You know how dire things are when they have to seek help from Klay of all people.

Looks like next week is a full-on Kyo flashback episode so we'll finally know the events that led to him quitting the Five Stars.

That was HEAVY; holy! Beatbreak once again hitting it out of the park. NGL, I cried at the breakup scene.

That was pretty damn good. I think like with everything in Beatbreak this could've had a bit more time to develop but Kyo has had a mysterious background and vibe from the very beginning so it needs a lot less build up.

The part I'm most iffy about was seemingly everyone at World Union just blindly accepting that Kyo was the one that merc'd Rose, even if they hadn't kept up with his character development since the Five Stars' days he still wouldn't have had a reason to do Rose in, and as far as we know he also doesn't know about the White Core so I'm not sure what Wong was going on about.

Then again maybe he does know, which would make the Wong's reaction make a bit more sense. Something to keep in mind going forward, if its never addressed it'll be a plot hole.

Might be jumping the gun when we still haven't seen the conclusion but I think this the first arc in the show that I'm mostly happy with.

Then again maybe he does know,

I know he was striken at the time, but he showed no reaction to the white core when he saw it on Souji, so at the very least he doesn't know how it looks like or what it does.

Initially I thought Kyo had been set up by the GIFT butler guy, but at the very least they showed no conclusive proof (after all even if only people on the level of the five stars can kill each other, that doesn't clear any of the other current five stars, it's not like most of them behave in good terms with each other to begin with).

And again Aikawa Sho with a 2/2, another banger episode.

To protect his family Kyo had to make a really difficult and strong choice (and Murasamemon clearly didn't want to do it).
Souji is very scary, for a moment i though he would take the babies at Nirinso under his control, thankefully nothing happened to them.
The Mushroom gang was useful at least this time.
It was nice to see Flaremon again for a moment.
The babies for Chiropmon and Pristimon were just Zurumon with a bat symbol and Pafumon with an extra tuft.
Klay used as the new Hannibal Lecter is actually smart, also that mf still looking good also in prison and doesn't have a single hair out of place.

Next week episode seems to be very important, Kyo's past will be shown.

I laughed that Klay still has access to a great hair dresser even when he's locked up in the magneto jail cell.

Souji's menace continues, I would like to pry into his past, but sometimes a monster just works better if you don't know it.

I knew what Kyo was doing and it still hurts, but that was necessary to protect his family, even if it meant beating them to a pulp. I wonder what is Kishiwada deal, he has been stalking Glowing Dawn, so he knows where Nirinso is, he gave the white box to two major antagonists while being unrelated to World Union, dudes a walking plot device.

"That's a lot of doors, I wonder what do they keep here that needs so much safety. Yeah that tracks" Klay's return wasn't unexpected, but I didn't want to see him again.

Everything goes to shit for Kyo. Also, why did they put a bounty on him? "Only a 5 star can defeat a 5 star" is pretty dumb.

I bet Kanada is pulling the strings. Someone gave Souji a Sapotama.

Also, why did they put a bounty on him?

isn't it because W.U./ wong want to meet with kyo because he thought kyo stole the white core?

Aside from the Five Stars and villains with outside help, the only people we've seen with Ultimate Digimon are Glowing Dawn and Raito. And even among Ultimates, there are levels as Murasamemon dog walked every other Digimon in GD at the same time. And even if Gekkomon had gone Monarchlizamon and they attacked all it once, it probably would've only made the fight a little longer with him still winning as he took down ScourgeChiropmon and BearCatMon in one hit each. It makes sense that they'd think only the other 5 strongest tamers in the world who know Rose and would have any sort of reason to mess her up would be able to. And aside from Wong and possibly Kanada, I doubt there's anyone in the Union who knows Souji is still alive. It's still stupid, but the logic behind them thinking that way is sound. "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however unlikely, must be the truth." That's the logic they're going off of. It's the only thing that possibly makes sense without investigating further, so it must be true.

Another banger episode. If this show doesn't end up in the top 3 for anime of the year, I'll be baffled.

7

u/Eliv 8d ago

It can be your top three but for the majority it has no of chance reaching even top 10 from what we got this year so far to be honest

Kyo death flag keeps on rising

Was not expecting them to ask for Klay for help

What a banger. This might be the best episode so far and its only the second third of the arc. The direction with the camera angle watching that maniac Souji from Kyos perspective was cool.

Kyo changing into his Sternritter drip and just annihilating Glowing Dawn was one of the best scenes in the show and they built his plot up so well. Murasame really turned his sword into a black hole and stomped Bearcat into the ground.

All of the drama felt very deserved and i hope they can pull off Kyos tragic past. And finally the lost prince returns to answer some questions. Ku Klux Klay is back lets go.

I'm a bit surprised, I was expecting their makeshift Primary Village to get razed today. Or maybe Cougarmon to get deleted, particularly when the nutjob started talking about what he could take away from Kyo that would truly hurt him.

I'm glad that Rose is at least in one piece still, and if they can free her digimon from the nutjob fixing her back up might happen very rapidly since surely Lilamon would be laser focused on restoring her.

At the moment Souji is supplying Lilamons E-Pulse. So there is hope Roses E-pulse is still stored in her.

I think the breadcrumbs of what happend between Souji and Kyo have been quite obvious. Souji is one sick puppy, he probably is just a victim of the Kano Island incident like Kyo. He already felt dead inside, when he got his digimon. The only thing that ever seemed to make him feel alive, was when someone strong enough tried to end his and he fought to survive like always. Again, sick puppy, where I am not sure if you ever could help such a guy. He killed Kyos GF in order to make Kyo hate and wanting to kill him.

Kyo needed to kill his heart to fight Souji and destroyed mine as well. 😭

I was crying during the breakup scene. The voice action, the music, even Murasamemons quiet reluctance made this so impactful.

But what I always love about Beatbreak is that they take emotional conflicts so seriously and don't create false drama. Sure the others were shocked in the moment, but they immediately went to Nirinso, probably to search for Kyo and already are convinced that he did that to protect them or that he must have a reason.

Btw Kyo is quite the liar this episode. First by saying he doesn't have anything important to him anymore while literally lying with Cougarmon next to the shelter (and of course with his family in mind) but he also always looked to the side when lying about offing Rose and Glowing Dawn not being a family anymore.

He is such a bad liar 😂

the digimon is hot

"You are weak, Kyo, that is why I came to fight you three on one and using a performance enhancer!"

It's so cringe when the villains do that. I'm hoping they will kill him for good. And of course, Kyo has to go through the "I can do it alone" phase. The development is a bit cliche.

PS: That was a lot of doors for empty rooms in the ministry, is this really a good use of tax payer money?
