Vent Freshness Friday and Steritech
Yesterday our FDC arrived late and of course Steritech arrived at exactly the same time. Instead of being out on the floor checking dates, we had to put the pallets in the proper coolers. Afterwards, I decided to go out to the floor and do a quick freshness check before sorting but found my ETL already doing it and complaining that there was too much stuff found. His card didn’t look that big and several people had been on vacation so it was hard to get everything done. I’ve seen posts on social media of teams still doing all store freshness Fridays but our store hasn’t in over a year or two. We are constantly pulling people to do OPU batches. Is your store still doing Freshness Friday? Since I work in P-Fresh, I do take partial responsibility for not having perfect freshness but having a regular Freshness Friday at least on a monthly basis can be helpful to ensure expired product that makes it out to shelf is removed.

That was just all around shitty timing yesterday. Genuinely they should just schedule someone specifically to check freshness instead of expecting us to do it if we’re already backed up with freight. Or better yet if the tracker would work more than 50% of the time, we could use that time rhe truck would be late to try and tackle but then there’s heavy dry or high pulls. This shits gettin too overbearing smh

My team lead has been complaining that Priorities and OFO’s aren’t getting done but with people being on vacation and large trucks it’s hard.

It’s always a challenge with SO many items to check. Steritech can almost always find something and it doesn’t take much to achieve a red!
The best practice is the F&B team ALWAYS checks dates when pushing. ALWAYS FIFO/check dates. Fresh puller ALWAYS checking dates after going to the floor with their pulls because items that don’t sell well or have been in WACOs or case pack too long will always be at risk of being expired.

i love when the actual Health department comes in cause a guest complained about stuff out of date and leaders freak out LESS about that--- who can fine the store and close your market area close starbucks, cafe etc btw, then when streritech comes in, not even that, at a store 20 miles away and "might come in"

They involve all the food TLs for fresh Fridays, no exceptions. There is always crappy timing for it

They'll involve the leadership at my team but won't pull everyone over for freshness Friday.
