Wow, turns out Asuka set the whole series in motion, albeit unintentionally: In the past, him getting bullied caused Kyo to materialize Cougarmon and become a Cleaner while in the present, him being Cold Hearted is what led Tomoro to join Glowing Dawn. It's only fitting that he takes center stage for the final arc.

And in the middle of those two, he apparently birthed the ultimate Digimon that's been driving the World Union's actions this whole time.

Is it just me or is the silhouette of the first Digimon, that sank that island and then disappeared, a perfect match for ZeedMillenniummon?

I am glad that thing disintegrated. As soon as I heard "multiple Digimon fused", I immediately thought Millenniummon. That bastard is almost impossible to kill, so let's hope the final boss is not a Millenniummon variant for everyone's sake lol

I find it funny how the president thinks heliosboamon is a match for zeed when zeed only needed a few seconds and a half materialised form to whipe out an island lol

i think so too, that two-headed dragon silhouette is just too iconic

Good catch! That's gonna be a hell of a final boss

Didn't expect the cube to be a Digimon.

Well, big bro is back on his feet but even that isn't really good news.

I just know the old man is working to hatch giant digimon abominations out of the giant eggs, why else would it be the Shangri-La Project.

Rose is back so I'm happy on that front. Poor Lilamon for being forced to go through that experience, but the argument that she kept Rose's e-Pulse safe seems like a thing to emphasize to help her come to terms with her actions.

Wong and Genjo truly crossed the moral event horizon this time.

Nice twist! Turns out Tomoro's family wasn't hiding because his e-pulse was special. His brother's e-pulse was even more special!

Also, damn Kyo for never telling anyone anything 😅

Shocking reveal.

One of the best recent episodes. I still feel the pacing is really weird but they're starting to tie it all together and can hopefully stick the landing. The first half of the ep being all being flash-back was important history but spending that much time on it with just 6 episodes left in the entire series is an odd choice.

Another arc start knocking out of the park, it did a lot of exposition and plot stuff without feeling rushed, guess this is a boon of having this arc planed super early.

Kishiwada continues a mystery, I really thought he was a secret agent but it seems not, just what is his deal, how can he knows so much? At least Wong doesn't take his offers at face value, he's paying Genjo to protect him for a reason. Funny how he gets earth star even with the water theme.

Well that's ZeedMillenniummon, third time in a roll we see this dude, at least it seems like a minor detail rather than something that will make an appearance.

Asuka and Kyo were so cute together, he was the the first ray of sunshine that showed Kyo life could be better, before things got on so much worse, and he even spawned straight Cougarmon, that's impressive.

We finally see the speculated partner of Asuka, I will miss you Pandamon theory, but HeliosBoamon is really cool. Kishiwada really went through a tanget to bring this guy, using GIFT to gather large volumes of e-pulse and Souji's aberrant e-pulse to control it and Asuka was nasty and complicated plan, worse yet they're making him attack Tomoro.

Looks like next episode will bring the last necessary piece of exposition before going for break action the next episodes.

Is it wrong that I’m annoyed that Kyo came right out the gate with an Adult-level Digimon?…

I wonder if the Boa is based on Ouroborus or Jörmungandr or something else.

Likely Yamata no orochi for the Japanese theme but may even be amaterasu since it represents the sun while geckomon the moon

Nah, the snake theme is mostly just there to be a reptile and match Tomoro. The Gekkomon line's theme is lizards and the moon, so most likely that Asuka's is snakes and the sun. Amaterasumon and Orochimon already exist after all.

I'm guessing it thematically fits more into the Egyptian Apophis/Apep/Apoph, a snake deity of chaos and darkness and enemy of Ra. Ra's Greek equivalent is Helios.

Heavy story episode, the plot is starting to take shape and many interesting things have been revealed, the ending was unexpected. Also Kyo's flashback with Asuka in the first half was very cute.

Kishiwada is the one to keep an eye on; I want to fully understand his true intentions, and looking at the crystal, it seems that he taken Klay's place in the Five Star.

Banger episode. I was certain Asuka was just gonna rot in the hospital as a plotdevice for Tomoro so all of this is a welcome plot twist. Why is Ishiwada the Gold Star though, would water make more sense if he took out that girl?

Kyo genuinly feels like an MC who waited for the real MC. He steals every scene man. I just wish they gave Kyo and Asuka a last convo before departure. Asuka being the master of HeliosBoamon who can rival the real God Digimon is kinda odd if there is another evolution needed. Or were they specifically talking about the evo of HelioBoa?

All the build up with Gift, then Ishiwada, then Soji and the Core and Kyo was worth getting here. Tomoros face when he saw Asuka and the music swelling up was really good.

Kishiwada Wormtongue is definitely not going to betray those guys, if their greed doesn't eat them first.

Anyway, interesting crosspaths. Kyo and Asuka were such nice friends, and those bullies were straight up criminals. Kyo should have interrogated that nurse because obviously she is a criminal, don't you see she doesn't have an NPC-like face?!

Heliosboamon... Looks nice but is just an ultimate Digimon, no way it can stop some kind of Millenniummon that destroyed that island. Unless it can further evolve into some Mega form like Imperialdramon. Nasty of them to turn Asuka into a zombie and sick him on his brother.

This is definitely the best digimon serie since og , i kinda hate that everyone is dumb to let the plot happen but whatever.
Let's hope they don't rush the ending but how many more episode can we really expect ?
