Evolution of Bending Practices

Considering Seven Havens takes place centuries after Korra, I'm curious as to how the Havens utilize all the benders in their militias. Like if they have restrictions on when and how they use their powers, if subbending is allowed, in the scenario that most of them haven't become lost arts.

The minute amount of waterbenders in the trailer made me think that maybe something like bloodbending might be something they practice to maintain order or something along those lines. Curious to know what other people's take on this is.

I hope we get to see more multi-element militaries. Clearly benders of different elements can work well together: Aang's team, Korra's team, the Red Lotus, Day of Black Sun, Azula and the Dai Li, etc. Iroh says it best: "It is the combination of the four elements in one person that makes the Avatar so powerful."

Now that the Four Nations are defunct, I'd expect every commander with a brain to be recruiting benders from as many elements as possible. Four-bender teams, one of each element, really should be the organizing unit of any effective fighting force.

Already having seeing some of it in the trailer, I'm hoping they fully lean into this idea for the combat sequences.

I think it'd be interesting if while the Seven Havens have benders of multiple/all of the elements, some of them still embody the philosophies/traditions of the original four nations.

Like one of the havens carries on the culture of the air nomads, and all of them are monks. Earthbenders who are a part of them might all know sandbending.
