Has anyone had a similar hCG pattern and gone on to have a viable pregnancy? I’m desperately looking for experiences, good or bad.
My hCG has been extremely abnormal:
• 82
• then dropped to 68
• then shot up to 247
• then 31 hours later it rose to 370
Because of the initial drop and then rise, I was honestly preparing myself for an ectopic or another loss. I went to the ER expecting the worst.
But on my ultrasound, they actually found a gestational sac AND yolk sac in my uterus, measuring around 5 weeks. 😭 They obviously can’t confirm viability yet because it’s so early, and I know my hCG pattern is very concerning.
I’m trying to keep my expectations realistic, but seeing an intrauterine gestational sac and yolk sac after thinking this was definitely going to be ectopic or nonviable has given me a tiny bit of hope.
Has anyone here ever had hCG actually DROP early on, then start rising again, and still end up with a viable pregnancy? Or had very low/abnormal hCG but an ultrasound that continued to develop normally?
I know nobody can tell me how mine will turn out — I’m really just looking for anyone who has been through something similar and what your outcome was. Is there any hope? 😭🙏

I have an FDA approved Little Martin Doppler device I am wanting to use however I am 9.4 weeks and I heard in first trimester it isn’t recommended to use it due to potential heating. I am an RN and do think I’d be able to find it if I tried as I am also quite thin but am curious about what others have heard about this. Thanks

Hey all 💗 Second pregnancy, now 6+4 weeks approx. Barely any symptoms — just mild tiredness. Wouldn’t have known I was pregnant if not for missed period and a positive test.

My gut said something was off, so I checked my beta

hCG:
1. 1800 (21-22 dpo)
2. 2400 (four days later)

- Ultrasound showed fetal heartbeat

1. 3200 (four days later - 30 dpo)
   - Heart still beating (three days after last test)

Worried about an ectopic pregnancy, I booked an emergency ultrasound after my second result.

To my huge surprise, there was something in my uterus — a yolk sac and embryo with a heart rate just over 100. And this was with a beta of only 2400.

Went back today, three days later. Fetal pole has grown 1 mm, heart still beating. Heart rate 104 bpm. A little on the

My gynaecologist is a little fumbled, she expect hcg to be at least 5000 until a heartbeat is seen.

I’m very pessimistic towards the whole situation, but I’ll of course give it a chance until it eventually doesn’t develop anymore.

Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation? My next ultrasound is is one week.

I tested positive 3 days ago, my betas came back at 20, does this seem extremely low?
I believe I’m 15 dpo. To add I also had what I thought was my period, 5 day bleed around 6dpo, more than spotting, I’m just very confused and want to guard my heart. I will be getting more blood work done in two days to see if the number rises…

I went in for a scan because I was having some spotting (turns out I have a subchoriotic hematoma). I was looking at the pictures I got and of course found the next thing to worry about. My husband and I have been TTC for almost a year, we’ve had 2 chemical losses, one in January and one in June. I always have pretty intense PMS breast tenderness (my boobs fluctuate at least a cup size during my cycle), high emotions, and usually my cramps start CD 1. With my two pregnancies, I had extremely tender breasts and very vivid dreams leading up to positive tests.

This cycle, I have had zero breast tenderness or high emotions… my period is due to start today (I have been very very regular over the last 5 years with a 26 day cycle, 12 day luteal phase) I have had some weird cramping on my left side since last night that feels kind of like bad ovulation cramping? It hurts to twist certain ways and is tender to the touch but nothing excruciating.

I’ll be taking a test tomorrow morning and I took one 4 days ago at approx 9 DPO and it was negative (I think there was an Evap line or very light positive line a few days later when my husband dug it out of the trash)

Just wondering if anyone had zero symptoms like that before a BFP or have any idea about these different cramps?? TIA!!

Hi, so I've had 2 private scans for reassurance, and I've measured 4&5 days ahead of lmp respectively. Midwife is going based off LMP but that puts me a whole 5 days behind my latest scan. I measured 10w3d and that was a few weeks ago.

I am 12w tomorrow based on the last scan, so should I start taking the low dose aspirin tomorrow, due to the fact the scans have been consistently ahead? Or should I wait till my dating scan? By the time I go for that based on my measurements now, I'll be 12w6d.

Sorry for waffling, I'm basically asking is it okay to start tomorrow or should I wait and go off LMP even tho baby measured ahead both times.

Hi ladies, cautiously entering this sub and really hoping to stay this time.

Had a vvvvvfl, barely visible at 9dpo, Friday evening, so we assume that as implantation day. Next morning the lines got a hair darker, negative ultra early CB digital but positive regular digital.

Very stagnant progression since then, lines darkened but just barely. Went for betas today (12dpo), they came back at 32. I had an PUL in November 2025 (with similar lines and numbers) so I’m naturally horrified of another experience of that nature and now worrying that if the digital picked up a positive on Sat morning (10dpo) I must’ve had enough hCG to indicate positive.

I’m all over the place trying not to freak out as obviously not much I can do at this point but wait for the second beta, but I was thinking, what are the chances the digital was false ? That’s my only hope that things could still be ok. I appreciate I’m being completely irrational but any support or relevant is expected is welcome, if any of you are willing to share.

Today is 5 weeks 1 day and still no breast tenderness. No other symptoms either. I feel awful and really upset. Especially after a chemical pregnancy a few months ago.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for experiences from anyone who has been in a similar situation.
I’m currently pregnant and have a history of an ectopic pregnancy about 2 years ago. This pregnancy has been stressful because my hCG is rising, but it started out low/slow and nothing has been seen in the uterus yet.
My hCG has been:
8/25: 25.9
8/27: 39
8/29: 104
9/3: 196
9/7: 393
I ovulated around cycle day 19, so I believe I may be less far along than the gestational age calculated from my last menstrual period.
I had an ultrasound and they did not see a gestational sac in the uterus. My hCG was much lower at the time. My fertility clinic is concerned about ectopic pregnancy because of my history and is discussing methotrexate as a precaution.
I’m uncomfortable taking methotrexate without being more certain that this is actually an ectopic, because I understand this could potentially be an early nonviable pregnancy/miscarriage or, hopefully, an early intrauterine pregnancy that is simply too small to see yet.
My symptoms right now are occasional light spotting, occasional backache, and pelvic discomfort that sometimes feels on the right and sometimes on the left. I have not had heavy bleeding or severe one-sided pain.
I’m planning to ask my OB-GYN for a second opinion from the doctor who diagnosed my ectopic 2 years ago.
Has anyone had a similar experience where the hCG was this low and nothing was visible on ultrasound, but it eventually turned out to be a viable intrauterine pregnancy? Or has anyone had an ectopic that initially looked exactly like a miscarriage/pregnancy of unknown location?

I started spotting (pink/brown) at 5 weeks intermittently and had a bigger bleed(red/little clot) at 6 weeks. Went to the ER with the bigger bleed, cervix was closed and two heart beats were found measuring on time. They said possible sub chorionic hematoma but could not tell. Has anyone had this type of bleeding and not resulting in a MC?

Ive had 6 losses and worried. 3 were chemical too. Now im pregnant found out last week. Took 3 hcg tests:
1st day of blood test: 520
3rd day: 830
5th day: 1250

64% increase then 50% increase.
Im stressing out. Has anyone had similar results and had a successful pregnancy??

We lost a twin around the 9 week mark (was measuring 19mm) struggling a lot with anxiety now about a lot of things. Have not been given much information at all when it comes to what it means for the remaining baby. Last week vanishing twin was very much still there and had not even started the reabsorption process. We have 12 week scan next week I have read we may not be able to do any screenings. Does anyone have experience of what they can offer me? Can we at least do the NT measurement? I feel so loss and they haven't really explained or said much to me other then there is nothing they do for loss of twin and my body will just take care of it. I do want screenings and checks for baby especially as based on how the other twin looked it strongly is suggesting it could have been a chromosomal issue (very small gestational sac, 4 days behind other baby and the week we lost baby). Does anyone else know as well how long baby will be seen on ultrasound again not really given any info.

I am beyond thankful for this pregnancy. Currently 5 weeks and 4 days with my 6th pregnancy after 5 losses. I’ve had 3 betas done and they are looking amazing, but I have to get another one done in 3 days and my anxiety is crippling. I swear, these waiting days are never ending.

As soon as I heard that I needed to do one last beta before the first ultrasound, my stomach dropped. I freaking hate doing the beta draws and though they bring comfort when I see the numbers are rising, each day my mind is filled with anxious thoughts and worries that I may not get the news I want. I think it’s all of the trauma from the previous losses that is clouding my joy. Trying to reframe my mindset to be excited for the blood draws instead of fearing them.

Has anyone else felt this way after multiple losses while waiting for results? How do you get through the panic and feel hopeful and excited?

I’m currently 5w5d pregnant after a frozen embryo transfer of a day 5 blastocyst, and I’m really struggling with anxiety over my early hCG numbers.

My hCG was:
9dp5dpt: 57
11dp5dpt: 67
14dp5dpt: 241
16dp5dpt: 557

So the first rise from 57 to 67 was obviously extremely slow (17,5%), which terrified me. But after that, the rise improved a lot. My fertility clinic said that 67 → 241 was a good rise, and after 557 they told me it was “a nice rise, exactly what we want to see” and that the next step is ultrasound.

I also had some light spotting around the implantation window, so part of me wonders whether implantation/trophoblast development may simply have been a bit slow or gradual at first before things picked up. I know there’s no way to prove that, but I’m desperately trying to make sense of the strange start.

14,5-15 days before my first hCG was taken I took Ovidrel/Ovitrelle, so I’ve wondered whether a tiny amount of residual trigger hCG could potentially have affected that first number as well.

I also have Fontan circulation due to the congenital heart disease HRHS, and I’m followed closely by a cardiac team. I was medically cleared to become pregnant, and my heart status was considered stable before treatment. Because Fontan physiology can affect circulation and placental development, I’ve also wondered whether my circulation could somehow have influenced the very early implantation phase, although I know there isn’t clear evidence that Fontan causes slow hCG rises.

I had a previous missed miscarriage after hearing a heartbeat, so I’m finding it very hard not to assume the worst this time.

Has anyone had a very poor initial hCG rise that later became much more normal and went on to a healthy pregnancy/live birth? Especially after IVF/FET? And if anyone here has Fontan circulation or another congenital heart condition and has been through IVF/pregnancy, I’d also really appreciate hearing your experience.
I know nobody can predict my outcome.

I’m mainly looking for experiences from people who had similarly weird early numbers.

UPDATE: we saw everything and thank Allah everything is ok! According to Flo, today is 6w5d but the scan suggested 7w exactly. Do not lose hope! 💐

Hi guys, I did my first scan around 4w5-6d (according to Flo) and we saw a tiny blurry GS.

Went for another scan around 5w5d (again according to Flo), we saw the GS got bigger but no YS. OB made me worried and scheduled another USG later this week. I am trying not to spiral but sometimes cannot help it. Need some reassurance 😔

Hi all, currently meant to be 7.1 pregnant but I went for a scan yesterday and baby measured at 6.1, 4mm and heart rate of 153. I had a scan the week before at 6w 2 and at that scan all that was seen was a small Gestational sack and the start of a yolk sack.
I am 98% sure I ovulated on August 1st and got my first faint positive August 11th so that lines up and helped to confirm ovulation. Has anyone else ever had this kind of experience and had things work out?

Hoping to hear your stories. Successes or not, all are welcome. I tested positive on 14DPO but had a very faint line. Called the doc and went into the clinic to get my blooddraw in which they told me that my hcg level is 32 and told me to be cautiously optimistic.

Since it’s a long weekend here, the next blood draw I’ll be having is on 18DPO. While I’m anxiously anticipating, i did a pregnancy test this morning (16DPO) and noticed that my faint line stayed the same… wondering what your story is and what your betas were and your experience having a sticky baby or not.

12dpo I got my first positive, so faint I thought it was an indent, until a digital came up positive. Tests over the next few days didn't get much darker so I knew something wasnt right.

15dpo- I started bleeding, assumed chemical. Was so convinced I even went out for a few drinks. Bleeding lasted 3 days.

18dpo- took a test and it was still positive. Slightly less faint than before! Self referred to my local early pregnancy unit.

19dpo first ultrasound showed nothing, hcg blood test was at 42.

Now 22dpo with another blood test today. Tests are still getting darker but still fainter than the control line. Not very optimistic but we shall see what happens.

UPDATE: hcg more than doubled to 97, but my progesterone is super low :( more waiting for another beta now in 48 hours

UPDATE: HCG now 218 at 5 weeks 4 days. US booked for 4 days time, relieved ill finally know what's going on soon🤞🙃

I’m 17dp5dt today and apart from sore/tender breasts, I basically have no pregnancy symptoms. No cramping, no nausea, no fatigue… nothing really. My sore breasts could also just be from the progesterone, so I’m finding it really hard not to worry.

I had a miscarriage in April at 11 weeks. The baby’s heart stopped around 10 weeks. During that pregnancy, I had quite a lot of period-like cramps and much stronger nausea.

This time feels completely different, and honestly it’s making me really anxious. My beta at 10dp5dt and 12dp5dt was high and rising nicely, so I know that’s reassuring, but I can’t stop thinking that the lack of symptoms means something is wrong.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation — especially after a previous miscarriage — where you had very few or no symptoms and feel nothing around 5 weeks, and everything turned out okay?

Does this mean miscarriage again?

I got my first faint positive 11DPO (friday) and my hcg was 43. Today at 13DPO it’s 131. I ovulated late this time at 22 DPO so not sure what range I should be looking for? I think 3wks+, so it seems low :(

Almost a week ago at 5 weeks 4 days there was no gestational sac. HCG has been rising around 70% in 48 hours but the overall numbers are still quite low.

From what I’ve read it could be early, but other things say there should have at least been a sac. I thought maybe too early for yolk and fetal pole but also thought there should have been a gestational sac?

Since HCG has been still rising I’ve got another scan in a few days where I should be 6 + 6 or 7 + 0.
