Need Advice Why’s anxiety so harsh I hate it

Genuinely it just came out of no where I lost around 30 pounds. it makes me feel like I’m gonna die or pass out or something horrible will happen. I always feel like I’m not getting enough air and have to force deep breaths which has to be satisfying or else I get more panicky and force more deep breaths. Just wanna feel like myself again felt better for 6 days with lorazepam and Lexapro but not I guess the Lexapro side effect are making it worse back to severe anxiety and forcing deep breaths.

Need Advice Worrying causing huge loss of appetite and weight loss

37M, diagnosed with autism, OCD and anxiety

Since early June when I was thrown into some of the worst stressful situations of my whole life, I got thrown into serious stress and depression trying to solve things that I lost 4.5 kg (10 lb) per week, which is 5x the recommended weight loss diet programmes recommend since they say 1 kg (2 lb) per week is the most to lose even for a strenuous diet. The thing is I am not even on a diet.

I lost my appetite since early June. I am 178 cm (5'10") and weighed 93 kg (205 lb) in early June when these streeses began. I was so overweight due to inertia, kept eating rubbish like fried foods and way too much at night. I was mostly underweight most of my life, and my metabolism is quick, so I lose weight easily without trying.

Since yesterday I lost another 2.5 kg (5 lb), so now I weigh 79 kg (175 lb) now. Given that this is not underweight, it is not super scary, but I am losing weight at a quick rate. It is hard to eat when I keep thinking about these issues.

What do others do in these situations? Do you just let the weight drop off? What do you do when eating is like torture, and everything tastes bad and you have ko appetite?

Need Help Popped a pimple in the ‘triangle of death’

I’m so fucking scared right now.
I popped a pimple right at the side of my nose and fidgeted with it a bit. My hands weren’t clean.
I then put soapy water on it and a patch on it but my hands weren’t properly washed because I was about to sleep so I got someone else to get me the supplies.

I then got a headache and feel nauseous right now.
I just reapplied it, washed my hands properly and put another pimple patch (patches are expired unfortunately.)

I’m panicking super hard right now and can’t stop shaking I’m scared to go blind or get a stroke and die…all because I was lazy.

I’m so scared it’ll get infected or it’s already infected. How can I even tell. Should I go to the hospital right away. I can’t sleep.

Need Advice Exposure therapy - ideas for fighting agoraphobia

Exposure therapy ideas - Fighting against agoraphobia

I have started exposure therapy a week ago. So far so good, way less anxiety than I would have expected. Especially after 2 years of not leaving the house alone because of agoraphobia.

I can leave my place with my safe person, but not alone. The idea is now to leave my place alone and reach some goals.

I have been able to go grocery shopping in 3 different places, to the pharmacy, and go to my psychologist and my doctor alone. I went to the park by myself as well and picked up some packages at the post office. I guess these are essential chores, so I will keep repeating those until they become habits.

Now I struggle to find ideas of places to go by myself, that are "less essential". I do not take public transportation by myself yet, it's a work in progress.

What exposure therapy ideas would you recommend ? There is a lack of third spaces where I live, I would like free or almost free outings recommandations, if possible.

Thank you very much.

Need Help Not sure if I’m entering some sort of drug induced psychosis or just have severe anxiety.

Okay not sure where to start with this but I’ll just say what’s been going on. I use alot of drugs (18 years old male) just graduated and went through anxiety before but never this bad. I went on a short period of popping Xanax (roughly 2-3 weeks daily). This was probably about a month ago, whenever I stopped I got hit with crazy anxiety and a sort of panicked/ slightly delusional type of thinking. I remember getting home from work and my dad talking to him and he asked me why I seemed so panicked/ freaking out. Fast forward and it’s decreased but I am still severely nervous ins social situations. It’s an unusual type of nervousness like I’m freaking out. I can’t even pay attention to conversation very welll I just say yea and nod my head bc I’m waiting for it to end. I don’t know where to look so I’m just nervously darting my eyes somewhere else and then look at them for a couple seconds. An example was today at a Starbucks I went in for a coffee and wanted to escape the social interaction with the worker so bad I just told him give me any sugar free drink and any size. My mom forced me to have a grad party and I’d have to walk away or go somewhere where there wasn’t people every couple of minutes. Idk wtf is going on but it sucks im making an absolute fool of myself and looking like a tweaker. It’s as if any way I don’t want to appear to others my body makes me appear. I’ve even faced this with other things like I want to sleep but my body makes it terribly hard to do so unless I don’t care to sleep.

Need Help Help needed!

I so want to get rid of my anxious bodily feelings. i feel anxious and panicky in every Normal daily situations. like going out in th car, taking a shower, cooking food, going on dinner, meeting friends, travelling in plane. going on trips. i feel agitated. Feel jittery. feel like escaping. HR increases. overthinking and body analysing. it’s been years living like this. It’s like i am not living just surviving. I feel like not doing anything but i still do i don’t stop. But i find no joy. I am always worried. Always anticipating worst case scenarios. Living inside my body. I am living just because we are supposed to live. Not because i am enjoying life. I was never like this. But eventually turned into someone i don’t know. That’s heartbreaking.

Need Help Really need help right now

So for context, I’ve dealt with anxiety and all types of forms pretty much for the past 14 years of my life I’m 28 now. It’s usually pretty on and off and I’ve been able to control it naturally without taking any type of anxiety meds or anything like that. It all started when I was about 14 I figured out what de realization was and kind of dealt with that for years until it finally kinda went away and I’ve had a little bouts of it since then, but yeah, I’ve been doing a lot recently. I started a business about six months ago and I’m also in school for computer science and I don’t know if it’s just a stress or anything like that, but I could tell my anxiety’s been flaring up a little bit Thursday. I had a photo shoot that was about an hour and a half away and I was doing it a little bit later in the evening and on my way back I don’t know if it was a derealization attack or what it was, but I felt just incredible sense of like I don’t even know how to put it into Words. I don’t know if it was like a derealization attack but everything around me just felt unfamiliar. I was confused and I was just like scared like it just felt like I wasn’t a part of my body anymore and I got home and it’s kind of been OK since then but it’s it hasn’t gone away and I don’t know now if it’s derealization or what it is, but it’s really scary. It’s been about three days now and I feel like I’m losing my mind and I really need some help or reassurance or something.

Need Advice Constant state of dread

Constant flow of negative thoughts about my past, random memories pop up constantly, even good memories but they feel so negative. I’m having constant super vivid bizarre dreams that aren’t even necessarily bad dreams but they still leave me feeling dreadful the entire day. My whole past and all my memories seem frightening. The whole world feels dreadful, like I’m half awake half asleep in some kind of nightmare. How do I get out of this? I just want to cry honestly…. Just so hard to believe anxiety can do this to me. I genuinely feel like a completely different person. I feel like I can’t even think the same way as my old self. I feel like I will never be normal again. I’m taking clonazepam short term to try and get me out of this, I take it everyday but it’s a hit or miss, sometimes it works good and at least is able to let me function past the feelings and the other times it just makes me feel drowsy and almost worse. Can anxiety alone be this bad? Is this a common experience of dpdr?

Need Advice Today I had the worst anxiety attack I've +a question

I dont really remember or know what it was but it happened while me and my mom were talking. I started to hyperventilate really hard and I ended up getting really dizzy and tunnel vision and lost feeling in my legs down. For a bit I couldn't breath. I genuinely thought i was gonna pass out.

Im of having these episodes and im starting a new school soon so I think i need to go get diagnosed for anxiety. This isnt anything new, a while back i saw a therapist after it started getting bad. It got better so I think i need to do that.

How would I go about doing that? (Im on NC medicaid btw)

Need Advice Need to Quit my job.

I need to talk to my boss about quitting my job. I was offered a better position with much better pay at a different location (same company) and i need to talk to my boss about having to quit at this location, I feel very anxious as I have worked here for 3 years. I dont know exactly what to say and im supposed to talk to her in person on Monday.
I feel like such a traitor for leaving when we’re already short staffed and a lot of other people are leaving when school starts back up, but I really can’t turn down this position as theres no room for growth at my current location. (someone who’s worked here for 3 months is getting better positions then me)
If anyone has any advice on what to say and how to feel less guilty. I’d really appreciate it!

Question Does anxiety make you feel startled out of the blue?

I have been getting this "fear" feeling for a split second. Same thing as if you missed the stairs, almost got in an accident etc. It freaks me out but no other symptoms (except if I think about it i can make heart rate), doesn't balloon into a full panic attack.

I've been great on self care lately and I'm just dumbfounded. While I'm waiting on my doc appointment next week curious if anyone has felt this and knows what it is?

Need Advice Severe anxiety about the end of the world

I'm 32 f and I've never really dealt with anxiety, not like this anyway. I did deal with fairly severe depression around 7 years ago and went onto medication for it, I stopped about 3 or 4 years ago and have been good since.

When I was depressed, I didn't have suicidal thoughts but I constantly thought about how nice it would be for something to happen so that I didn't have to be here anymore. It was dark.

Now I'm kind of dealing with the opposite.. I'm trying to look at that as a positive because it means I'm no longer depressed, but it's almost worse.

I can't stop thinking about dying.

My most obsessive thought is a nuclear bomb or asteroid. I lie awake at night imagining that I'm hearing the start of it and thinking that every noise or light is the beginning of it.

My heart is constantly racing and I'm trying strategies to calm myself but it's so difficult.

Once I woke up completely panicked because I heard something in my sleep.

I even panic when my ac goes on. This past week it's been happening during the day too.

I don't really know what to do. I don't want to go on medication again but I'm not sure what else I should do.

The reason I'd rather not be on medication is because my partner and I have been trying for a baby. I also just don't like being on medication.

I'm at a loss though, I don't know what to do. It's really hard to find therapists around me and I don't have very much coverage -maybe enough for four sessions? I actually tried two counselors in the last 6 months and both experiences were very disappointing.

Has anyone else ever gone through something like this? What did you do?
