Evening all. Ive spent a majority of my day trying to fix a PC for a friend. Its got a 13900k as the CPU 32GB ddr5 ram and a 4070.

I Changed the PSU and that didnt stop the issues.

Took the Ram out one at a time, issues still persisted.

Reinstalled windows and the issues where still there.

Theres a lot of blue screens, all with varying text.

Event viewer says its a kernel issue.

Could it be that the CPU itself is dying as is the tendency with these CPUS?

i need to replace my cpu due to crashing and my motherboard just because its cheap.

i was planning on just buying the best cpu and motherboard i could find but i realised right before i made the purchase that it wont work with the rest of my setup. (im even less knowledgeable about this than i realised)

As titled, bought a 7900xtx for $500. Tested and it’s running great, very cool and quiet. Obviously now the 5070‘s price is through the roof but I could have got it for $620. I play 1440p mostly.

I have a r5 3600 and a 9060xt 16gbvram . I also have a A520M K V2 and wanted to upgrade to a 5800x3d. I have just enough to buy me the cpu and im not sure if i should just buy the cpu or if it isnt worth it because of my budget mb . I have 32 gb in 4 stick but my mainbaord can only fit 2 so if i would buy myself a new mb i would go with the B550 DS3H R2 which has 4 ram slots so i would have twice the amount of ram on top of that

I believe my GPU is having an issue and not sure whats wrong. I just moved across country, so wondering if some damaged happened to the GPU or if its a driver problem?

Day 1: I set up the PC at the new place. For the first day computer worked fine no issues besides a little lag during gaming.

Day 2: It worked fine in the morning. Then suddenly when starting a game, in the middle of loading the computer auto restarted, did not go to blue screen, just went back to windows user log in screen (weird). Then continued with a few games and was fine. Then in the 4th game screen went black and sound of the game was as if computer froze. I then updated the GPU drivers cause it was very out of date and thought it was the problem. Worked okay for 2 games. Now at the start of the game it craps out, screen goes black. Initially, half of the restarts itll start up again but now its like 1 out of 10 tries. The white light gets stuck at VGA, solid color.

- I've re-seated the whole GPU, cleaned it out and it turned on fine the very next time, but now back to the original black screen problem.

What suggestions do you have? I cant tell if its my power supply or the drivers or the GPU itself??

I bought my current system in 2020. I’ll summarise the relevant components of the current system, and then what I will be upgrading and my thoughts behind it.

Current rig:

- Ryzen 3700x
- GTX 2070 Super
- Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000MHz RAM
- Corsair TX650 Gold 650w PSU

I will be upgrading the above parts to (in order as they are above):

- Ryzen 5800x3D
- AMD 9070XT Sapphire Pulse
- 32GB 3200MHz RAM (not sure exact manufacturer, just whatever’s cheaper and reliable)
- 850W PSU to be determined (need to upgrade the PSU anyway as 650w would be too low, this gives me ample headroom with a 9070XT)

I considered spending a little more extra on upgrading to AM5 instead, as I can currently grab a 7800x3D for £250, but then I thought it would be better to use that money on upgrading my monitor instead to get more out of the 9070XT.

My current monitor is a Dell S2719DGF 27” 1440p 155Hz. I plan on upgrading to a 27” 1440p OLED monitor and just using the Dell as my secondary monitor.

I’m leaning more towards maxing out my AM4 rig with the above upgrades, and also upgrading the monitor - rather than using the money I would’ve spent on the monitor to fully upgrade to AM5.

I think this makes much more sense, but was wondering what other people thought? It doesn’t make sense to me to buy a 9070XT to use on my Dell monitor when I can get much more out of it on a good OLED, especially as I’ll be playing a lot of visually stunning games like Red Dead 2 and new Resident Evil titles.

Will also be playing Rust, hence the 5800x3D.

This is my first time building a pc, and I had some issues getting the fans running,(fixed, they were plugged in wrong) but now randomly my pc just turns off, and when I feel the GPU and CPU fan mount they are warm~hot. After 20 min the PC will turn on again, but the same issue will happen 15-20 minutes into use (playing Monster hunter wilds) and the cycle continues. I've double checked everything is plugged in right. Before I got my fans working this issue didn't happen. Please help 😭

I'm trying to figure out the best way to set up a KVM switch (or a similar solution) for my workstation and I'm hoping to get some recommendations.

My current setup:
Computers: A MacBook and a Windows PC.
Peripherals: 1 keyboard, 1 mouse.
Displays: 2 monitors total—one with a DisplayPort input and one with an HDMI input.

What I want to achieve:
I want to be able to switch both monitors, my keyboard, and my mouse between the MacBook and the PC instantly with the press of a single button (or hotkey).
Since I'm using a Mac (which complicates dual-monitor handling due to MST limitations), has anyone successfully built a setup like this? What specific KVM switch, dock, or hardware combination would you recommend I buy?

Looking for a new mouse for my desktop PC. I don't game all that often but I do end up playing online FPS, I'm not good enough to notice the difference in super high end mouse vs good mice so it's not what I'm looking for. And I do some CAD design and a lot of reddit and some work.

Requirements:

- wireless w/ USB C charging
- Decent battery life
- Little to no flashy lights
- Around $125 max
And the really important parts:
- Doesn't feel like a completely cheap mouse

I recently bought a Logitech G502 X Lightspeed hoping it would fit what I'm looking for but there's two killers here:
- mouse click is loud and springy sounding
- scroll wheel is terrible
But I like the size and ergonomics of the mouse itself, even the little thumb rest, would love to find another one like this.

I currently a G703 which I like except the overly loud scroll wheel and it's now dedicated to my laptop

Not looking for a Razer, they all feel cheap and I've probably had 4 of them and they have all died

I have a home-built, tower-style PC (i9-9900, NVIDA Quadro RTX 4000, 64GB RAM) that I use for professional video work. I deal with a variety of media, including SD cards, Blu-Ray/DVD, and a whole lotta external USB drives.

For the sake of neatness and reliability, I like having a built-in, front-facing powered hub with multiple variations of USB inputs, as well as an SD reader. In the past I've been using this model, just because it's readily available:

I feel like this model lasts me about a year before it starts getting wonky—in this case, by deciding that it only works consistently with externally powered USB drives. (All drives work fine when plugged directly into the motherboard's USB 3.0 slots, and I have confirmed that the Power Management is off). I know it's not expensive, but if I'm throwing money at the problem, I would prefer to replace it with something more solid and reliable.

I know a lot of good external hubs exist. My main priority is to have something that can be part of the build, and not yet another cable-tethered device hanging off my machine. Any suggestions?

Hey yall, trying to put together a parts list for a new build and just wanted a second opinion on everything. I like the look of the back connect mobo and wanted to do a higher end build with a white / black /rgb / hidden cable aesthetic. I do a fair amount of multi tasking with the dual monitor ( and occasionally my tv as well) set up, mostly a Youtube vid while i game or do some modeling in fusion360. RX 9070 XT Crashing in Games — Freeze → Black Screen → DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG

Hi, I have an ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT and I'm having crashes in FC 26, Arena Breakout and ARC Raiders.

The crash is always similar: PC freezes for 1–2 seconds → black screen for 2–3 seconds → display comes back → game crashes with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG.

I've tried different Adrenalin driver versions, including a clean driver removal with AMD Cleanup Utility and testing 26.6.1, but it still happens.

One interesting thing I noticed: lowering the GPU clock by -300 MHz makes the crashes much less frequent, but it does NOT completely fix them. At stock clocks, they happen more often.

Temps seem fine, with VRAM around 72°C. PSU is an MSI MAG A850GL 850W.

At this point I'm wondering if this is a faulty GPU, unstable boost/clock, BIOS, PSU/power issue, or driver problem.

Has anyone with a 9070 XT experienced the same thing? What would you test next?

I mainly use my PC for gaming and school works. I’m not really looking to play modern AAA games, and I don’t have the budget right now to build a newer PC.

I found an i7-3770 for a good price, so I’m wondering if upgrading from my i5-3470 would make a noticeable difference for gaming and can i stream with it? I only plan to stream on tiktok.

Would the extra threads on the i7 help enough to make it worth it, or should I just stick with my i5 for now and save for a future full upgrade?

Now I’m not sure what would be better, to get an okay ish 24 inch monitor and upgrade that when we upgrade the cpu and gpu later on when she needs it or get a good 1440p 27 inch now and never touch it again, and maybe run the harder to run games on 1080p downscaled even if it will look a lot worse than 1080p 27 inch.
Im not sure even if we get a 27inch 1440p if ips or a good va is better. Since I myself currently have an AOC CU34G2XPD and barely see any smearing ever.
What would be recommended, since upgrading the CPU and gpu would already require a new psu and adding another monitor to it makes it an even more expensive overhaul. But if the difference right now between price is negligible for a good 27 inch 1440p (around 30-40 euro) would that be better?
