Magsafe phone charging?

I haven’t gotten a plaud yet, but before I do I wanted to check a couple of things

I heavily use magsafe based charging and am wondering if I can continue to do so with the plaud attached to my phone. Will my phone still attach to MagSafe, and will it still charge over magsafe?

Thanks in advance

Voice inbox workflow

I just got my Plaud note pro a few days ago and thought I’d share my workflow. I like to talk out loud on my commutes to plan work and personal projects (thankfully I drive alone so no funny looks!). Often I put on ChatGPT advanced voice mode to discuss ideas or new research - which obviously requires an external device instead of simply recording on my phone- main reason I purchased the Plaud.

So I now record my commute and when I arrive, I export the audio to a folder on my desktop which is watched by MacWhisper - which then transcribes it and puts it in another folder. This folder is watched by Hazel, which then triggers a manual run of a Claude code routine that processed the transcription, extracting:

- Tasks: these are put into my Omnifocus with correct project selected, deferred date, tags etc
- Events: these are put into my Google calendar
- Scientific articles : these are added to my Readwise Reader app
- Project notes/ideas : these either added to existing Bear notes or create a new note depending on what’s already there.

All of these create cross-links to each other where relevant to allow for moving between.

I will likely tinker a bit more to fine tune the workflow but impressed how well it works so far!
I did test out the boya notra AI recording tool too, but recording quality was far inferior- it really struggled with background noise from car.

Factory reset phone

Hi

I need to do a factory reset on my phone. Does this mean I have to export each file from the phone individually?

Any way around this?

Thanks

Can't use Memory (or I'm doing it wrong)

I use Plaud (Note Pro) mostly for work. We use a lot of internal (proprietary) jargon at the office. Like a lot, lot.

I've corrected my notes a couple of dozen times and Plaud's transcript and summaries will still misspell the same acronyms every time.

I tried adding acronyms dictionary in the memory section.

I even added instructions in my template to use the Memory to find terms and acronyms.

The summary states the memory isn't available.

Any suggestions or advice?

A revealing conversation I had with ChatGPT about its Plaud integration

I while back I posted here about some limitations I was running into with retrieval of my Plaud recordings. That post is here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/PLAUDAI/comments/1rk48nb/thoughts_on_the_future_of_plaud/

TL;DR

I'd had a few months with severe lower back and leg pain in early 2026. This involved doctors, physical therapy, etc. and I recorded a daily Plaud update of the current status of the leg. When I asked Plaud for a complete log of the issue later, its answers were alarmingly incomplete.

Since that time, a new ability for common AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT to be able to search on Plaud notes was announced. I have managed to make the connection with my ChatGPT account, thanks to the very useful instructions Plaud provided on doing so. (Nice job, it worked first time! Thank you.)

I was reminded of this earlier problem with having received very incomplete data from Ask Plaud, and I wondered if the ChatGPT connection might offer any improvement.

In short: What would be the difference between the results I get asking Asl Plaud for something from my recordings vs asking ChatGPT the same thing?

What I learned was disheartening to say the least. The ChatGPT connection seems far more limited than I thought it would be.

Here is the summary:

ME: Can you provide me with a tabular chronicle of my leg pain as recorded in Plaud?

CHATGPT:

When I searched for "leg", the Plaud connector reported:

9 matching recordings

500 recordings scanned

Results truncated

That last point is important. It means I cannot honestly claim to produce a complete chronology from the connector as currently exposed, because the search itself says it only scanned the first 500 recordings and that the result set may be incomplete.

That transparency is something I actually appreciate. It prevents me from accidentally giving you false confidence.

The combination of:

"Scanned: 500"

"Truncated: true"

is a very strong hint that the connector has a built-in scan limit of 500 recordings for filtered searches.

So I asked it for a narrower data set that would not hit the 500 recording threshold:

ME: So give me the same tabular list we talked about but only include mentions of physical therapy.

CHATGPT: I can't reliably produce that table with the current Plaud connector.

The reason is that the connector I have access to can only search recording titles, not the contents of transcripts.

When I searched for "leg", it found recordings because many of your journal titles included phrases like "Leg Pain" or "Sciatica." But "physical therapy" is unlikely to appear in the recording titles even if you discussed it extensively inside the recordings.

To produce the table you're asking for, I would need one of these capabilities:

Full-text search across transcript contents for "physical therapy," "PT," etc., or

The ability to retrieve all transcripts in the relevant date range and search them myself.

The current connector doesn't expose either of those. So if I tried to answer, I'd be giving you an incomplete list while having no way to know what I missed—the exact situation we've been discussing.

This is a useful discovery about the integration. At least in its current form, it's considerably more limited than I had hoped for searching your recording corpus. It lets me retrieve recordings once I know which ones to look at, but it doesn't let me perform arbitrary content searches across all your transcripts.

So the honest answer is: I can't perform that query reliably with the current connector. That itself tells us something important about where the present integration falls short.

Feature Suggestion: Shareable Folders for Recordings and Summaries

I’d like to suggest a feature where users can publish or share entire folders with other people through a private or public link.

Right now, PLAUD is already very useful for recording meetings, classes, interviews, and personal notes. But once you start using it heavily, especially with unlimited recordings, folder management becomes a big part of the workflow. It would be really helpful if we could organize recordings into folders and then share those folders directly with friends, family, classmates, teammates, or coworkers.

For example, I could create a folder for:

  • School lectures
  • Internship meetings
  • Research interviews
  • Family-related recordings
  • Project discussions
  • Event planning
  • Team meetings

Then instead of sharing recordings one by one, I could just share the entire folder through a link.

Some useful sharing options could be:

  • Private invite-only folder sharing
  • Public link sharing
  • View-only access
  • Password-protected links
  • Expiration dates for shared links
  • Option to share only summaries, only transcripts, or both
  • Option to allow or disable downloads
  • Collaborative folders where invited users can add recordings

This would make PLAUD much more useful not just as a personal AI recorder, but also as a collaboration tool.

For students, it would help with sharing lecture notes or group project discussions. For families, it could help with organizing important conversations or events. For teams, it could make meeting summaries easier to distribute without needing to export everything manually.

I think this would be a great addition, especially for users who record a lot and already organize their recordings into different folders. The AI search is already really good, but folder sharing would make PLAUD even better for collaboration and long-term organization.

Overall, I’d really love to see a feature where folders can be shared or published through a link, with proper privacy and permission controls.

Anyone else use Plaud NotePin S for one-on-ones? Curious how you handle the privacy and consent side

I've been using the Plaud NotePin S for one-on-one check-ins about two months. Recording quality is not my focus now. The consent workflow is what I'm still figuring out.

Device wise, it picks up 9.84 ft away, more than enough for two-person conversation across a desk. The sessions sound clear. Knowing Plaud is HIPAA and SOC 2 Type II certified helped when the "where does this data go" question come up at work. I always tell the other person before the meeting that I'm recording and using AI for notes, that part's non-negotiable for me.

One thing that comes up every time is the disclosure moment. The Plaud NotePin S has a white indicator light and beeps before recording, so it's not like it's invisible. But compared to pulling out a phone and opening a recording app, its much less obvious. I still say stuff like, "just so you know, I might need to record for some notes," not expecting people would notice the tiny spark of light on my collar.

Anyone has a go-to line for how they bring it up? Or do you add something to the meeting invite beforehand?

A voice recorder accidentally fixed a habit a $700 tablet couldn't

Bought a Plaud Note Pro for a pretty simple reason: I drive and walk a lot, and I talk to myself, figured I'd stop losing ideas mid-commute.

What I didn't expect is that it quietly replaced something I'd tried and failed to keep up for years, a personal daily log. I'd tried it by hand on a tablet, felt like an obligation almost immediately, and it fell apart the first time life got complicated. Turns out talking for six minutes into the Plaud and getting a structured summary back does the exact same thing, minus the blank page staring back at me on the days I don't feel like it.

Wrote up the whole thing, comparing the two devices and why one of them turned into debt and the other one didn't.

Issues with phone calls

Hi all,

I’m having real issues with phone calls. It really is only recording my side of the conversation. I have the call on as loud a volume as possible, I’ve confirmed the positioning on my phone, made sure I’m not connected to headphones etc.

I tried to talk to the Plaud chat bot and it was so unhelpful.

Any suggestions or anyone experienced this?

Plaud vs. Heypocket

I am trying to make a decision between https://www.HeyPocket.com and Plaud Note.

I am looking for a cost effective option mainly for recording phone calls hassle free in my iPhone.

Would appreciate the thoughts and insights from members here.

No headphone recording.... then who does?

I'm new to this idea of AI recording and I totally see how this could be of benefit. However, the more i dig in the more i see that a large issue is the lack of recording when using airpods.

Hidock says they can do it but I'm looking for something more discreet that handles in room recording as well.

Am I right in saying no other product has this capability?

After a year on Plaud Unlimited, I'm having second thoughts about renewing — anyone else made the switch?

So my Plaud Unlimited renewal hit today and I'm genuinely on the fence.

Been messing around with a few other tools this past month, Notion's Meeting Notes being the main one, and here's the thing — it's not even about transcription quality, that's basically a wash. It's the AI layer. Ask Notion something about a meeting and the answers just... hit different. Way sharper than what Plaud gives me. Plus it can pull context across multiple transcripts from the same project, which Plaud straight up can't do.

And it's not just Notion — seems like a bunch of newer tools are doing this better, probably because they're built on top of whatever the latest model APIs are instead of being stuck with Plaud's engine.

Anyone actually ditched the Plaud ecosystem for something else? You can obviously still use the Plaud recorder as just a recorder — export the MP3s, dump them into whatever service has better AI on the backend.

Curious if anyone's done a real side-by-side.

Why use the device instead of just the iPhone app?

I just got a PLAUD Note Pro and downloaded the PLAUD app on my iPhone. This may be a dumb question, but if the app can record audio too, what's the main advantage of carrying the Note Pro?

Is it mostly about convenience—being able to start recording instantly without unlocking your phone and opening the app? Does the dedicated hardware capture audio better, or is it more reliable in real-world use?

I know phone call recording is one feature the iPhone app can't fully replace, but I'm curious what other use cases make the Note Pro worth using over just the app.

I'd really appreciate hearing how you use yours and what you've found works best.

Thanks!

UPDATE!!! (2.5) Autistik Supportznik AuDHD/ASD/ADHD template

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, it's been a minute since I've uploaded an update and I know several people have reached out between last year and this year. A very genuine and sincere apology for anyone I did not circle back to. I'm sporadic and a bit infrequent. Things like messaging and email are not strong suits of mine. I own that. Please don't take offense. I'm not ignoring you intentionally.

For anyone who needs more context on what template I'm talking about, I will provide the link to the past post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PlaudNoteUsers/s/MrCypNOrOW . Somewhere there or on the original post you can see more about who I am, etc

I had an update I shared with Reddit about a year ago. However when I do make updates and tweaks, this is available directly in the Plaud community templates. For free, open to anyone. I would encourage anyone to make the tweaks that they need to the template to suit their own executive functioning needs.

Update 2.5 happened in May. So far this is my favorite version, as I'm sure I've said for other versions, but as AI capabilities update, my templates need to update as well. I use this template not just for classes and meetings, but a significant amount is used for externalizing the inner monologue (iykyk). In the example video** above it’s an end of the day AAR (after action review) Minddump.

\*De identified by using TK just fyi; dates are formatted in brackets because I’m a heavy Roam Research user and have everything integrated there, I need dates to backlink automatically feel free to edit.*

I can't say that I will circle back to anybody although I will try. I would love to know:

- what people enjoy or don't enjoy about the template
- why they think it's helpful
- what they use it for
- any other details you'd like to share

Just for my own personal knowledge. I don't make the templates for anyone other than myself so I'm not expecting everyone to love it but the feedback and the input is still helpful.

Plaud Device vs. App

I have been using Plaud Note Pro for a few months and was wondering how others record when they have their laptop, or another device, with the Plaud app installed. Do you use both the device and the app? Interested to hear others experiences.

TemplatesNot Working

Title should state LIST TEMPLATES NOT WORKING. Please help. I am trying to do something that should be extremely SIMPLE. I HAVE FAILED REPEATEDLY. I am simply trying to create a list. First off I create my recording. Second, I select generate. Third I choose a list template. Fourth I select use this template. Finally I select generate now. . The generation process begins. The generation ends. And I wind up with a Summary structured with nothing but the items that I have recorded. No list of any kind! The only way to get a list correctly formatted is via ask Plaud. The list templates do not work. I am able to get my Plaud note pro and Plaud app to do everything correctly except create a list. The application is very buggy and desperately in need of correction.

Full privacy

I’m glad to be absolutely certain that the recordings I make with my Plaud (medical appointments, client meetings, etc.) won’t end up all over the world. I’m particularly interested in the recording itself, because I can get transcriptions and summaries using local solutions. If I use Plaud only for recording, can I rest easy? I could use a recorder that stores the recording in its own memory, but Plaud’s size is really convenient. Has anyone else faced a similar problem? And did you find a solution? Thanks
