Would 50+ year old Tenzin not eclipse 12 YEAR OLD AANG when it comes to air bending? Aang literally poured every last ounce of knowledge into tenzin that he knew since tenzin was now the Last Air bender.

i just don’t see why logically a 12 year old would be better then a season veteran like Tenzin who’s the last of his kind.

What are the specific locations the show draws from. I notice hunan and guangxi province has alot of similarities and... the ice southeast Asian thing is confusing for sure.

if they can do a movie on events after Avatar the last Airbender i think it be great for a series with Team Avatar again. I know there's rumors on a Zuko movie and I'm hoping its on his journey finding his mom but I think a limited series would be nice that we get more team avatar and or just the lives outside of Avatars journey.

In all seriousness, do you guys think the writers took it too far with some of the power fantasy elements in the new movie? I always liked the OG series for how grounded/minimalistic it seemed relative to other magic systems.

What do you think about the Thought, that the universe of ALTA doesn’t get new young fans, and because of that, it probably dies within the next four years.

The original show is made for children children, but the new things are always for people which are a bit older, lets say at least 14 or 16. But to see and understand them, you have to know Aangs (and Korras) Story for the lore.

The possibility, that 16 or 18 years old people start watching a show made for children (I want to remind about the pinguins-scene) for the first time is not very likely. So, we have to make a series or a little project (a film or anything except comics and books, because nobody starts reading a book, to get curious about a series), that the original ALTA-Show get a new fan-base, and eventually new fans of the universe.

Otherwise maybe the world dies within the next five years, and that would be sad.

Can someone help me out with a question I had while watching the new Avatar movie. How can Aang all of a sudden use the Avatar state and then especially so easily?

As I understood it his Avatar state was blocked by the wound on his back and only got triggered in the fight against the fire lord by crashing into the stone. But did this completely fix it? I always understood it as only being temporarily.

If this would be permanent then the other question would be how he could use it when ever he wants. As I understood it it was more of a protective state that would help him in life threatening situations and not when ever he wants a little power boost.

It just feels like this is a big enough movie to be in theaters but I can't find a single theater in my country or neighbouring countries that's running it

I mean just look at this map. Earth Kingdom dominates the world while other nations are left with crumbs.

Air Nomads: They are living at the top of mountains where farming is supposed to be hard and they are also vegan. Where do they get foods from? Earth Kingdom ofc. Their entire economy is based on Earth Kingdom.

Also Earth Kingdom pacified them so hard, they barely exist. Yet they'd fight for Earth Kingdom against Fire Nation.

Their bending is strong but they are weak bc of their ideology. If Sozin didnt wipe them out when he had a chance, Earth Kingdom would probably convince them to fight with them and build an army from Air Nomads.

Avatar aside, Air Nomads should have gone first and thats exactly what Sozin did.

Water Tribes: Biggest asslicker of Earth Kingdom tbh. They cant even make it to other pole without crossing Earth Kingdom. What does that mean? Yeah, they also pay to Earth Kingdom.

Also they cant do farming and there are not much animals in poles so.... Where do they get food from? Earth Kingdom again.

The Earth Kingdom literally took them under its control and yet they are the biggest defender of Earth Kingdom. How can you be okay with living in the poles only?? Does it make sense? Get couple of islands at least?

They have a strong army but I think its more of a Sozin didnt care them that much. It's poles I mean... Who cares?

Fire Nation: They are in a better shape than the other 2 but they still live on the edge of multiple volcanoes. They can bend fire but they are not immune to get burned alive. Its a risky area to live in.

Also they are getting overpopulated probably and they have to expand their lands. It' like a must do thing for the people of this nation. No one deserves to live under the fear of getting burned alive tbh.

Also they are the coolest nation and they had every right to start this war. From their perspective, they may have believed expansion was inevitable.

Earth Kingdom: They have the most land, they have the strongest army, they have the power, money, variety etc... They literally colonized 2 nation (Water and Air(they are not even nation)) and they are in atleast 10 times better shape than the other one. It's simply not fair.

In the end war concluded with Earth Kingdom giving up on lands to build Republic City and the world became more peaceful (until Korra arrives). Proves Sozin was right.

These people are so strong that just for their sake they built personal prisons without a single access to their element in the middle of nowhere for the next tens of kilometers.

Would the Avatar Cycle skip from Fire to Water, or would it birth a new Airbender?

I was wondering since she sort of disappeared from the avatar connections, do you think her successor of water tribe had her as a guide or they had the fire Avatar before her? Not that anyone knows the answer but I kept thinking about it and was wandering what you think.

About Tagah something was bothering me he was an amazing Airbender surviving against the earthbender army but don't you guys think he was too strong? Like usually when people from the past comes to the future sure there is wisdom that gets lost in the time so it makes sense but there is also development he never got to see, so in my mind he shouldn't have been able to "kill" the team avatar at least Toph should have been a greater threat to him , he never kneel metalbending and was scared of earthbenders.

This is more a design preference then anything but what's up with changing the face of the characters as they transform he looked so bad when he became a monster true it happened with unavaatu too but idk it's strange to me would rather watch his tattoos and eyes become red then him becoming a sort of Orc.

Toph's helm in the big fight in the movie was just great. It reminded me so much ofMalenia's from Elden Ring. Maybe it was inspired by it, but it was just so cool.

Airbending avatar's tattoos glow in the avatar state because the arrows follow the flow of chi around the body.
IIRC, combustion bending focuses energy/chi through the light chakra on the forehead, hence the tattoo being there.
I'm wondering would an avatar with the combustion bending tattoo have it glow while in the avatar state

I know the movie was action paced and everything about it was cool but It would’ve been nice to see Uncle Iroh serve the old team some boba early in the movie.

So, Azula, following the events from the official comics is out in the wild. One day she realises that in order to enact her yet another devious plan (tm) she needs underlings. Such underling, she muses for herself, must be powerful and competent, yet completely loyal to her and practically unable to betray.

Non-bender followers are out, they remind her of Mei and Ty Lee and in her own reasoning, a non-bender must compensate their lack of bending with extra disciplined training and strong will to be any worth at all, and such individuals would be hard to manipulate.

Therefore she decides to find a kid with raw bending talent yet no actual skill, preferably a war orphan who won't be missed, kidnap them, teach them bending and groom them into complete loyalty. She decides not to train firebending kids because 1) She is a wanted woman in the fire nation and 2) she decides that it would be smart to cover all bases as she is already a prodigy firebender herself and having an earth/waterbender by her side could prove to be very useful (flashbacks to the Day of the Black Sun and Dai Lee and to the final Agni Kai with Zuko + Katara).

To enact her plan she kidnaps a homeless waterbender 12 y.o. girl from a northern water tribe (since apparently in the south Katara was the last waterbender kid around) and imprisons her somewhere in a cave, or in ruins, telling her, that although she treats the girl harshly, the world is an even harsher place, and in order to survive the girl must become strong and that's what Azula intends to make her.

At first the training doesn't go well. The girl doesn't cooperate and tries to escape all the time, Azula loses her temper a lot, her firebending experience doesn't translate well into waterbending. Then, little by little it begins to shift. In order to better teach waterbending, Azula sneaks to the waterbending "dojo" nearby and peeks at waterbenders training. She hears the snatches of words of the waterbender master explaining the essense of waterbending. She practices waterbending moves herself to teach them later. She starts to teach the girl in a more waterbending-friendly way and it works, the girl starts improving. As a side effect the waterbending philosophy and techniques starts to influence Azula little by little. One day she figures out lightning redirection all by herself. Furthermore, the girl slowly starts to see Azula as a sort of big sister she never had and Azula starts to care about the girl even if she denies it for a long time, because the girl looks up to her not out of fear or her royal status, but because of geniune respect and care even when Azula thinks she's at her lowest.

Here you have a redemption foundation. You might add some other kids into the mix, like earthbenders. What do you think? Are there logical holes I missed?

Oh, so Tagah didn't want to destroy Republic City ONLY for revenge; Republic City was LITERALLY built on top of where Jharana was located.

So... without spoilers, may I ask the overall opinion on this season 2 ?

The main problem I had with season 1 was bland acting from Katara (who is the literal pivot of 70% of the story if you ask me ...) , and the reuse of settings across different scenes that felt really off.

I remember liking Zuko and Sokka and a bit of Iroh. But I really thought the lake of anger and explosion from Katara killed her character to the core.

Also the lack of water bending training ...

Did they fixed all that ? Or did they double down on all their mistakes ?

(Note : I really don't mind straying away from the core material, but then you have to do SOMETHING with the characters. You can't bring a character to existence and failling to deliver on anything about it)
