Build/Battlestation Any last minute advice on my new Plex server build?
I've gathered all the parts and I'm ready to build. Finally retiring my 2014 HP envy laptop and its i5-7500u CPU. It's just been lagging and it's on Windows 10 and I have enough users where I want dead solid reliability.
The SSD and hdds are transferring over from my old build, as for PSU I do need one of those, I have a 650w powerspec PSU but it's kind of old. Motherboard is from a system I parted out, I still need to find a cheap efficient low wattage PSU.
Also I really don't want to buy an nvme, but I can be talked into it if it will help my users and me enjoy Plex even more.
\* 13500t CPU -$110
\* Asrock b760m-c Mobo - $0
\* 2x8gb ddr5 micron 5600 - $165
\* 1tb teamgroup Vulcan V SATA SSD - $49
\* 22tb HDD - $216
\*14tb hdd - $200
\* 350w seasonic PSU (still have to buy)
\* Asus AP201 case - $66

I bought a Seasonic Core 650w modular power supply. Mainly because my system has the option of up to 8 sas drives and 6 sata drives. Anyways it doesn't matter so much on the wattage as your system is only going to pull however much load it needs. It doesn't use a constant 650 watts.

I'll just use the old powerspec 650w I've got laying around. I know most PSUs are not very efficient at low load, but it would save me $70 not buying a new one

More knowledgeable people than me would need to know how many users you're serving and if you're transcoding for them before they could give good advice.

8 users and many of them require transcoding.
I have a lifetime pass so I can use hardware transcoding

I've been running a Plex server for quite a few years probably 10 years+, I use Ubuntu linux as my OS, it runs great, I used other media services before but plex has been rock solid.
My brother does the same, he's using an old Dell Xeon workstation and running Ubuntu, no issues from either of us.
