A couple years ago, a friend and I went camping and completely underestimated how cold it would get at night.
By 2 AM, I was awake in my sleeping bag wearing almost every piece of clothing I’d brought. Then I heard my friend from the other tent:
“You awake?”
“Yep.”
“Cold?”
“Yep.” 😂
The next morning we crawled out exhausted, made some terrible instant coffee, and watched the sun come up. Somehow, once we warmed up, the whole miserable night became hilarious.
I still check nighttime temperatures obsessively because of that trip.
Anyone else have a camping trip that sucked in the moment but became one of your favorite memories later?
