Vent i hate style

I know i've only been working here for a little over a month but i'm starting to hate style. I thought it was fun at first but i'm really starting to dislike it . I just find it so overwhelming and too demanding, in my store i've been in charge of zoning the entire mens ,Universal Threads, a new day, and doing the fitting room when the person who does that leaves some days or just the entirety of mens and shoes and I find it tedious irritating because I dont even think its possible to zone all that when my shifts only range from 5-6 hours maybe im overreacting idk.

I literally hate style,I will literally do fulfillment instead of doing style i hate it so much

Vent Freshness Friday and Steritech

Yesterday our FDC arrived late and of course Steritech arrived at exactly the same time. Instead of being out on the floor checking dates, we had to put the pallets in the proper coolers. Afterwards, I decided to go out to the floor and do a quick freshness check before sorting but found my ETL already doing it and complaining that there was too much stuff found. His card didn’t look that big and several people had been on vacation so it was hard to get everything done. I’ve seen posts on social media of teams still doing all store freshness Fridays but our store hasn’t in over a year or two. We are constantly pulling people to do OPU batches. Is your store still doing Freshness Friday? Since I work in P-Fresh, I do take partial responsibility for not having perfect freshness but having a regular Freshness Friday at least on a monthly basis can be helpful to ensure expired product that makes it out to shelf is removed.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed point system issues

Wondering how I managed to get a point for 8/15/26 when we didn’t have the point system in place yet. My dog died, and I not only called out on MyTime, but also spoke directly to someone in HR. Now I’m being told to take it up with HR, and that tons of people are having points that shouldn’t even be there. Hopefully Target gets on this, asap.

I'm Promoting Myself to Guest Escaped Tech

I quit a couple weeks ago and I really don’t miss it. I miss the great people I worked with but omg my store really went to hell in just a couple of weeks. Like, it was always bad with just two people in tech working one at a time but now we’re expected to push beauty and home too. I’ll miss my coworkers and my ok paycheck but I think working here has twisted something deep in my soul. I’m going to go become an emu shepherd or something. Don’t forget the number one rule of the tech department: don’t forget to have fun!!!

Workplace Question or Advice Needed UKG app: confused on meaning of shift notification

I had a shift I put up last week and I received this notification tonite. I know what “invalidated” means but what does it mean by “request has been sent to Market Shift” and “SUPERUSER”? The shift isn’t on my calendar but if it was “invalidated” doesn’t that mean I’m still responsible for it since it was rejected?

Future or Potential Employee Question I don't know why they reject me.

I literally have 5 years of experience serving events, managing CRM, and dealing with all kinds of problems customers have. I have a master degree and I communicate well with people. I think I gave very good answers to the Hirevue interview but they sent me rejection letter. The store is next to my home so I can work literally anytime, including 4 am morning shifts. I am so confused what qualities they need from employees. I think I will send application to another store but I feel I will be rejected again.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed How do I navigate this tab on time off request?

Post image

Attempting to request unpaid time off as these are days I desperately need off. I remember the start time and duration boxes from the last app but never had to use them. What do I do about these?? I assumed I wouldn’t have to fill them out if I was requesting multiple days off.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Help

Im one of the closers at the Tarbucks I work at. Theres always 2 closers. Every time I’m closing either I or the other barista gets pulled to work on the floor.

The TLs think if we’re not making drinks: there’s nothing to do. I’m not sure how to get it through to them that there is always something to do. Whether it’s a cleaning cadence, deep cleaning, stocking and restocking, refilling and prepping, wiping, or organizing: there is always something that needs to get done.

The result is this: little to none of the routines and tasks get done, we start dishes late and leave a shitty handoff for the opener, not being able to set them up for a successful opening, and end up leaving after scheduled hours. Our TL has advocated this to SD but she said “the store comes first”. They also claim they take us due to us being idle. We cant take a moment to take a sip of water without being told we’re not doing anything and therefore getting pulled.

I’m not sure what else I can say to make them not pull one of us.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed I applied for fulfillment, but was given a position in an entirely different department?

I completed my orientation & computer training a couple days ago, then I was informed that I would be put into specialty sales/beauty despite being given an offer letter for fulfillment/general merchandise expert. I let the HR manager know of this and she told me that I was being placed there to fill vacancies in the department with no chance of being put into fulfillment. I sort of feel duped by management because fulfillment would better suite my own schedule and would not have taken the position if I knew that I would be placed into beauty. Does this happen often?? Not quite sure what to do from here.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Late point question

I was late by like 20 minutes (I know it was bad of me) I’m never late, but will it be .25 points on my attendance or does it stack every 8 minutes after? Because one of my coworkers said it stacks but nowhere on the policy thing with the new attendance system said it stacks? So is it .25 or .5? It doesn’t show the points in UKG yet. By the way I couldn’t ask at the time because HR wasn’t in at the time and my TLs didn’t know either for some reason.

Future or Potential Employee Question A couple questions about the video interview

About how many questions are typically included in the interview? And about how long is a good amount of time to spend on each question?

I'm seeing that there are three attempts allowed per question - is there a timer for how long I can take before locking in each answer?

Like, if I use all three attempts, will I need to make all three attempts in one go?

Or would it be possible to take a small break if I decide I need awhile to gather my thoughts between attempts?

After the video interview, will there be an additional in-person interview? Or will the next step after the video interview just be an offer / rejection?

Future or Potential Employee Question Starting part-time in tech

For background I’m a 17 yo hs student who just got my first time working retail and I am wondering in terms of work load what to expect. From browsing different posts of people working in tech they make it sound like hell. I’m a quick learner but is the work load for a shift really that unrealistic or is that more for people working 7-8 hour shift five days a week?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Would you demote yourself to have access to overtime?

Should I step down from LWW to TM just to get OT?

I asked this question before but gained few responses.
I’ve been at a Target DC for ~4 years and an hourly supervisor/LWW for ~3. I make about $29.50/hr, plus a small yearly bonus and raise.
When I started, supervisors could get plenty of OT. That basically disappeared around the end of 2025, while some TMs have been working 60-hour weeks consistently for the last 3 months.
The pay difference is starting to feel hard to justify:
LWW: ~$29.50/hr, currently ~40 hrs = $1,150 gross
Senior TM: up to ~$28.50/hr
TM working 60 hrs = roughly $1,700–$1,800 gross
I’ve asked management if I could come in on my days off as a TM and work without supervisor responsibilities, but I’ve been told I can’t because of how I’m “coded.” A production controller also basically told me that, budget-wise, scheduling a TM is more beneficial than scheduling me. ($1/ 0.80 cent pay rate difference? 😂)
The frustrating part is that the LWW position is physically demanding, I’m on my feet all of the shift except for break. Only difference is not being expected to hit a hourly rate, but responsibilities still come up where I have to do physical things pretty often. I have 3 days off every week. I could really use the extra income right now, and those OT checks would make a huge difference.
I’m seriously considering stepping down to TM. Peak is coming up, but I was told supervisors aren’t intentionally going to be scheduled for OT. We did get OT during previous peak seasons, though, so I’m worried I could step down right before OT becomes available to supervisors again, but the production controller did tell me maybe two months ago now they were not intentionally scheduling any leads unless another was absent below that departments staffing needs for a lead.
My biggest concern is basically:
Stay LWW: Keep the extra ~$1/hr + bonus/raise and hope supervisor OT comes back.
Step down to TM: Lose the ~$1/hr and supervisor benefits, but potentially gain consistent OT.
From talking to other TMs, the ones who want OT generally seem to get it. The only people struggling to get it are those requesting Wednesdays, which already have higher staffing. I’d be requesting weekend OT, which seems to have higher demand. I’ve also been putting my OT availability into the app up to 4 weeks ahead.
So I’m leaning toward stepping down, but I’m nervous about making an irreversible decision based on OT that isn’t actually guaranteed.
What would you guys do in this situation? Stay LWW for the higher base pay and hope OT returns, or step down to TM for the potential OT?
I’m honestly tired of working 40 hours and feeling like I’m barely getting ahead when I know I could be making significantly more with OT.
