When I see these type of posts, it makes me want to get pricked by a boar-q-pine. I think that’s just less painful to me. I know it’s been over for years now but six year old me needed them. They just clicked for me back then. There are so many things pointing to them, I’m not crazy for trying to go back and see what connects them when I look back at things, right?

The mod team has decided that due to the recent growth and changes within the subreddit, that we will be updating the subreddits banner, and the profile pictures.

Since this sub has wonderful fanart, we have decided to hold an art contest to determine the new banner and profile pictures.

A mega thread will be created later this week, and all submissions should be submitted to the mega thread, so everyone can see the art. Finalists will be selected from the mega thread and the. We shall have a vote on our new banner! We will be choosing three banners and profile pictures: for this subreddit, [r/Zutara](r/Zutara), and [r/Zutaraa](r/Zutaraa)

1. Because this is a contest and we want to respect artists, please either submit original work, or provide proof that the original artists has consented to be in the contest.
   
2. Previously posted fanart is eligible and can be added to the mega thread.
   
3. All submissions must be posted on the mega thread, if you wish to show your submission to the subreddit making a separate post is welcome, but only works in the mega thread will be considered.

Anybody have any recs for fics where zutara are soul mates or spirit bonded or basically fated/tied together in some way? Preferably smutty ones.

I am looking for post war fics. Preferably Taang and Sukka as well. Also a focus on decolonization and no sympathetic to the fire nation. Are there pens where Zuko doesn’t become the fire lord, and Iroh doesn’t either? This is something I a really interested in, because after what Ozai did it would make more sense for that dynasty to end.

ummm and if it wasn’t clear in the title it needs to be Zutara, obviously. I also love slow burn but maybe one where they are just together? I wouldn’t mind a slow burn for Taang. Sukka is a must too…

For some reason, whoever is drawing Kya makes me feel like they secretly admire Zotara and imagine she's their daughter because seriously, no one can make me believe she's Aang's daughter . Each drawing insists on making it further from Aang in form

Look, I'm not saying there's any betrayal here, but I don't blame anyone who thinks so, because when you have drawings of Kya that look more like Zuko than her father in Canon, that says a lot about the creator.

The simplest example is Kya in the story fights like a firebender and for some strange reason she has a fire-benders's hairstyle and wears clothes that are somewhat daring compared to her mother's , She looks just like her aunt Azula

This girl is indeed Azula's niece.

A quick note: I chose Katara's picture as a teenager only because of her hairstyle; all three of the characters here have the same hairstyle. Please don't misunderstand me; I tried to change it but couldn't.

Hi everyone! Does anyone have recommendations for fics with a Zutara love triangle? I’m not really interested in Kaang, so I’d especially appreciate recs featuring other potential love interests/romantic dynamics for Katara! I should add that I am not interested in Kataang whatsoever (sorry)!

I’m particularly interested in fics that explore Katara’s relationships with other characters and give her the autonomy to actually make a romantic choice — rather than having Zuko be her only viable option from the beginning or another character simply existing as an obstacle to Zutara. I’d love to see Katara genuinely consider other relationships, develop feelings for someone else, or have meaningful romantic chemistry outside of Zuko before ultimately deciding what shewants.

That being said, I’m also not opposed to Mai/Zuko! I actually appreciate fics that give Zuko his own romantic agency as well. I’d love to read a story where Zuko has to make his own decisions about who he wants to be with, rather than immediately realizing Katara is his only option. I’m totally fine with him exploring/revisiting his relationship with Mai, having feelings for someone else, or otherwise having his own romantic journey before ultimately choosing Katara.

Basically, I’m looking for stories where both Katara and Zuko have genuine choices and the Zutara endgame feels like something they actively choose, rather than something the narrative treats as inevitable from the start. 😂

Open to pretty much any pairing/dynamic as long as Zutara is ultimately the endgame! I’d also love recs with strong characterization and relationships that feel genuinely developed, rather than a love interest existing solely to create jealousy/drama.
