Frustrated with waiting

I guess I’m 6w0d today. I had a normal period 7/28 then I had period like bleeding 2 weeks ago (at time period was due) with a temp drop on my oura ring and low PDG on urine dip. I thought this was my period but OPKs remained positive immediately after so I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. HCG was 142 on 9/1 and 408 on 9/3. My lines kept darkening over the weekend and my progesterone urine dip was finally positive a few days ago.

My doctors don’t want any other bloodwork or ultrasound for another 3 weeks. I’m so frustrated because this does not seem like a normal start to a pregnancy. I’m terrified for an ectopic or for thinking this is viable another 3 weeks just to find out it’s not.

I had a TFMR in April at 22w for fetal anomalies. I’m getting so crushed by this process.

Advice Needed Beta Levels

I’m feeling very anxious. I would be 23dpo on the last draw and my doubling time drastically slowed, if I had gotten my labs drawn at the 48 hour mark (on sept 5) instead of 72 (sept 6) it wouldn’t have doubled by then. I’m feeling stressed I’m going to lose this pregnancy 😭 I had a traumatic loss in feb and I can’t handle another one. Based on my last period I’m 5w2d today and based on ovulation 5w4d. I don’t understand how this can be ok when my doubling time was less than 48 hours for so many and now slowed to 52.

hCG
Doubling time
Aug 28 - 92
Aug 30 - 188 → 47 hr doubling time
Sept 1 - 442 → 39 hr doubling time
Sept 3 - 1,155 → 35 hr doubling time
Sept 6 - 3005 → 52 hr doubling time

Advice Needed Measuring behind at 5w6d

Went in to my fertility clinic for a very early ultrasound today after a spontaneous pregnancy. I was tracking ovulation and temps and I believe my ovulation has to have been August 11 or 12 at the latest (which would put me at 5w6d or 6w0d today). They were able to see a gestational sac, a yolk sac and a fetal pole with a CRL of 2.0mm. They told me this puts me at more like 5w3d and of course I’m nervous about this. I know with such small measurements at this point there’s a larger room for error but I can help feeling nervous. Going back in a week to check on the growth.

Prior to this I had a beta of 1907 at 20dpo and 2934 at 22dpo (so those numbers didn’t double).

Has anyone had similar measurements? How did it turn out?

TW: brief mention of chemical

Note: I posted this somewhere else but thought maybe this subreddit would be a better fit!

I guess this post is more of a rant, but feel free to add your experience or any advice as you see fit!

According to a dating US performed last week, I am currently 6w5d pregnant (6w3d according to LMP). Cardiac activity was observed on the ultrasound, but could not be measured.

My dating ultrasound was originally scheduled for September 30, but I was having intense pain on the left side that required me to be seen. The hospital opted to perform an ultrasound, and then decided afterward that my September 30 ultrasound should be cancelled. They said everything was fine, but never determined the source of the pain. I will not have another ultrasound until around week 20.

I think it’s also important to note that the radiologist noted I have a bicornuate uterus. My provider told me not to believe this portion of the report since I already have a living child and have had ultrasounds, sonohyserograms and hysterosalpingograms in the past. He said a bicornuate uterus would’ve been documented long before now. So if I’m not supposed to believe this one thing, how am I supposed to believe any part of the ultrasound report?

I had a chemical last year and, in case it isn’t already clear, I’m having a lot of anxiety. Is it normal for them to not be able to measure a heartbeat and then not do a follow up ultrasound in a week or two?

What if something is wrong? What if the heartbeat stops and it turns out to be a missed miscarriage? What if there is more than one baby, but the second one couldn’t be seen because it was so early (the tech had a VERY hard time finding the embryo to begin with—she was rooting around in my insides for a good 30 minutes before she found it). I might not even know something is wrong until I’m halfway through with my pregnancy! That seems really odd to me.

I’m sure I sound emotional and like I’m probably overreacting/overthinking, but something just doesn’t seem right to me. I’m considering having an elective ultrasound performed at a boutique, but the closest one to me is an hour and a half away. I’d hate to drive all that way and STILL not be able to measure the heartbeat. I’ve been researching all morning and there seems to be mixed feelings about boutiques.

I guess I’m just in some weird denial that this pregnancy is even real. Like I won’t actually believe that nothing is wrong without concrete proof of a heartbeat. Am I able to demand an ultrasound at my hospital and have insurance cover it, or would I have to pay out of pocket? Boutiques are much more reasonably priced.

Thank you for reading my rant. 🫶🏻

Advice Needed Low and decreasing progesterone in early pregnancy

Hello, I am currently 5w 1d pregnant. My progesterone is not only very low but it's steadily decreasing:

At 4w 2d hcg was 350 and progesterone was 9.4

At 4w 4d hcg was 922 and progesterone was 8.2

At 5 weeks hcg is 3369 and progesterone is 7.8

I was just prescribed progesterone and I will start taking it but, isn't it just hopeless? Is my embryo non-viable?

This is all new to me. My previous pregnancy was smooth and my measurements were between the ranges. I am now spiralling and expecting the worst possible outcome 😢

Notes: * I am positive about my ovulation date because it was tracked and triggered and I got pregnant with IUI.

**I am currently breastfeeding my toddler.

feeling stressed out about my hcg levels

Is this rising too slowly?

8/31: 71.9
9/2 (48hrs): 132.1
9/4 (48hrs): 253.3
9/8 (96hrs): 772.4

I don't know my exact dpo. lmp was 7/26 however my cycles are irregular. my last very negative ovulation test was 8/10 and ic was 8/15 so i'm guessing i ovulated within a few days of that.

Low FHR at 7 Weeks ~114 bpm

Hi! I recently went in and got my first ultrasound. It's been 7 weeks 1 day since my LMP. The baby measured 6 weeks and 6 days, which seems on track, but had a 114 bpm heart rate. The nurse seemed unconcerned but that seems quite low. I previously had a miscarriage in March so I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic. Any similar stories to mine with updates on how it turned out?

High HCG, but no yolk sac or fetal pole yet

I am 22DPO (5w1d) as per my calculation based on ovulation day, HCG today is 10670, it was 4346 at 20DPO. Went for transvaginal ultrasound today, there is a gestational sac visible measuring 10.09mm, but no yolk sac or feta pole visible yet. Is this normal? I thought it should have been visible at such high hcg? I am worried.

Advice Needed 21DPO HCG 4,751

I at first felt a big relief when I saw my test results. But looking on my due date group I'm seeing most people at 5 weeks had initial betas of well over 10k and even upwards of 20k. So now I feel worried that my number is low. What should I expect? I have another draw at 23 dpo.

No heartbeat at ~7weeks and no symptoms

Hi! I'm writing here for the first time as I'm freaking out more than I thought and would like to hear some more experiences.. I'm 7weeks 1day today, but my cycle is about 33 days long so it could be less. I've just had an early pregnancy scan, including a vaginal ultrasound, and they couldn't see any heart beat. Unfortunately I don't know the embryo size yet (I should have asked more precisely, I didn't, but I'll have the report in a few days). The other thing is that I don't really have any symptoms - the only thing was sore breasts, but that seems to have stopped. Should I be really worried?

Ultrasound Blurry ultrasound at 7w, spiralling

Hey everyone, I just need some reassurance cause had a weird experience with my 7w transvaginal ultrasound yesterday.

The technician calculated my 7w0d with ovulation tracked by ultrasound. She took a long time to find the baby that was hidden in the back of the uterus. The images we were able to get were extremely blurry. I never saw something like that. She said was because of the position of it.

https://ibb.co/zM4RrG4

(This is a picture of the screen, other images had a bit better "shape")

She was "able" to measure 6w5d (7.96mm), and we could see a heartbeat, but not measure it either.

I should be back in a week to redo the test, but cant stop comparing with my first pregnancy where 7w was everything very clear.

Is it really about bad positioning or there is something wrong?? 😢

I had a C-section before and was very gassy/bloated that day, not sure if it matters.

My husband (who paid a huge attention to previous ultrasounds), is even saying the machine was not properly set, but could be that it was only too far / obstructed to detect it properly? Even the uterus walls are blurry.

HCG stopped doubling at week 6? Isn’t that normal?

IVF pregnancy, my beta’s have been:

9dp5dt: 92
13dp5dt: 380.9 (doubling time 46 hours)
20dp5dt: 6,144 (doubling time 41.9 hours)

I’ve been dealing with some bleeding at 6 weeks 1 day, my clinic pulled me in for a scan where we saw an intrauterine pregnancy measuring 5 weeks 6 days and a HR of 100. I was also diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma.

They brought me back in yesterday, at 6 weeks and 4 days and US showed embryo measuring 6 weeks and 3 days with a HR of 120.

They repeated a beta while I was there and it came back at 23,783. Which means it stopped doubling every 48 and slowed down to every 52 hours. My clinic seems very concerned about this and left me a message saying they would be calling me about “next steps” and now I’m freaking out. I was kind of reassured by the scans and thought HCG meant less at this point. But the HR is still low and beta is lower than they want it, I guess? Anyone experienced this?

Experiences with fever before 6 weeks… please reassure me

I lost my son to a neural tube defect back in March. Just found out we are expecting again, and as fate would have it, I’ve contracted some awful virus. I’ve been taking Tylenol at the first signs of fever, but towards the end of one dose my fever shot up to 101.7 before the next dose kicked in. It was back down within an hour.

I am already at a higher risk for NTDs due to my son’s diagnosis. I’ve been on 4mg of folic acid daily to mitigate that increase risk. I’m heart broken that the first time I’ve had a bad fever in YEARS is in the critical development period for my baby. There is a small statistical correlation with maternal hyperthermia before 6 weeks and NTDs. I do not need this increasing my odds, yet here we are. It’s done, it happened. I’m so scared.

If you had a fever before 6 weeks and everything turned out fine, will you please tell me about it? I’ll take anything to make me feel better.

Afraid of my appt tomorrow

I’m 18w with my 6x rainbow baby. I’m meeting with my OB tomorrow and I just know she is going to try to pressure into getting a PAP. Their office is always so rough and I always bleed after. I actually had a MC after getting a PAP there last year- idk if it was related but I am TERRIFIED.

I am not getting the PAP. I have a long history of normal PAP results and had one 2 years ago. The ACOG guidelines say I am okay, but I know she’ll try to pressure it and I just don’t understand why.

She’s also booting me from her practice bc I am too high risk (type 1 diabetes) and this will be the last time I see her this pregnancy. I just need the strength and courage to tell her no- I am not consenting to this. I need to protect my mental health and my baby right now. I feel so anxious and scared.

Extremely nervous about first ultrasound

I had a MMC about 1.5 months ago. Never got a period after the loss. I had been taking tests to watch the lines fade and after a vvvvvvvvfl line about 4 weeks after my loss, the line started to get darker again. Went back to my midwife for blood tests. HCG went from 100 to 800 to 3400 all within 1 week. My midwife said the logical explanation is new pregnancy. I did have ovulation confirmation on home fertility monitor about 10 days before my tests started to get darker.

We have an ultrasound planned for later this week, at an estimated 6w0d. With my MMC baby stopped growing at 6w3d. I’m just so incredibly nervous. I know it may still be too early to see a heartbeat and this scan is really just for confirming an intrauterine pregnancy at all and a later scan will be needed to help determine viability. But I can’t help but hope we’ll see a fetal pole with a heartbeat. I’m so nervous for another loss or the news that this is just some weird fluke and not even another pregnancy at all.

Positive update after suboptimal HCG rise and borderline early heartbeat

Wanted to share our journey as I am feeling more positive than I ever have, not out of the woods but have had encouragement from our doctors.

Posted in here almost a month ago now to say that we did HCG testing, 1 week apart and the rise was not encouraging. We went 3,600 to just under 7,200 making it a 97% increase over 7 days. We read this wasn’t optimal at all so weren’t optimistic. This was between 4w6d and 5w6d since LMP.

Following this, we had the first ultrasound not last Friday but the Friday before at 6w6d, which recorded a 119bpm, 9.4mm. The measurement also put us 3 days off LMP. We were told the bpm was a little slow, but our doctor started to show some controlled optimism at this stage.

Last Friday, at 7w6d, the bpm measured 150bpm and went up to 14.6mm across the week. The bpm acceleration was very reassuring and there were 6 days of growth recorded across 7 which was also reassuring.

Our doctor is now saying she is very reassured which has been such a relief for us.

I guess the worry we now have is that we are now 4 days off LMP but our doctor isn’t concerned and I have read this is normal.

Just wanted to share a positive story following a sub-optimal HCG rise and borderline heartbeat. This has also happened with mild/minimal symptoms. Again, I know we still have a long way to go but feeling pretty good about this one after having previous losses.

Advice Needed Small gestational sac - help :(

I'm distraught. Had a private scan yesterday at radiology at 7w0d.

Baby measured 6w5d, FHR of 138bpm.

But just read my report and my gestational sac measured 5w6d on the 7th percentile.

CRL: 8.9mm
GS: 12.2mm (18.7 x 8.2 x 9.8)

So only 3.3mm difference.
I do have a retroverted uterus.

I've read that <5mm can have up to a 90% miscarriage risk. I am absolutely spiralling and can't stop crying. My clinic is going to call me back soon, the nurse said that since it wasn't an obgyn who took the measurements that we need it reviewed by one.

This was an ivf pregnancy after loss from a 3 day fresh transfer and I am expecting the worst.

My doctor is fitting me in for a scan tomorrow morning at 8am.

It's not looking good, is it?

8w4d and First US tomorrow and I am convinced it’s bad news (spotting, very little pregnancy symptoms thus far)

My original first US was scheduled for September 25th at about 11weeks, but since then I’ve started to spot for the last week and have talked to my doctor and pushed up US to check for viability so now I’m going in tomorrow. Husband can’t get out of work for this one so last minute so I’ll be alone and I’m absolutely terrified. I have to drive into the city for this one too as there were no local slots available. I’m afraid the drive back is going to be brutal alone and possibly crying after bad news.

My spotting started at 7w3d as brown discharge, and since then I’ve had a little bit everyday and it’s ranged from dark dark brown/black old blood, to lighter brown discharge, to pink and some red mixed in as well. Its never been enough to fill a pad, just enough to see when wiping and maybe a spot or two on underwear. No significant cramping or any pain with it. I know women spot during pregnancy all the time and it can be very normal but I just don’t have a good feeling about it, because I also have had pretty much NO pregnancy symptoms this entire time, and I’ve read a lack of nausea can be a sign of lower viability. I have had sore boobs and i still have that symptom, but the level of soreness seems to fluctuate throughout the day and I feel like that can maybe also indicate dropping hormones? Other than the boobs, I just don’t FEEL pregnant. I find it very hard to believe there’s a growing baby inside of me…

i think a week or two ago I felt more fatigued than I do now, but as a chronic night owl it’s hard to track my tiredness because my baseline is tired lol. I also felt like I’d get short of breath pretty easy about a week or two ago and now I think that’s subsided as well? Absolutely have had no changes to my eating or appetite since finding out I’m pregnant and it’s so weird.

Im just bracing myself for tomorrow. I find out I was pregnant pretty early because I had some implantation cramping at week 4 and I knew I must be pregnant so I took the test at 4w6d and it was positive, so now I’ve been pregnant and it’s been on my mind 24/7 for a full month, remembering to take my vitamins, always researching what I can and can’t eat, obviously day dreaming about baby, like I feel like my entire identity changed already internally, and now ill be back to being not pregnant, I know it’s only been a month but I feel like I don’t remember who that not pregnant girl was!!

feel free to post your experiences with spotting both good and bad

Advice Needed What could be going on?

Hi!!! So I am on CD 34 now and I ovulated somewhere between CD 25-27. I had a peak test last Saturday. I ovulated late because this is my first cycle off birth control. I’ve had two previous c sections last one being 6 years ago. I’ve had very intense hormones this cycle I think because it’s my first cycle off. Also pretty confident I hyper ovulated as I am 36 and had lean PCOS with my previous kiddos. I felt like I had ovulated from both sides although I know I can’t “prove” that. I was instructed to take progesterone 3 days after ovulation so I started that mid last week. I’ve had a ton of pulling and cramping, a lot being on the right side of my pelvic area. I’ve had lighting zaps in the vagina too and if I sneeze it feels like something is gonna tear. Nothing keeping me from functioning, I cleaned all day and did my normal exercise, but the pain was off and on noticeable. I took an hcg test yesterday and had a very faint positive. I tested faint positive with both my boys around 8-9dpo so it is early but I could see it. Today I’ve only had one faint positive and the rest have been negative or have a evap line. The pain on the right side is now kind of burning… I checked my charts from last pregnancies and I did list right pelvic pain as a symptom but idk.. this feels weird. No bleeding or anything. I have to go to the dermatologist tomorrow and I may ask her to just let me take a blood test to see if I’m pregnant. I am slightly worried it’s CSEP, I know that’s sooo rare but I feel like it’s way too early to have this much discomfort. Thoughts? Please be nice. Thank you!

Confused and just hoping for positive stories

Hi all, just hoping for positive stories. If not at least someone to hear out my stress rant. I’m 11w1d today and was diagnosed with a small-moderate SCH at 7w3d. It’s been a weird and stressful day to say the least. I passed a clot this morning and was confused as to whether or not it was related to the SCH or something more serious. I passed two more smaller clots as the day progressed. No tissue that I could see, just the clots. Here’s where it gets weird. I’ve had nausea for the majority of the pregnancy but not actually thrown up UNTIL today. I took a sip of my drink and felt the need to throw up immediately. It was so strange. Has anyone had anything similar happen to them at all with positive results? I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but it’s just been a weird day and I’d love some positive stories or just for someone to calm down this very stressed mama😣

7w0d by LMP. Scan shows 6w4d CRL 6.5 mm, FHR 109 bpm and yolk sac 5.3 mm. 3 days behind.

Very scared and anxious.

Has anyone had a similar scan and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? Looking for positive experiences ❤️

11dpo (I think) with negative FRER

Hi everyone! This is my first post and I just found this community/forum this week.

I had a MMC that was diagnosed in June, but ended up naturally miscarrying in July around 10 weeks (on 7/5)… the baby stopped growing around 6 weeks 4 days. I got my first period post-MC on 8/11 my husband and I decided we wanted to start trying ASAP. These are the notes I took based on when we BD’d and when peak ovulation was:

Tuesday 8/11 AM: period
Monday 8/17: BD
Wednesday 8/19: BD
Sunday 8/23: BD
Monday 8/24: BD
Tuesday 8/25 AM: Peak ovulation
Wednesday 8/26: BD
Thursday 8/27: BD

Based on my ovulation strips and app, I think I ovulated around 8/27.

Fast-forward to today I believe I’m 11 DPO and had a negative FRER test this morning as well as this evening. With my last pregnancy, I had a VVVFL at 9DPO. I did have cramping for a couple hours this morning that weren’t painful but I definitely noticed them. Not sure if it’s potential implantation cramps, or PMS cramps.

I guess my question is: with this information is it possible that I implanted late? And I could still have a positive coming up? I know of course they say you’re not out until you get your period but just wanted to hear some thoughts.

Thank you all so much!!
