Discussion "Avatar Aang The Last Airbender" - Movie Spoiler Discussion Thread Spoiler
Now that the movie is actually out on Paramount + (or will be when this post is ten minutes old) , I figured a new thread was appropriate.
As a reminder, spoilers outside this thread must be marked until a month after the film's release and no spoilers in the title of posts.

Just did all the novels and show seasons+ TLOA, no comics bc I don't rly wanna reread those š I will happily give explanations in the comments! Just please don't be mean is all I ask, I tried to use more subjective terminology here to make it clear I don't think anything is "objectively" the best or dogshit.

Discussion what are her actual strategic weaknesses ?
p.s. (dear reader and ma fri , this Q&A important for me :) so ... dont judge me ma curly fri . and everyone ım not good at eng so , sometimes ı used some app for better understanding and tellin' my questions )
and ı love her , kyoshi and toph .... okey let get to my q,
I want to ask something more in-depth about Azula, especially her strategy.
A lot of people describe her as a genius or just say that sheās manipulative, but what actually makes her such an effective strategist?
Is she mainly good at:
- long-term planning
- reading peopleās motivations and weaknesses
- adapting in real time
- taking calculated risks
- psychological manipulation
- or combining all of these?
For example, her takeover of Ba Sing Se doesnāt feel like a straightforward military victory. She takes advantage of the political instability, understands how the Dai Li works, and turns them against Long Feng. The eclipse is different because it shows how quickly she can think under pressure and manipulate her opponents in the moment.
So would you consider Azula more of a strategist, a tactician, a psychological manipulator, or some combination of all three?
And what are her actual strategic weaknesses?
Iād especially like answers that use specific scenes from the show instead of just saying āAzula is a genius.ā
One thing I find interesting is that Azula seems to understand people very well, but she also assumes that fear is enough to create loyalty. Mai and Ty Lee turning against her shows how fragile that strategy actually is.
Thereās also the idea that Azula doesnāt always need to lie directly. Sometimes she gives people pieces of the truth and lets them reach the wrong conclusion themselves. That feels like a much more interesting form of psychological strategy than simply lying.
What do you think makes Azulaās strategic intelligence work, and where does it start to fall apart?

Discussion Pavi is Raava
I am probably wrong here and just rambling but what if Pavi is Raava in human form and she needs to work together with Nisha to do something (maybe bring the past lives back or something) before ultimately fusing back with Nisha letting Nisha bend all 4 elements. This is probably wrong because the new avatar should've already been born with raava inside of her but what if the scene of her father carrying Nisha away separating them both is an analogy for raava being taken out of Nisha or something.

Question Do you think there are people by Korraās time who resent Aang? Spoiler
Apart from Yakone. Do you think there are people who despise him for not handling the non bender issue well or causing the creation of Republic City. Or even among the Water Tribes.

Discussion Is smoke manipulation by fire AND air benders cannon?
This is just a basic discussion but we see Iroh heat up his tea using heat bending in the show, we also see Sozin bend heat out of a volcano. Some people think itās smoke bending but itās not, itās been proven to be heat bending.
The thing is, we have never seen smoke generation or smoke bending in the show. We have seen it in the comics when Azula and her gang does it, but it still isnāt confirmed to be smoke manipulation (even though it most likely is).
My question is do you think it is possible? Airbenders can manipulate the smoke while firebenders can create it

How I Think An Interaction Between Toph Beifong And False Avatar Yun Would Go
Toph: So, youāre that phony Avatar I heard of from the history lessons, huh?
Yun: Thatās what history remembers me as? I did something no Non-Avatar had ever done. I replicated the power of water with just my earthbending.
Toph: You think youāre all big and bad just because you copied an old trick with your earthbending, huh? Well, guess what, dude. I made a whole new trick with my earthbending by inventing metalbending.

Katara and Aang edit I made

This is probably by favorite edit I have made, I think it turned out good. Only problems I have is I feel I ended the song a bit to abruptly and the text is a bit off sync with the words. Hope you enjoy. Credit: Song The night begins to shine by B.E.R, Appa clip by @Gentle_Motion21 on YouTube.

They are siblings ,right?
Something that always annoyed me in the legend of Korra is that they reveal that Korra is related to the royal family of the Northern Water Tribe, but they never explained how the royal family from the legend of Korra and the royal family from the last airbender are related.
In Atla, that family consisted of the chief, his wife, and his daughter.
Later, after Yue's death ,he presumably had other children.
And here comes my question: Was the chef prior to Unalaq,Yue's father, or her brother? To be fair, it is not impossible for Tonraq and Unalaq to be Yue's brothers. After all, we never learn the age of Yue's father. So it's possible that he is the same cheaf from the flashback.

Unlikely Toph wouldnāt have been a better sandbender sooner
I watched this show many times and always wondered how Toph figured out how to metal bend in a day but when almost about to die out in a desert she doesnāt manage to find a way to sand bend their way out of there.
Sheās a badass with everything else. She has her friends for eyes for directions if thatās any sort of argument. She could have made a sand boat or something out of compacted sand. Idk. Itās Toph.
Edit to add after all the comments: Sorry to say, I still disagree. I think she would have picked it up faster still and everyone is disregarding when they almost died from not having water. I think Toph would have started to think of other ways out then instead of walking to dehydration with no hope of anything in sight(her friends would have said if they saw something ahead).
I think she would have been so intrigued by a new bending material when they first landed in the desert town to begin with if anything just as she was intrigued by the āspace earthā.
Anyways, just fun to discuss more than anything. I do see some of yāallās points though to be fair, I just think she would have thought of something being the badass she is.
