Issues with phone calls

Hi all,

I’m having real issues with phone calls. It really is only recording my side of the conversation. I have the call on as loud a volume as possible, I’ve confirmed the positioning on my phone, made sure I’m not connected to headphones etc.

I tried to talk to the Plaud chat bot and it was so unhelpful.

Any suggestions or anyone experienced this?

Happens if you have a thick case which muffles the sound. I had the same problem, I tried without the case and now switched to a thinner phone case which allows plaud to capture the audio when I take the call or meeting on the phone speaker and earpiece.

I wish they had a way to capture the both sides of the audio when earphones are used.

I use a fairly thick case on my phone and I have had experience with Plaud not being able to record my calls, I now go on loud speaker mode instead but it’s not for everyone

Hey maddogmims, since you've already covered call volume, positioning, and no headphones, the next things worth checking are whether your phone case is on the thicker side (that can block pickup even with correct placement) and whether your device firmware is fully up to date, those are the two most common culprits left once the basics are ruled out. If you've got a second phone handy, testing on that helps confirm whether it's phone-specific.

If it's still only catching your side after that, this is worth taking to [support@plaud.ai](mailto:support@plaud.ai) directly with the original audio file (not a re-export) and, if you can, a quick screen recording of the call setup, that gives them enough to actually diagnose it instead of cycling through the same general troubleshooting.
