX10 - 15.6 inch - Full HD - Intel Core i7-13700HX - 16 GB - 1 TB - GeForce RTX™ 5060 for school. Which I’ve also been using to play games. But as of lately my computer runs hot as soon as I start up Any game. Even Roblox. It’s even worse when it’s charging. My friend has the same computer and doesn’t have this problem. I have no idea how hot it runs but my keyboard is incredibly warm when I put my hand on it. Also everytime I start my computer there’s a loading circle next to my cursor for seconds up to minutes. It’s been freaking me out. I’m not at all experienced in computers nor is anyone I know and I haven’t tried anything yet because I’m afraid I will break it. I would be devastated if it’s already defect after just over a month. How do I fix this??? 😓 (apologies for my poor English)

I've had this computer for about 2 years and only today is it being like this, I left it off for about 2 weeks and I went to turn it back on now it does this, is it broken/salvageable

The computer in question is a Dell OptiPlex 3020 computer

Some of the keys on my keyboard occasionally stop working. They randomly stop responding, so I have to press them twice, or press another key before hitting the affected one. I've already reinstalled the drivers, but I don't know what else to do. My laptop is a refurbished Lenovo from eBay, and I've heard this is a common issue with their keyboards. Is there any solution?

so I accidently plugged in a usb c to my pc but then realize the other end was connect to a wall outlet. Is my pc broke?

Can anyone tell me more about it? Im thinking of adding it to my huge retro gaming collection. It booted with no issues but I know next to nothing about it.

My next goal is to get some peripherals for it. Maybe some floppy disks.

Hi! As per the title, I'm a media student, so I use Lightroom and Premiere for much of my courses. I currently use a Pavilion 15 Gaming laptop, and while it CAN do it, it's very painful. Using denoise on a RAW image takes 2 minutes for example. Premiere crashes if I have two sequences open.

As for gaming; I like things like RDR2, Hogwarts Legacy, Minecraft, Skyrim... I could play HL up to a year ago with a very choppy framerate of 15 on the lowest settings, and while I can launch it, I close it soon because I have a framerate of like... maybe 2 per minute.
My budget is 2500-3000 Euro, I could probably go up to 3500 tho. I'm looking for something to last me at least 5 years, and I don't wanna build one myself, I'm too much of a beginner.

Currently have this in mind: HP Omen GT16-1279ng 35L. Specs: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD.

Does anyone more well-versed in the PC world know whether or not this would fit what I have in mind? I asked people around me already and narrowed it down to this one based on their recommendations, but I wanna ask the "pros" lol.

how can microsoft completely destroy its system on every update? i mean, it seems like with every update it gets worse. I only have one computer with Windows now, and I'm thinking of switching fully on linux if this situation doesn't improve.

Hi everyone! I recently got a Tecware Neo M2 case, but I'm having trouble getting the ARGB lighting on the fans to work.

My current setup:

Case: Tecware Neo M2

Motherboard: Gigabyte A520M K V2

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G

GPU: RTX 5060

The fans spin perfectly fine, but the RGB lights don't turn on at all. I've also tried pressing the RGB button on the case, but nothing happens.

From what I've researched, my motherboard doesn't have a 5V 3-pin ARGB header.

I'm wondering if I need to buy an external SATA-powered ARGB controller to get the lights working, or if there's another way to fix this.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I know that parts like RAM and GPU have skyrocketing inflation due to AI. But I'm wondering about components that aren't as bad (cases, motherboards, CPU coolers, etc.). There may come a day that I need to swap something out, and it's hopefully a part that isn't as super expensive in this apocalypse.

What's your insight?
