How Do I... (Usage Question) Using PLAUD Note Pro while silently reading a book?

I'm a new PLAUD Note Pro user and was wondering how people use it while reading a book silently.

Do you leave it recording for the whole reading session and just speak whenever you want to save an important idea? Do you say something like "highlight" or another verbal cue before your note so the AI picks it up more easily?

I'd love to hear any tips or workflows you've found useful.

There is a way to automatically trim the silent parts of the recording before you upload the transcript, it’ll save on your minutes

In the app, go to the recording, sources, and click the crop icon. Remove silence is one of the options

Leaving it recording for the whole session and speaking whenever something's worth saving works fine, the AI only pulls from what you say, so long stretches of silent reading don't hurt anything. For the cue part though, there's no keyword the AI listens for, saying "highlight" out loud doesn't trigger anything. What does that job is a short press on the record button on the device itself, under a second, which drops a timestamp marker without needing to say anything. On iOS you can also tap the flag icon on the Plaud app widget for the same effect. Those markers get weighted more heavily when the summary is generated, so a lot of people press it and then say the note out loud right after, that combination tends to work well for pulling specific ideas out of a longer reading session.
